Hello. I am 88 years old and grew up loving and dancing to the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Bring back the good old days of great music like Glenn Miller and all the Big Bands. Thanks for the memories.
I am 69 and I miss my dad. This music makes me feel as if he were sitting right next to me. The love between a father and daughter lasts for eternity. I had the best Pop in the whole world. PINKIE MISSES YOU PA!
I’m 67 years old and grew up in a neighborhood filled with WWII veterans who were my friends’ fathers. When there was a block party (in the early to mid 1960’s) all the Moms and Dads would bring out their big band music vinyl, and would blare it and dance to it all night long! None of us kids could believe OUR PARENTS could jitter-bug that much AT THEIR AGE!! (They were actually only in their late 30’s and early 40’s but to us, they were old Mom and Dad…..until we saw the jitterbug queens and kings!!). ❤❤❤ I still tear up whenever I think back on those memories. 😢
I am 83 years and this is the music I still listen now, in Spain where I live, instead of watching all bad news on television. I start with country music at 7. am, and in the afternoon I listen these relaxing music of big bands of the 40. All this beauiful music is nice to listen.
If you don't already know of them may I suggest the group of people (young students) in Barcelona, called the Sant Andreu Jazz band taught by Joan Chamorro. Wonderful musicians playing the old and great standards we love. I'm an old guy too 79 yrs. Sooo...born in early 1944 l am lucky to have see and heard many phases of music thru the years to today. There is not one that doesn't electrify the moment when you re-hear it . Like now for example. Very emotional.
[Menchu] Can't tell you how much I love your post. It does sadden me though. As someone who lives in America, Washington State to be exact, to think how a corrupt America can effect even people in Spain is, well-- you know.
@brgilbert2 I'm with you! I'm in Tukwila, WA. And 67 this year. I long for living in a community that is set up as being back in time and listening to our old school music. I loved the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50's too! I heard there is a town in the Midwest somewhere that is like that. Anyone know about it? ❤
My Mom and Dad danced to "Moonlight Serenade" at their fiftieth wedding anniversary celebration in 1990. A few years later, when I moved in to care for my Mom after Dad passed away, she and I danced to Glenn Miller every Saturday in the living room. When she was in a nursing home with dementia, which held her for at least fifteen years, we danced again to the tunes as we hummed, until she could no longer walk, or dance, or sing. What warm and wonderful memories Glenn Miller's music evokes! It will always lump my throat!
I'm sitting with my mom right now in her memory-care facility, playing Glenn Miller for her. She seems to enjoy it - she's nodding her head in time with the music. Not much gets through to her these days, but music still does.
OMG! What an amazing memory. My dad played saxophone in the Korean war. Used to love hearing him play these tunes much later in the early 60's. R.I. P. daddy. 1931-2020. 🎉
young stooopid tasteless senseless and generally of no worth to me. Oh yeah, did I mention stooopid?. ................and there's too damn many of them.
Usually it has to do with the video itself, not the actual music. People might thumbs down because of the amount of ads, or because the audio quality is poor. This video doesn't seem to be any of those things, but thumbs down don't always mean a dislike of the music itself
Only 3 in 100 voted thumbs down. 97% approval is very high and hard to achieve. I have seen where they take the difference between approval and disapproval as a measure of popularity. I have never seen anyone get anywhere close to 94.
Hi I am 82 years old and grew up with this fantastic band and it still sounds great. Let's hope it continues to be played on radio and web sites like RUclips. Regards to all and stay safe. Brian.
Cuando tenía quince años, guardé una cuota del colegio para comprarme un cassette de Glenn Miller. Aunque mi generación escuchaba Otros géneros en los ‘80, yo amaba a esta banda y la sigo amando. mis saludos señor Bentley!
My mom was born in 1926 so she was a 15 year old teenager in 1941 enjoying Glenn Miller. She passed in 1998 and left me her collection on Glenn Miller on vinyl.
