That is not what he said. Obi-Wan bears a lot of the blame for Anakins fall. Anakins death may have been at Vaders hands but Yoda and Obi-Wan really are a huge part of Anakins hate for the jedi.

The fact he smiled when he said he killed Anakin Skywalker was unsettling. Also, I like the symbolism where both Ahsoka and Obi-Wan slashed part of his mask revealing his face and both's first word was "Anakin". Ahsoka and Vader could only chip away at Vader's psyche, it took Luke on the verge of death to lift the mask of Vader to bring Anakin back into the light.
"I can't believe he left Vader alive again" Broken and defeated, Vader had no defense and certainly no offense to put up. There was nothing left for Obi-Wan to do but maliciously kill a defeated opponent. Remember Palpatine goading luke? "Take your weapon, strike me down with all of your hatred and your journey to the dark side will be complete" This is a message to all of you out there, "If you stain your soul to win, is it really a victory?" Pride comes before the fall my friends.
This was a joyous episode. Such a beautiful and emotional ending. This had everything I wanted and believe they set up a second season perfectly. Loved hearing all you’re thoughts and feeling throughout the series. Thank you for all you guys do
I hope not. There was barely enough story for these 6 episodes. What else is there? And reva shouldnt even be alive. Her "redemption arc" was so unnecessary. No part of her story in this episode made any sense. If they want another season, it should be called Vader and focus on him while Hayden is here for it.
I really enjoyed this episode. A very nice wrap up to the series. I liked the way they wrapped up the Leia and Reva storylines for now. I hope we get to see more of both of those characters - where Reva goes from here, and how Leia develops from here (and maybe what she fills that holster with). Thank you so much for sharing your reactions.
What a great season finale(Loved the Vader/Obi fight and the realization that Ananikin is actually gone) I liked the way they had Vader speaking in 2 different voices too-Anakin/Vader. Also Reva knowing she would be just like Anakin if she had killed Luke(That was super emotional for me) This whole episode was so emotional. So many good things in this episode
The sheer serotonin that flooded through me when Ben greeted Luke with those two iconic words, AND the reunion with a certain Force ghost, got me sighgin with relief! The duel was more emotional than flashy, but that really was the point. Fans got what they wanted - whether it was in the exact way they wanted it, I guess time will tell, but I loved every minute of it. It's actually gratifying to see someone actually make Vader wheeze and hobble and cripple him the way Luke would do in the future on Endor jsut before he got redeemed, but it isnt that kind of duel - its not about beating Vader, it's more about humbling whatever is left of Anakin WHILE allowing the Rebels to get away. Jedi are great fighters, but the more emphasis fans put on fighting and duels, they forget what the emotional stakes are in a story, and this was really good storytelling in my humble opinion! And low key, I hope we see Reva again down the road, now that she's redeemed herself. Will she be a rebel? A hermit like Obi-Wan? A mercenary, smuggler .... some kind of former badguy back on the goodguy path? Dont know yet....but I hope we see her down the road! Thank you Moses Ingram, Hayden Christensen, the rest of the cast, and especially our living legend of Old Ben/Obi-Wan, huge thanks to Ewan McGregor! Oh! And thanks Wendy and Dustin for another tear-jerker of a reaction!
Seeing the return of Qui-Gon as Force Ghost and seeing Anakin got that huge scar on his head due to Obi-Wan is what really made me love this episode. Perfectly done.
Not really. It's still another in a long line of obi lies. He could save people so much trouble if he just told the truth. There was no reason to tell Luke that other than to confuse him. That and obviously the greatest twist in movie history.
This series gave me the closure I needed. I cried as well. I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. But hearing Haydens voice BROKE my heart. And Kenobi has to be the best star wars character.
The way they flipped the mask break when Obi broke it and when Ahsoka broke it is really amazing. It's faithful to the animated. Looked really well done. The voice switching gave me chills. And they really need to take advantage of this Leia actor. It can't just be this one season for her as Leia and I imagine she'll be in Ahsoka!
The fight between Anakin/Darth Vader and Obi Wan really really reminds me of the fight between Ahsoka and Darth Vader in Rebels because of the helmet being broken and the lines that Obi Wan and Ahsoka say before they walk off or fight to the death.
Not surprised Obi Wan left him again. The emotion first time and second time round was always too much. Even the last time he didn't plan on walking away from it.
A sign of a true Jedi Master... Obi-Wan won't kill or finish off someone when they're pretty much defenseless where Vader will kill someone when they're defenseless.
