I think the best they could do with Reva would be putting her in the new Jedi Survivor game. Would make perfect sense to have Cal meet her somehow. Maybe she could even become part of the crew for awhile. Having her interacting with other survivors of Order 66 could help her coping with her trauma too, especially Cal him having been a mere Padawan back then as well.

Yep. I always found it weird in Episode 4 that the Empire firebombed an entire farm and slaughtered an elderly couple just routinely searching for droids..... what this tells us is when the Empire came knocking in Episode 4, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru didn't play it stupid and pretend not to know where Luke was, they probably just came out blasting, looking to protect their kid with all they had.

  • @pitchfork78ify

That was a very profound observation you made when you said that Reva coming out of the desert with Luke in comparison to Anakin bringing Shmi back.
Anakins's return the the farm with his dead mother marked his start down the dark path, and that was definitely mirrored with Reva's start down the potential path of the light side with the returning of an unconscious Luke. Nice call out.

The scene where Vader tells Obi-Wan that he didn't kill Anakin Skywalker and that he was the one who did it also reinforces another line in the original trilogy. In the OT Obi-Wan tells Luke that "Vader betrayed and murdered your father." The scene in this finale reinforces that line in terms of Obi-wan speaking to Luke like Vader and Anakin are separate people and that Vader killed Anakin.
Did you notice that not only did Leia wear Tala's holster she also wore the little gloves that Ben bought for her? So both Leia and Luke have a gift from Obi-Wan. Leia has the gloves (and Tala's holster) and Luke has the toy ship. Very cool.

She NEVER mentions anything about the events that took place in Kenobi when she was 9 years old. And what about Vader and Ben confronting each other on the Death Star before their duel. He talks to him like he hadn't seen him since the events in ROTS.

    • @deaconstjohn4842
      @deaconstjohn4842 2 года назад +4

@@KryptonKr I think we can say, at this point, that Obi-Wan truly believes that Ani is completely gone, and that is why he's able to have some closure, find a new purpose in life, reconnect to the Force etc..
Anakin is dead to him, there is only Vader and Vader killed Anakin so that's the tale he tells because it is true. After this encounter, if Kenobi were to meet Vader again, he would still call him Darth and treat him like a Sith Lord. Kenobi reached a point in his existence where he accepts that Anakin is gone, never to come back.
Ofc he changes his mind in the OG trilogy, after he gets to know Luke a bit more and sees the potential and everything. But even in the trilogy, he still says to Luke that he'll have to kill Vader because that's the only way. Then Luke proves him and everyone else wrong.

  • @captaindelta43

When Vader says **"I am not your failure"** , his face is covered in blue light as if Anakin Is accepting the apology from Obi wan . Then his face turns red , when Vader returns with darkness . This was so symbolising in a way that even though He's Darth Vader there's is still some Anakin left in him only those who really know him can take out .(Another instance Ashoka ) and Finally Master Qwai Gon for 5secs after two and a half decades
Overally what a great short series which greatly connects the events , also keeping the characters comically accurate . I will be not mad or sad if we don't get a season 2 .

A Jedi does not kill in cold blood. Never. When your opponent is defeated, that is when you show mercy, which is exactly what Obi-Wan did (and every other Jedi would do).
It's not a coincidence, therefore, that when Anakin was put in the same situation, he did instead kill (see Dooku and other opponents), even if his enemies were defeated/unarmed or whatever.
All Kenobi needed was some closure and Anakin gave him that (accidentally, I would say), by telling him that he was not the product of his failure but rather the outcome of his own choices. Anakin's goal here was most likely to not give Obi-Wan any power or responsibility over him, but by doing that he also removed his sense of guilt towards Anakin. It was like "hey, you didn't fail me as a master, I chose to slaughter everyone, you've got nothing to do with that, I did everthing of my own accord and you mean nothing"

Well you really should give it a second go. It's definetly worth it. It's just the first two seasons where not much happens. But from season 3 to 7, it's the best Star Wars content out there. It gave birth to one of the best characters in Star Wars, Ahsoka and of course made everyone love and care about the clones. The characters of the clones are just as important and just as good as the "main" guys like Anakin or Obi Wan. So i can't recommend it enough!