Yeah, my mother was born in 1927 and just about everything out of her mouth had to do with Glenn Miller music. She was kind of a psycho but she had excellent taste in music.
My granddaughter helped me with youtube and I am grateful...I was born in 1921 and need help with things like this. .hearing these songs again is more than lovely.I remember hearing these songs many many years ago. .

I'm glad to hear you enjoy music of any kind. My mom married a man that has discouraged music in her house, so she no longer enjoys music or anything much. She's pretty much his puppet at this point. She just sits and/or sleeps on her den sofa day after day, while he does as he pleases. You're fortunate to be able to listen to this music and so am I, for that matter. I love RUclips! My dad has passed, but I like to think that he still listens to this kind of music through me. This was his favorite kind of music, and he listen to it every day. Bless his soul. He was very kind & loving to everyone. He was born a little after you. Best wishes to you and your granddaughter. I'm glad she helped you discover this fulfilling website.
My husband is not a music lover but I listen through my hearing aids on my iPad.😉 I grew up with music. My Grandma, Dad, sister and I played instruments. Music is good for the soul. I hope your Mom finds a way to enjoy music. God bless.

@@pat4brown Thank you so much, Pat. Well, as much as it pains me to say, my mom is unable to listen to music, so long as her husband is around. As I said, he discourages any music to be played or enjoyed. He has a very dark spirit and dominates anybody that will let him. Maybe, he'll pass away before her and somehow, she could be led back to enjoy music again. It's all in the Lord's hands, now. I trust he'll work things out. God bless you, too. ~James🛡
My parents born in 1925 both lived through and romanced to this music and when my dad went to war and came back they married in 1947. They passed this on to 5 kids who will always recall them dancing and romancing to this music in our home. Fantastic music.
My mom was born in 1920 August 4 and my dad was born in 1923 March 30 they. got married in February 3 rd 1944 and then he went off to fight WW2 at twenty years old. Invasion of Ohmaha Beach at Normandy , France . The greatest generation for sure 🇺🇸👍🏼💕👏❤😎🎺🎸🇺🇸
Born in '65, I came to appreciate Glenn Miller after my tenure in the U.S. Navy, and learned that my maternal grandfather played trumpet in a band back home. After suffering a combat-related spinal cord injury, I spend quite a few weeks in the Veterans Hospital throught the year, and everyone loves when I play Captain Millers music.
My family reunions at my grandmother's house three or four times a year weren't complete until my dad sat at the piano, Uncle George tuned up his sax and clarinet, Uncle Bernard pulled his guitar (my guitar now :) out of its case and I plugged in my bass. Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, the Dorsey brothers, Frank, Dean, Mel and the rest of the 'Great American Songbook' were the standards we played all night and into the next morning. I didn't realize back then the musical education I received. I also didn't realize what great times they were. They still make me smile when I reminisce.
I tell those who hear that playing a musical instrument between the 50’s + 70’s was not uncommon at all. Public schools all taught music. It was a standard sacrificed for those too angry from seeing Civil Rights being protected. That’s the beginning of the push back by the totally wrong “Right”. Some see it. Some don’t but smirk off to the side. Peace
Yeah...!... I was 12, year 1944, World War ll, an uncle (my father's brother) was in the USArmy as Tech.Sergeant, the splendid music at the time, of Glenn Miller...!!!...I 'm listening right now (2022) 92 years of age, and I'm weeping...!!! It's so marvelous...!!!
My dad was in Germany in the US Army as a Tech Sgt. too in 1944. So many of my friends fathers served in either the European or Pacific theater too. This was definitely his music and he met my mom at a dance just after the war ended. I love the music too! Best to you.
True. I remember seeing Sun Valley Serenade on TVas a little kid in maybe the late 50’s. What struck me was people swimming in heated outdoor pools in winter with snow all around. It was confusing. I didn’t know what the movie was until I saw it on RUclips about ten years ago. At 60 I was just old enough to understand it barely.
