I bought mine 02/24 and have had no issues shooting 115 grain ammo. I had ammo from the it shot like a dream. My pistol was made 11/23/23, so a lot of the previous issues have been addressed by Canik. The only issue I had was the magazines wouldn't drop, but a simple 10 minute fix and all my mags drop with ease. I sure wish I had the money to burn just to get to 1000 rounds. I have over 300 through mine. You just confirmed to me that I bought a great little pistol. I bought mine on an impulse a week before my ankle replacement surgery, and before doing research on it. By the way, Hurley Welding makes sleeves for the 15 and 18 round magazines and they look and feel great. Since it was brought to my attention that I was time warping, I edited one number to be correct. So I will update my comments. I have put about 400 rounds using different grain and brand bullets without one miss fire. I have one regular 18 mag and two 18+ mags and not one problem. I did install handleitgrips for better control and has helped control the recoil.
I bought pistol that had a stiff spring and really tight tolerances that would only run 147 for the 1st 350 rounds, then it ran 124 fine, at 750 rounds it finally ran 115 grain reliably.
We put 250 through it yesterday, brand new although I did clean it the night before (Saturday). Not a single issue with 100rnds white box 115, UMC 124 or my 148gr carry ammo. 3 rnd groups at 15 yards were within 3 inches (my eyes can't do better). Very impressive out of a 3.1in barrel.
They may be putting the 115 grain rated spring in the ones they are shipping now. I got mine as soon as it came out so it definitely has the gen 1 spring.
@@ericlambirth3889 You're probably right. I'll dump another 250-300 through it before the end of this month. I went into it thinking I'd have problems 100%, was pleasantly surprised that it ran the first 250 with not one hiccup.
Mine was jamming a lot too, until I emailed Century Arms and told them and they sent me a new recoil spring. With the new spring I haven't had any jams in over 200 rounds and thats with 115 grain Blazer brass fmjs and 124 grain hps from Federal and HSL which is a local ammo maker where I live.
I bought 1 of the TP9 Elite SC when they first came out. It jammed often with different ammo. Canik sent me a “blue” marked guide rod & spring. It worked 100% reliable with it. From 115 to 147tmj, to Horn. Crit.Duty 135+P.
One thing I know i can set straight is everyone who owns the Canik MC9 AND the full size Canik pistols (SFT's, SFX's, SF's etc.) NEEDS TO STOP USING THE FULL SIZE MAGS IN THE MC9! I shot hundreds of rounds with my MC9 and it ONLY jammed on me because of the full size 18-20 round mags. There is a reason why Canik doesn't have "MC9" marked on the package the the full size mags come in. Yes the full size mags click into the MC9. But there's more play in the mag when used in the MC9. It sort of droops downward a tiny bit causing the bullet on top that's ready to be fed through to be low enough for it to not feed properly. In the case of it jamming most of the time I've found that the slide is all the way back like I ran out of ammo and then look to find that the bullet is jammed against the bottom of the feed ramp. Shot great with no jamming as i used the mags that are specifically for the MC9 I can say.
I have around 100 rounds through mine. No issues with the recoil spring or the mag release as others have stated. It's now in my rotation. Incredibly smooth trigger and is very accurate for a 3" barrel.
I can't argue with the accuracy at all. I need to zero the red dot. Haven't changed it from the factory setting yet. But I do have to pull my empty mags out. They don't drop free unfortunately.
@@ericlambirth3889 I saw a good fix for the mag drop issue. Wrap the mag in a couple wraps of tape vertically not horizontally, insert it and use a blow dryer/heat gun on the grip for about two minutes. Watched a video of this, he did that twice and hasn’t had any issues since.
I recently ran 115grain FMJ thru mine. Bout 200 rounds without a hitch. I even had a round that the projectile has a dent in it. Chambered that one first that restocked the mag and it shot it no problem.
I've had mine over a week. 400 Rds through it with NO Malfunctions. The trigger Is Phenomenal for a Striker fired piece. Short & Quick reset. ONLY thing I've altered Are After market Mag Sleeves for the 15 round mags. LOOKS Much Nicer and feels Better wen firing. Fits Flush all around with the grip. 😊
Tons of issues mines at canik for the second time! This time they’re sending me a whole new gun. 650 rounds in had out of battery issues, ammo issues with 115-147 FMJ and hallow points. The rear sight came loose. Mind you this is after I sent to canik the first time and they “polished the feed ramp and new recoil spring” third times the charm right ?
I've heard so many spectacular things with these....but I also heard they're not built to perform long term. I have no idea if this is true, but it stuck in my mind.
Well i cant say my experience is with the MC9 But ive had my Canik tp9 sf elite for 2 years and it only jammed maybe twice despite all the rounds ive put through it. Nor have i had to buy any replacement parts at all.@@Blindsyde5762
At this time it's hard to know the longevity of this pistol because it only came out early 2023. Yes, there are those that can afford to put 1000's of rounds through it to test it. But my wife can't see the fun and the money spent doing it. I bought mine for self defense/conceal carry reasons, and it definitely performs perfectly for me. I think over time it will prove it's durability. I know there is a great demand for them and the price will be and has already gone up. I bought mine for $399 out the door and 3 months later at the same store they are asking $419.

Im really dissapointed with my purchase. The MC9 has only given me problems. First the mags did not fall free, I had to fix that, then the failure to return to battery when press checking, I had to wait about a week for that new guide rod and now the bullet wont go up the rail and into the chamber. I am so done with this piece of crap.

The return to battery failure is the only thing that was the lingering issue to me.

Those mags wobbling around can cause the out of battery issue
Really not a fan of how much flex you can impart in the grip of this pistol. The walls are crazy thin.
The grip sides are very thin. The mag well issue would not have came up if they had added a bit more plastic to the sides.