The way the lighting on Anakin/Vader shifts from blue to red. Just chef's kiss. I don't get excited about new Star Wars but the latest stuff like THAT BATTLE, the shit with Luke in Mandalorian/Boba Fett? THAT gets me excited the way only the original films did when I was a kid and saw them for the first time in theaters when they were rereleased in 1998(?) for one of the big anniversaries. GOD THIS WAS GOOD.
The thing I really appreciated in this episode is that both Obi Wan and Reva had agency in their choices. Qui Gon didn’t need to show up to tell Obi Wan what his purpose is, Obi Wan realized it on his own and made his own choices. And Reva didn’t have someone else stop her or prevent her from killing Luke, she made that choice on her own. They may be influenced by the people around them but ultimately the choice was theirs and theirs alone. And this contrasts with Anakin’s own choice to remain with the Dark Side. Everyone made their own choices, and everyone has to make peace with that. Also loving the Organas and the Lars getting acknowledged for being good parents who raised Leia and Luke to be the heroes they grew up to be. Yes they may be Padme and Anakin’s kids and have their good qualities, but the kids also have those qualities because Breha and Bail and Beru and Owen raised them.
Man I cried too.😂 I really loved this episode. And I think this show has done a good job not just at giving Easter eggs to the original trilogy but they also filled in some gaps in the stories of the original trilogy as well.
i grew up on the prequels, Clone Wars and Rebels, and it's hard to describe how emotional this finale was. By the time he said "Hello there!" (ugh) I just lost it.
Amazing last episode, it's sad it's over but they wrapped up every story. They gave us the battle we all waited for. They gave the music from John Williams. They closed nicely Reva's storyline and turned her from the dark side. Owen and Beru had some action and of course watching Luke meeting Obi-Wan in the end gave me chills. And lastly, we got Qui Gon Jinn.
I’ve never seen an Star Wars movie in my entire life nor watch any of the tv shows just pure pop culture references and this was probably the best episode, fight I’ve seen
@@LC-cq5um absolutely not. Her story was ancillary to the show. It felt like it only existed to fill run time. This series was very thin on plot. She should have died, everything about her in ep. 6 was so unnecessary.
Wendy, when I saw you tearing up during the first part of the big duel, I was worried that you wouldn't make it through the rest of the show. 😊 Honestly, your genuine emotional reactions are one of the main reasons that you guys are one of my favorite reaction channels. This was SUCH a great episode!! And great catch on Luke's toy, Dustin! Keep it up you guys!!
Can you smell what Obi-Wan is cooking?? LOL! I would have expected Vader to force choke the Grand Inquisitor for daring to question his decision to follow Kenobi. If Vader was just going to take his ship after Kenobi, why not just split the difference and have Grand Inquisitor take the Star Destroyer after the remaining rebels? The beginning of that song that played when Vader and Obi-Wan were about to fight sounded a little bit like Duel of Fates, but it would've been so cool if they did play Duel of Fates. LOL, would it have been too cheesy if after Vader punched the ground and Kenobi fell, if he then said, "Now I have the high ground"? I honestly expected him to say that. I did not expect this episode to be so emotional. I think I still love the Ahsoka/Vader fight more, but this is a very close 2nd and I know it is unfair for me to compare an animated fight with live-action. But, the emotions still hit me a bit harder with the Ahsoka fight. But, wow, I did not expect that fight to be that long and powerful. LOL, I had this image in my head of a closet-full of shiny new Vader helmets. This finale gave me so many chills and tears.
My 10-year-old said the same thing! It makes no sense. So while Vader is on the planet the Star Destroyer is doing what? Do they come and get Vader or does he get back to his ship?
This was such a perfect finale for Obi-Wan Kenobi. Not only did we get one of the single greatest lightsaber duels in history but we also had the very emotionally powerful moment of Obi-Wan finally coming to terms with the fact that Anakin wasn’t his failure but that Vader destroyed Anakin on his own. God the way it mirrored Ahsoka and Vader.😭😭😭 Also they could’ve ended it with Ewan McGregor saying “Hello there” with absolute perfection, but they also FINALLY gave us Qui-Gon Jinn!!!
Loved the way kenobi firsts words to luke are "hello there" in this series, and in chapter 4 i think that "hello there" are the first words that he says to luke also
Most intense and emotional finale, especially the battle between Vader and Obi Wan. Pararells between the exposed cracked helmet with Ahsoka and Obi Wan. Chills! Also we finally get Qui-Gonn!! Hoping for season 2!
