Also in case anyone didn’t know, he’s not named Optimus because of his Optimism, but rather because of a Latin word “Optimus” meaning “best”, and with Prime meaning something that’s really important, Optimus Prime literally means “The best and most important.”

I love it that is a younger Optimus voice being used here. You normally have in these fandubs for Transformers it be based off contemporary Cullen's voice, which with age has added that gravitas and seriousness to Prime's voice. Remember, G1 cartoon Prime was playing basketball and going to casinos to gamble

With the context of them being aliens and not being exposed to the dirty, double meanings of some words. I would jump straight to questioning Cliffjumper on how he knows these.
Clearly he's just spent more time than most Autobots digging into the human lexacon, not just getting surface meanings, but also slang terms. If anything he's right on calling out the other Autobots on not putting enough effort into localizing their names in a way that won't confuse the locals.
What I'm most impressed with is the writing here. I feel like Optimus is totally in character throughout the entire video, which is rare in videos like this. Stretching the character for comedy is totally acceptable of course, but sticking to them so solidly is really remarkable I think

fun fact, a few years ago hasbro put out a combining robot special edition transformer called Nexus Maximus.
Then a fan did a google search on the term and reported back that the name was already in use for a vibrator
Hasbro had the name changed to Nexus Prime not long after.

I haven't laughed so hard about Tranformers since watching "The Rude Awakening of Optimus Prme" in 2007.
Optimus obeying the Sabbath seems extremely in-character.
I like how Cliffjumper asking how Optimus has been on Earth this long without learning this stuff implies that Earth is like a cosmic internet where the childlike innocence of various alien species goes to die
Or that thus far our world is the first they found with total delinquents.

You’ve been on earth for a while so it makes sense you would know the basics of human reproduction. Now why do you an alien robot know all these human terms unless you had an active interest in those things? To any transformer the basics are easy to understand and thats the end of it but why do you know more than just “man, woman, 9 months and baby”.

Unironically this would actually make sense for Prime, the transformers don't have reproductive organs and have time and time again been displayed not understanding about things like physical intimacy (Except for IDW, and even then, I always hated that cause it never made sense) let alone reproductive organs and sexual acts.
And Prime's a busy guy. While he may take his time to enjoy the Earth customs and culture sometimes, he's busy planning various things. Not just plans to defeat the decepticons, but looking after his Autobots, increasing base defenses, cooperation with humans.
It makes sense he wouldn't have a degree of understanding for these phrases that we as a species made up.
I always just assumed that the Autobot names were like Call signs (which that part is obvious), and what they come out to in English is the closest thing that matches what their names mean in Cybertronian. So with that being said I could totally see one having a name like fuckin Hand Job out of confusion.
To be fair romantic relationships involving transformers have been around since at least gen 1 with sea spray.
@thegrimlockreaper1279 I don't mind Romantic Relationships, I actually like how they were represented in episodes like the Search for Alpha Trion, where the relationship is displayed not as a physical one but as a deep bond with someone that's much more emotional than anything else. Which always came across as profound to me cause these are beings that not only have lived for Millions of years, but have gone through War for many of them. So a connection like that carries even more weight and emotion when it's over hundreds of thousands of our life times.
My Problem is with how things like IDW make them have very physical relationships, despite it making no sense at all for Robots. And they try to make it seem like it's "More mature" when it actually comes across as less mature, and more just forced. And I know part of the reason physical intimacy isn't displayed in other transformers media is also because it is after all a franchise made for kids, but that doesn't change the fact that it doesn't make sense for Robots. As well as the way they depict it even in G1 is again just kind of profound. That they express that romantic love purely through how they talk and refer to eachother, and how much respect the hold for the other and how much they value the other. I find that a much more mature depiction of Cybertronian Romance
The IDW thing was weird, but..eh. Social constructs and all. Don't think sex had anything to do with it. Powerglide had a human love him and Seaspray scored with a mermaid lol, so I kinda let the IDW thing slide. Plus Prime had Elita, etc. Asexual robots super liking each other is fine.

I like that I am not alone in not knowing what "reach around" is and didn't get it why Cliffjumper is baffled until the other names where mentioned, giving us the minimal context that "reach around" is THAT kind of word.
