- Note: I'm starting to feel guilty about how many people are subbing to me based on this video, and so I'll be honest and admit I have no plans to upload more Transformers videos; the set of four TF vids this is a part of were just a one time thing. Probably would just be more video from my local town festivals, maybe some Let's Play type videos in the indeterminate future.
Actual video description: One of the online extras that was available with the Circuit City DVD release of the 2007 Transformers movie. This one is a behind-the-scenes look at some of the voice acting sessions. Features Peter Cullen, Charlie Adler, Hugo Weaving, Jess Harnell, and Darius McCrary.
Peter Cullen has a voice that every body will remember.

One of the only times I saw a standing ovation in movie theater was when I heard "I am Optimus Prime."
Hearing that 1986 was his last time as Optimus prime till 2007 is actually heartbreaking, I know he had other work but imagine if he had other roles as Optimus throughout the early 2000’s

When Peter Cullen began the iconic optimus prime speech at 2:19 i was shedding tears when he said "I witnessed their capacity for courage and though we are worlds apart like us there's more to them than meets the eye. I am Optimus Prime and i send this message to any surviving Autobots taking refuge among the stars we are here we are waiting" one of my favorite speeches that can make me shed a tear

Both are from Petter Cullen, and damn it, do they give me shivers down the spine.

It’s kinda ironic that Bay says ‘I can’t imagine anyone else being Optimus’ since it actually took a _lot_ of persuading from the fans and 3 auditions before Peter got the part. I’m very glad he did, it’s the only thing that makes Optimus in these movies an enjoyable character

He is 81 now. Hope he lives until 100 and try to voice any Optimus that will come. Don't leave us yet legend.

@@big7073 Idk man, the people who have strong opinions on these movies either way are pretty few and far between compared to the people who saw a trailer/poster for one of the movies, thought it looked neat and went to turn their brains off for a few hours before forgetting all about it within a day.

When Cullen speaks you feel the weight of every word he says with such sincere passion that touches us all everytime we hear it.
Peter got a voice that's respectable. I can feel the goosebumps when he does the voice of optimus prime.
Peter Cullen is Optimus Prime, KevIn Conroy is Batman, Andy Serkis is Gollum. Mark Hamill is Joker. Can't imagine any other voice!

Interesting how I heard Hugo Weaving supposedly despised his time as Megatron but at least here he seemed to be at least enjoying putting some energy into the lines.

Everyone talks about Peter Cullen, but Hugo Weaving delivering his line here gives me huge Frank Welker vibes. For someone who only did the role for the paycheck, he sure looked like he was enjoying himself for a second.
If that's the case, they probably could've gotten Steve Blum to do Megatron at the time. But Hugo Weaving was still a pretty good Megatron 👍.

Peter will always be Optimus Prime in my eyes forever, there is just something majestic about his voice that makes Prime this humble yet bad ass leader that if you were an Autobot, you would follow him to the scrap heap. Peter and Prime will be the legends that will live on and never fade.

Peter Cullen (Optimus) was another reason i fall for these movies.. He has the exact Depth, Gravity, Weight in the voice that suites the Creature size of Optimus and matches his persona. even amplify that..

The live action movies have nothing on the 1986 one. I was a massive transformers fan as a kid and seeing this when it came out on VHS made me so happy. I also cried when Optimus died

Amazing how Hugo Weaving still seems to be giving his all when he said he didn't care about the movies. Some people's 1% can be some other's 100%.

peters voice just gives me goosebumps. i remember being 8 years old going to the movie theater to see with my dad. have been a die hard fan ever since then. Rise of the beasts was an absolute masterpiece. one of the best ones in my opinion. the first 3 were the absolute best. but this one is right along there with those three. there can never, and will never be another optimus besides peter, period.
Peter Cullen is the only Optimus. I follow Rob Paulsen aka voice of Yakko, PInky, Raphael and the new Donatello, and listen to his weekly podcast. Jess Harnell is the voice of Wakko and thus a friend and guest on Rob's podcast. But theres something about Barricade, his voice and everything that makes him my favorite badass decepticon.

For some reason in the first film the robots a cybernetic voice filter that was later abandoned in the sequels but I wish they'd kept that cybernetic voice filter because they sounded very menacing.