I loved Glenn Miller and his band. I’m 91 and a music major and it’s certainly refreshing to hear real tunes being sung and played instead of somebody blasting and belting their lungs out.
@marycheek: So you were very young during this time period of the beginning of WWII. Amazing that you were probably in your late teens when you first watched tv. Now you're watching RUclips!
Good to hear musicians who can play . Not use a computer to bend notes out or strangle guitars, with incomprehensible songs that you wouldn't remember ten minutes later.
I'm 15 and this the best stuff I listen to, now I have collected a lot of records: tommy dosiy, Glenn miller, welk, and so much more...… the 40's 50's, 60's are the best kind of music. that's my own opinion
Aye.....I never thought to listen myself until I was 15 and starting playing the alto saxophone. What an amazing instrument. I was making my own music up on a whim within 3 months I practiced so much. I suspect you may be musical yourself hence the appreciation. Consider picking up an instrument.
You can still play the music and not worry about polio. It really was a huge part of life then. Tons of tears made, as I recall. Thankfully, the music is saved. Now let’s save democracy!
@@marcusschenk3577how cool! There are sooo many music genres. To hear someone venture outside the box (societal expectations),and speak of it like it’s ok is effin great, right?😅
I can close my eyes and see my mom and dad dancing in the living room to this music. I think the war was just over and everyone was just plain happy. Glenn had died over there but he definitely made his presence felt ever after. RIP Greatest Generation! You sure left your mark.
Verdade! Bem lembrado!!!
Only this past June, my last grandparent passed away at the age of 100..... she lived a good long life. I try to imagine her back when she was a nurse, and shipped off to Japan to help the boys in the Pacific Theater regain their strength. I imagine this would have been playing on the radio. I'll see you again, Gramma, I know it. I love you.
Same here. I'm 68 and just commented to my coworker about watching my parents dance, too! I thought it was kind of silly then, but now I truly appreciate what they shared with us.
Just turned 64. Mom and Dad danced and my dad taught me to dance to this music. I'm so lucky to have found someone who also enjoys dancing and lights up when In the Mood plays.
My mother was born in 1934 and my father in 1936, he died in 2021 when the Philomena passed through Madrid, Spain and the storm left us with a big snowfall.... I miss him a lot and this music reminds me of him
I'm 63. I've been listening to this for a very long time. In 6th grade we had to do an act. So, I got up and sang Chattanooga Choo Choo. Everybody was completely surprised. I'm no Tex B. at that age, but I did him proud. Now, I sing at nursing home, VA hospitals and such, singing all the great tunes. People love good music, and this is Classic Good Music.
I too am 92 and am also just now playing Glen Miiller. Absolutely Fab. Sitting in my bed where i routinely play music when retiring. Then onto Benny, Satchmo and others. My love to all other Music Lovers. Sydneyhglass😂
I was born in 1921 and had help from my granddaughter with youtube. .very grateful to have her help as these songs brought back memories from that time so long ago..
I’m 77 years old. MyDad had a big band, and I grew up listening to to this music. Some times, some ofthe musicians in his band would visit at our house. It was wonderful! My dad did some work for Glenn Miller, and he knew almost all the big band leaders.
I’m 71, grew up in Mumbai, then Bombay, and we loved Glen Miller. We would play his 45s and dance, mostly imitating moves from Hollywood films, which were also popular in the City. Every time I hear this music it transports me back to my glorious, fun-filled, teenage years. Timeless music, beautiful times.
I'm 61 but my mom was born in 1919 and my dad in 1921. They LOVED this music. Now I love it. Listen to Sirius XM Channel 71 - 40's Junction. It's the best. People who listened to this music in their 20's would now all be 100+ in years ♥
I'm 72. I remember coming home from a long Sunday drive, the rest of the family sound asleep. My dad driving and just the two of us listening to this music. Fond memories. I miss those days and my dad.😢
My first recollection of Glenn Miller and his Orchestra was a rainy evening. I was five, sitting in front bench seat of our car, between mom and dad. Dad had the radio tuned in to a station nearby as we drove into Los Angeles. I thought that the music was beautiful. It happened to be Moonlight Serenade. Back in those days patriotism was pretty high. It was the fifties and the future was bright and hopeful. This is how I first experienced the magic of Glenn Miller and his Orchestra. Somehow that music was a part of a larger picture in those days, summing up our love of life...