Except Anakin wasn’t truly gone as we found out in Return of the Jedi. Luke was able to reach him because he had a deeper connection to him than Obi Wan. Luke’s compassion for Anakin was an extension of Padme’s love for him. When Anakin said to Luke “You were right about me” it’s also saying that Padme was right about him when she sensed the good on him.

I think what a lot of people are missing is that, even though Bail’s message doesn’t explicitly tell you that the kids are Anakin’s, there’s enough information there to tell Reva that they’re important and that an Owen of Tatooine has ‘the boy’ and that it’s important that ‘he’ (clearly Vader) does not discover them.
She might not know everything but she knows getting this boy could hurt both Vader and Kenobi.

The Jedi are inherently keepers of the peace. They don’t murder, seek revenge or kill out of spite. So for Obi-Wan to leave him the first time (because he already thought Anakin had died do to his own doing) and leaving him essentially for the first time here was his own humanity and code speaking for itself. Plus he had no idea what position or legacy Anakin was leaving behind as Darth Vader. He hadn’t been in touch with the force for years and years and had no knowledge of what his once friend and brother had done or was planning to do

I see Reva's motivation as more of for Obi-Wan to lose a youngling he's protecting rather than Luke being Anakin's son (she never heard Luke's last name and thus wouldn't have made thatt connection). She was partically obsessed by the fact that Obi-wan was no where to be found to protect the younglings in the temple and she sees justice in Obi-wan losing a youngling under his care.

I thought he was being mean in talking bad about Obi-Wan, but now I think Owen was trying do deemphasize Obi Wan in Luke's mind to keep Luke at home where he felt Luke was safe. He just want about handling this in a too rough way. I like to always believe that maybe Owen would have been less gruff, but then his and Beru's death stopped that. Even if Luke had seen the light saber it could be explained that he was only 9, so with time details might be forgotten. Obi Wan accepting that Anakin is no more is in great contrast to Luke also believing that after Vader sends him to Palpatine and Luke says, "Then my father is truly dead". But Luke tries again later. Obi Wan and Anakin shut themselves off from each other and this series helps me to understand why Obi Wan never tried to reach Anakin again. It wasn't that he didn't want to, it was that Anakin never let him sense him again. But with his own son, Anakin just couldn't stay dormant due to being conflicted. I hope to see Reva again and to know Obi Wan helped her further to do and be good. Whether we see Obi Wan with Qui Gon depends on Liam Neeson. I read that he rather would be in movies, so we'll have to see if he will do more with Ewan.

The moment he cut his helmet Obi could no longer beat him. He was too emotional, not being able to see Anakin's face was how he even got that far. Likewise Vader was too badly injured to continue fighting Obi with no breathing either.

I do not need this to happen, but I think it would be pretty cool if there is still some future plan in the works to explain away or retcon Vader and Obi-Wan's fight in A New Hope being a bit slow & clunky. It does not matter to me because I know at the time, nobody ever thought there would be anything preceding A New Hope. But, now that we do have all those prequels and other things have been either retconned or put into greater context (like even in this show), I do wonder if something is planned about that. I also wonder if Reva will actually stay on Tatooine to look after Luke and Obi-Wan actually leaves to help fight against The Empire for a while OR if Obi-Wan somehow wants to help Reva complete her Jedi training?? At this time, Han should be working for Jabba, right? In fact, he may have already been on Tatooine at some point during this show, for all I know. I think the lady playing Reva had her best acting yet in this finale. I would have still liked to have seen the Grand Inquisitor have a boss fight as he did in Star War Rebels, rather than just talk. It's pretty cool to think about Han Solo probably working for Jabba now and Maul is probably currently training Qi'ra now. I would like to know about what other Jedi's went through The Path, helped people escape and left their lightsabers behind and how Quinlan Vos helped a bunch of younglings escape.

Without a doubt, Obi-Wan couldn't kill Vader just like Luke could't at the end of Return of the Jedi.