Great reaction guys! Re: Ben leaving Vader rather than killing him, it’s not exactly the Jedi way to assassinate (according to Mace Windy in AOTC even though he became a hypocrite) plus Kenobi still can’t bring himself at that precise moment to take his former friends life. May not be the ‘right’ play but certainly the most human. It’s probably not that easy to take a life, especially the one of someone you loved for decades...
I think this episode isn't entirely chronological, the Tatooine parts mostly take place after the fight with Vader, but as Obi-wan is leaving he gets a vision/feeling of the near future. Because they both had the same travel time to Tatooine. Just a guess, but I now think I know why Stormtroopers killed Owen and Beru. When they showed up at the farm they went inside and the Lars's ambushed them fought off the survivors back out the entrance at which point the Stormtroopers decided enough of this and tossed a couple thermal detonators at them. This fits very well with the novel Leia: Princess of Alderaan which shows Leia about five or six years later just before she starts running missions for the Alliance to Restore the Republic and her appearance in Star Wars Rebels.
This episode is full of fan service done right. Besides all the appearances that have been mentioned and how everything ties in nicely with the films, we finally get to hear Vader's theme and Leia's theme!!
I watched it 2 times before I looked for reaction videos. So that I knew what I felt all the way through this episode. I loved every bit of it, as I had no expectations going in, it was good story, with a begining, a middle and an end. It made me 😂😊😢. So it did a good job.
The ONLY credit I can give Disney is that this show is NOT made for veteran fans but for future generations to come. In terms of movies 1,2,3, OWK, Rebels ,movies 4,5,6, Mando, TBOBF, movies 7,8,9 will have a continuity that will create a bigger legacy impact on popular culture than most franchises. The gaps between movies 7,8,9 will have to be filled over the years to complete the story with several series. The critics of today have a heavy bias as they have seen Star Wars from various starts. Some from the very beginning, others from movies 1,2,3 as their foundations, to others have a newer foundation of movies 7,8,9 and these new series and have lots to research to understand it all. Being this close to the fire and forge, you kinda get a raw perspective, that may blind you from the smoke in your eyes and the heavy tinny banging. But when its all done and 25 years time and you want to watch this saga from movie 1 in order including the TV series it will be a very rich saga indeed. The next generation will love it more so than this generation as that generation will have a complete Star Wars saga.
That was THE BEST finale of all series I have seen yet. I said this on some other reaction channel but im gonna repeat myself. THIS WAS the finale we should have get in episode 9 of the third trilogy. I mean, there were literally EVERY DAMN THING here in Kenobi series. Im so glad for Lucasfilm of what they showed us.
The inquisitors would definitely pursue Reva after this. She is a force sensitive who isn't working for the empire. And she deserted the empire and betrayed Vader. I don't think they'll organize a search for her but if she's found you could bet the Grand inquisitor would deal with it personally and probably bring backup
Wow guys 56,000 views!!! That is great! You guys deserve it your always putting out videos, very good videos, and you guys never reach for the lowest hanging fruit just to get views.. I can't imagine how you find the time to just keep putting out content.. I would have to be working on this at 3/4 am, which I'm sure you do..thanks for all the work you guys put in.. Obi and Vader getting me crying, then Reva coming out like that made it worse. Then having Qui-Gon... Man. Though, this kind of did make me want a separate Reva story before she changed back. That was impactful.