I AM FROM CUBA, AND THIS IS THE TIME TIME, WITH GLENN MILLER ORCHESTRA AND OTHER FAMOUS ORCHESTRAS. THE MOST MOST MOST WONDERFUL TIME, OF THE NORTH AMERICAN MUSIC . CONGRATULATIONS FOR THIS RECORD PROGRAMS OF NORTH AMERICAN MUSIC. C.P.PEREIRO
@gloriamarrs3273 well said....I am almost 80 years old and was raised on this music too. I grew up listening to my Mother's large record collection, plus the radio playing this sort of music. Still the best!
I am 54 . My parents listened and danced to this, so my youngest memories are filled with Glenn and Dorsey. Now I have my German shepherd listening to it.
My parents were born in 1927 and 1931. Glenn Miller was their "go-to" music back in the day. Great music is always great music. The Big Band Era will never die (assuming someone in society still has good taste).
My parents were born in 1917 and 1926. When my sisters and I were growing up in the '60s we were only interested in the Beatles, the Stones, et al. But every once in a while my mother would assert control over the stereo and play Glenn Miller and prance around the living room in full swing. We just guffaw, we thought it was old fashioned music that only old people listened to. Now I love it!
I’m 59 my GRANDPARENTS … When they meet both were Glenn Miller Fans…. My Grandfather had all of Glenn Millers 78 Albums…. They went and saw his Band When he Appeared in Los Angeles and other Great Big Bands When they appeared also…. BUT GLENN MILLER WAS IT OF COURSE MOONLIGHT SERENADE WAS THERE SONG …. I grew up listening and loving his music…. Both have passed away years ago, but when I hear The Great Glenn Miller Music…. I Think Of My Grandparents Dancing Close Together or Holding Hands Being Close Together Looking Into Each Others Eyes …❤❤❤❤…. IM SURE WHO EVER LOOKED AT THEM DURING THOSE SPECIAL MAGICAL MOMENTS KNEW THEY WERE IN LOVE ❤…… I HEAR THIS MUSIC AND IT BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES I MISS THEM SO SO SO SO MUCH NO WORDS CAN CONVEY HOW MUCH I SURE THEY ARE DANCING BY THE STAR LITE SKY ALL NIGHT ….. Am 52 yrs old, my beloved father is a swing jazz fan.. especially glen miller music when am kids, he always hold me in her arms while he sit in our family rooms while he playing his 12 inch technics with jvc amplifier and wharfedale speaker.. till i sleep in his arms... its a good memories from him.
When dad left the merchant marines after the war and came over, met my mom and brought his love of big band music with him, always remember my parents taking me to the Dorval airport on Friday night for the ballroom dancing...loved watching them glide across the floor...Am 57 now, they're both gone...but Glenn miller will always bring back those days like they were yesterday
The same here -- I remember sitting in my grandfather's kitchen listening to this music as a kid. I just love it and it reminds me of him. The greatest generation.
Me too, bro, and I still listen to it at 67. This guy was the greatest of all. The world wept when he disappeared on a flight over the English channel during the war.
When I was a child my stepfather played Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and other big band music all the time. I couldn't stand the music - was into rock music. But the big band music I heard as a kid took root and blossomed in me when I became an adult. I love it and it truly is among the best music on earth!
I've loved this music ever since I could remember and taught it to our son he was a little heavy set back then boy did he shape up fast and loves this now with his wife. I'm 79 and love it more now than before
I am 85 years old and With my girlfriend a performed a concert of the Glenn Miller orchestra in january 2024 in Brno. It was a guge experience for both of us
Greatest music of all time. Listened to big band music and singers many times at Chicago theatre. Cost me fifty cents to see movie, cartoons and stage show.
People today have no idea of his mass popularity in the 40s. For example, at that time, jukebox plays were measured and many jukes were loaded with only Miller music!!
I’m 59 , I was born in 1963 . All the music in those days Motown rock & roll & others , i found Glenn Miller & other music in Glenn’s days is more beautiful sound you can ever hear love it 🥰 ❤🥰🎐🎷🎺
I was born in 1940 and my parents were young having the time of there life. We lived in San Diego. My father had a sign shop and a record store. All I heard was Glen Miller. The Andrew Sisters, Rum & Coke Cola. Oh to be able to see my parents.
Same. I got a chance to see my mom after she slipped into a coma just an hour before she died. I don't know if she could hear me, but I never said goodbye. I told her to have a safe trip, have fun on the other side, and I'd see in her in about 20 or so years. I fully plan on having a nice little cottage with big band music playing in the background and a nice patio for us to sit and visit when it's my turn to jump on over. :)

How can anyone justify a dislike of this? Maybe you don't value or enjoy this genre of music, but you still have to admire ingenuity, quality and talent.
This Gen Xer grew up listening to this wonderful music thanks to my dearly departed Greatest Generation relatives. One of them a WWII veteran. R.I.P. 🙏
The crazy part of history is that we all become apart of it eventually. I still remember doing Business to Business sales for Bell Canada as a young man when ADSL (high speed internet) was new and everybody was begging for it. lol Feels like yesterday but not so. ;-)
I am 66 and my parents danced to this sound . I still love it because of the rhythm. The parents of this generation were among the group who said that rock and roll was Satanic. They loved you and cared but sometimes forgot what their parents thought of their sound. Music makes the world a great place. I thank God for the veterans in this era for protecting the world.
I love Swing music, I am 65, and kinda grew up with Swing even played it, it brings back cherished and also tragic memories, and it's made me a better person for realizing it's value in Our Countries History. Music is history, throughout all history....

I'm peruvian and a true lover of this music. I remember my parents dancing many songs of Glenn Miller's Orchestra at home. I'm a lover of this style of music. God bless you all and thanks Mr. Miller for bringing us your geniallity.
I wasn't born until 1949 but have always loved Glenn Miller and all the big band music. Reminds me so much of my parents and the Greatest Generation. My 17-year-old granddaughter likes this music too, they would be thrilled.
My Dad's all-time favorite band and bandleader during Dad's war years in WW2 1940-1945. He was a soldier in the U.S. Army serving in the Army Rangers, 2nd Battalion, Company F, and landed at Pointe du Hoc on Normandy Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944 and fought the Nazis all the way across France into Germany by war's end in May 1945. He said Glenn Miller's music "got me through the ugly stuff I had to go through to get back home."
I am 66 and love the big band music since the 60s before i knew what it was. Of course i like vaccume tubes hifi too. I can't be unhappy when listening to Glenn Miller. I felt panicky in the last 2 years of lock down though things in Singapore was not too bad. Because i felt the music i like, pre 1980 music, became obsolete, that people have forgotten and didn't want to listen to them anymore. But it's great hear them in public domain again!
Just sitting here listening to Glenn Miller's stuff. Trying to picture my Dad who served in the Navy, stuck in Iceland working as a radio relay operator from 1942 thru 1944. Miller apparently was top in the charts. Getting a feel of my Dads life at 20 years of age or so stuck in that lonely place. Was a completely different world then from today, just 80 years later. This was what he rocked out on, the American sound track of World War Two.
I must have been about 7 years old when I first enjoyed the sound of Miller’s and Ray Connif music, today at 73 I find myself still whistling these marvelous tunes while doing the odd job.
I'm 37. Yesterday I found still sealed (and will remain sealed) cassettes of Glenn Miller, The Andrew Sisters, and The Sons of the Pioneers at a thrift store. My first time listening. Great music. All of it.

I grew up listening to this with my grandparents every Sunday after church. I could watch football with the sound all the way down. It was the best time of my life.
I'm 63. Got into Glenn Miller playing his stuff in our high school dance band. I have eclectic tastes mostly rock but something about the big band greats keep winning out when I'm in a melancholy mood.
I'm 69, and my mom and dad shared the love of this music with me while growing up! I also loved Jimmy Stewart and June Allison bringing it to the silver screen. It's beauty and rhythm never grows old. Thank you! P. S. When I turned 16, my dad gifted me with a bottle of Shalimar and it made me feel so grownup! ❤

Sometimes I think that is strange, because he lived in USSR, but he not just listened jazz, but also palyed this music. In the piano, drums and guitar. My dad graduated in 1945. Biggest big band lover there ever was. I know where you are coming from. It's actually good music.
Absolutely the best 😊

Be greatful you lived though those times, i wish i could've
God bless them veterans Like my dad.
I am 83 years and this is the music I still listen now, in Spain where I live, instead of watching all bad news on television. I start with country music at 7. am, and in the afternoon I listen these relaxing music of big bands of the 40. All this beauiful music is nice to listen.
🤗❤
Me recuerda a mis padres. GRACIAS!!
I'm 93 now and have loved GlennMiller for 84 years now. Hope my kids play Glenn for me as I fail away.Or, What a way toGo!!!!
I'm sitting with my mom right now in her memory-care facility, playing Glenn Miller for her. She seems to enjoy it - she's nodding her head in time with the music. Not much gets through to her these days, but music still does.
That was beautiful!
Moon light serenade is my favorite
OMG! What an amazing memory. My dad played saxophone in the Korean war. Used to love hearing him play these tunes much later in the early 60's. R.I. P. daddy. 1931-2020. 🎉
How could anyone give Glenn Miller a thumbs down. They don't know what REAL music is.
some nuts I guess
young stooopid tasteless senseless and generally of no worth to me.
E Campbell video? All I get is sound!
Hi I am 82 years old and grew up with this fantastic band and it still sounds great. Let's hope it continues to be played on radio and web sites like RUclips. Regards to all and stay safe. Brian.

Hi I'm 30 years old. I love Glenn Miller, and Artie Shaw. I can't get enough.
Listen to Sirius XM Channel 71!
My mom was born in 1926 so she was a 15 year old teenager in 1941 enjoying Glenn Miller. She passed in 1998 and left me her collection on Glenn Miller on vinyl.
That is so cool! Thank you!
What a treasure! Enjoy
Yeah, my mother was born in 1927 and just about everything out of her mouth had to do with Glenn Miller music. She was kind of a psycho but she had excellent taste in music.
Lucky you
Awesome! Glad you have it! I don't know what happened to my Dad's collection 😕
~James🛡

My parents were married 68 years and this was their music as well. They were always dancing to this music in our home as well.
Your father's service is much appreciated. Many have said the same thing.
Glenn Miller was, and still is, a national icon. Great music.
The greatest there is and never will be another.
Sounds fantastic!❤
I tell those who hear that playing a musical instrument between the 50’s + 70’s was not uncommon at all. Public schools all taught music. It was a standard sacrificed for those too angry from seeing Civil Rights being protected. That’s the beginning of the push back by the totally wrong “Right”. Some see it. Some don’t but smirk off to the side. Peace
I'm 81, and I grew up with this music. My mom had a collection of Glenn Miller records, and we listened to them often when I was growing up.
I'm 86 and I still do!
These just makes legs to move ... LOVE this And Thanking them all behind this music for all..
This is a connection to my parents.

I'm 19 years old. And I love this music. It's so wonderful. In childhood I loved to watch Sun Valley Serenade.

Well for your young age you certainly appreciate good music .

You are definitely correct about the Big Band era never dying.
My parents were born in 1917 and 1926. When my sisters and I were growing up in the '60s we were only interested in the Beatles, the Stones, et al. I'm peruvian and a true lover of this music. I remember my parents dancing many songs of Glenn Miller's Orchestra at home. I'm a lover of this style of music. God bless you all and thanks Mr. Miller for bringing us your geniallity.
I am 2 months old and I listen to this beautiful music in my crib! It's very relaxing!
Man you just copied my comment.
I see what you did there
Oh my God that's funny thank you that brightened my day
This kid is going places I tell ya...
I wasn't born until 1949 but have always loved Glenn Miller and all the big band music. Reminds me so much of my parents and the Greatest Generation. My 17-year-old granddaughter likes this music too, they would be thrilled.
I am 44 but this is awesome. I actually discovered this on xm radio. Been listening to 40’s junction station. Guess I’m an old soul.
J'ai 72 ans et je me régale toujours! Un grand merci! !
I just miss my dad so much. This just brings him back to me ❤
My Dad's all-time favorite band and bandleader during Dad's war years in WW2 1940-1945.
Glenn miller sure can play that instament along with his band.great songs
My parents would dance in the living room to Glen Miller..... Loved watching them enjoy the music and yes... I love it too!!!
All of it.
Classic music and hold onto those, GodsLoving, Gods BlessingsUponyou, an enjoy those big bands sounds I grew up with my parents dancing to those songs I love this , still am listening to his music, Glenn Miller an others of big band songs,♥️☝️♥️🕊♥️💝🙏🏼
@@yvonnegrijalva1047 Thank you for the kind words. I wish you blessings as well. Perfidia puts me in such a mellow state. It almost feels like I'm in a trancelike dream and I don't want to wake up 😌😌🙂🙂
Today is my grandfather’s eleventyfirst birthday. He is passed, and I never got to meet him. But being the significance of this number, I asked my dad what to jam in his honor. What a dreamy playlist.
Happy bday Doc! (1910-1985)
My Dad 1908-2001 loved Miller and was a ww2 vet and I would listen to him play the trombone and listen to his records which was a lot of Miller tunes.
A nod there to Tolkien's Lord of the Rings saga! I love Tolkien & also Glen Miller!!! Best regards to Grandpa in Heaven!
Tear touched me.
My wife and i are huge fans, we are in our forties, our 10 and 4 year old are dancing around the house to the fantastic sounds of Glenn Miller.
Fine as a porcupine!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love big band music, and the way they dressed back then, with the fedora hats, and the classy way the women dressed. I was born in 1964, but ive been told i should have been from the 40s
I was born in 1961 and have been told the same thing. This is what I grew up on. This music and old movies. I feel at home with them.
@@nanibanks9760 watch the movie Sun valley serenade, lot of Glenn Miller music
@@willielarimer7170 1951 for me, and I always thought my Mum's music was soooo much better:) Of course, we did have Chubby Checker, the Beatles, and some amazing anti-war music
@@bpdt6420 sad thing is nobody really knows what happened to Glenn Miller, they think the plane he was on might have strayed into the spot where bombers dropped bombs from aborted missions.
You missed the good life music wise the Americans brought a lot over during the Second World war
My grandphather loved this music. As long as I can remember myself, we listened jazz and blues. Sometimes I think that is strange, because he lived in USSR, but he not just listened jazz, but also palyed this music. In the piano, drums and guitar. Already I am adult and now, also love to listen Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman. Unfortunately I can't play these melodies on the piano or other music musical instrument for my grandphather, but I turn on this or another videowith a good music, and he could remember his young years. More than one year, I lost him. And now, when I listen this music, remember my dear grandphather. Sometimes it's very difficult and even now, I'm writing this comment and cry.
I was born in 64. Starting at 10:28 wow. Grooving soulful delicious. Such a large group of musicians so in sync with feel. Incredible recording. Where?