I am hearing a lot of counter responses to the ending of this show. Less people forget that this is about an order of Jedi Knights. The key words are Order as in a religious belief and Knights. One must look at the source materials of where Lucas obtained this for his ideals of the Jedi. First, the term Jedi was taking from the Japanese description of the warring period of Japan called the Sengoku Jidai. The second word was changed to accommodate a the jedi. Secondly, if followed any orders of religious knights, weather they be the Templars, Tutonics or the Hospitilers then there are a lot of religious dogmas that will be in their belief systems. And third, taking from the Honor code of the Samurai, there are similar overlaps of this code with that of European knighthood thus mentioned. The code of honor would dictate that one would only use the force of action as degreed by the actions of the other. As for the Samurai, one would defend up to the point of huritng, if hurting is enough, maiming if maiming is enought, killing as a lasting resort. Thus when Kenobi decides to apologize for everything and leave a crippled Vader on Jabiim, it is with the knowledge that Vader could not fight anymore or do anything. the Honor code was inforced in the belief of the Knghthood system. The templar code is The Chivalric Code of Honor I shall defend the Templar Knights and the laws of the land. I shall respect and defend the weak, the sick, and the needy. I shall patriotically love and protect my country. I shall not retreat from adversity nor from challenge. I shall ceaselessly oppose evil and deceit. I shall perform scrupulously my civic duties I shall remain faithful to my pledged oath. I shall prudently give alms and aid. I shall be everywhere and always the champion of right, good, and tolerance against injustice. The Samurai seven code of honor are: Integrity Respect Courage Honor Compassion .... !!!!!! Honesty Loyalty So there are some reasons why Obiwan Kenobi deemed that the fight was over. Another point, when Vader tells Obiwan that Kenobi was not responsible for the death of Anakin Skywalker - and he was lit in blue and his eyes were clear, and that He (Darth Vader) killed Anakin Skywalker - face lit in red and eyes were yellow/red, it was a touch of Anakin removing the guilt from Obiwan Kenobi and why he said he was "Free". This is another aspect of why Kenobi "felt the good in him" as Vader was in his prime, but was still conflicted and will always be conflicted on what he was taught vs to what he wanted. His compassion vs his passion. Another aspect is I just watched all six episodes in one take and there were many things that tied in that was missed on viewing this once a week. I grew up with this character. It was the reason why I now teach Japanese Swordsmanship (Iaido) and a reason to study the histories of both European and Asian cultures.... I would look into this commentary ... Apologies for the long writ.
That scene between Vader and Obi-Wan was one of the best scenes in all of Star Wars. And the way Vader smirked as he said he was the one who killed Anakin? That was just brutal. Shows how evil Vader truly is. Obi-Wan in ANH: “He betrayed and murdered your father.” Vader in Obi-Wan finale: “I am not your failure, Obi-Wan. You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker; I did.
Her reaction to the fight is adorable lol. To be fair, I had the same reaction, it just wasn’t as cute 🤣 I can tell you both genuinely care about the series which is great to see. It started a bit rough but holy shit did it get better and better as it went on!
I think him screaming “Obi-Wan” at the end was less Vader, and the goodness of Anakin actually crying out for help one last time to be saved. But Obi-Wan abandoned him again.
holy crap i just realized something...back when vader said " i didnt kill anakin skywalker.....i did.." that isnt him... its palpatine talking THROUGH anakin. in clone wars, obi wan ruined senator Palpatines of seat power when jar jar went into power on naboo. so an added hatred bonus there. just like the connection with snoke and ben solo. the sith have that power.
Vader's mask getting damaged and the words shared between him and Obi-Wan has probably become one of my favorite scenes in all of Star Wars. Say what you want about the rest of the series, but this specific moment is perfectly written, directed, and acted. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen have such good on-screen chemistry. Ewan nails Alec Guiness' speech pattern perfectly. Hayden gets a lot of flak for the prequels sometimes but honestly it's the dialogs fault and not his. George Lucas wrote some wonky lines for that role in the prequel. I had to wipe a tear, what a fantastic series.
Yes!!! Seeing haters online I just never understood it! This series made my life better!
@@paulmccormacksvideogamesan2912 don’t worry those are just people who don’t understand Star Wars granted there could have been more but people just aren’t satisfied nowadays and it’s specifically because of everyone’s egotistical mindset’s of entitlement to where people aren’t even trying to find any ounce of happiness with what they at least get from these series.
Wendy!! You got me crying again over here! - Vanessa
😭😭😭
The finale got me emotionally. I’m surprised since the rest of the show I felt something was lacking. Still enjoyed it, overall.
Compassion and mercy are hallmarks of the Jedi. "A Jedi's goal is to defend life, not take it."
Absolutely loved this series.
With that ending, here’s hoping there’s going to be another one!
Your editing is perfect. Captured all the right moments, both from the show and your emotions together
Thank you so much!!
Just finished watching Kenobi. OMG. Excuse me while I wipe my tears off the floor. So many emotions. 😭
The scene at the end with Leila and Obi-wan talking about her qualities from her parents, was so touching and what a scene.🥹
Seeing the return of Qui-Gon as Force Ghost and seeing Anakin got that huge scar on his head due to Obi-Wan is what really made me love this episode. Perfectly done.
"He betrayed and murdered your father."
Well, that line is even more relevant now.
15:38 Obi-Wan is probably getting ready to look for that place to build his new home. ❤❤❤
This is a finale that true fans of the series will cherish! And the review is amazing!
I agree! I loved the whole series!
That rock throwing scene was awesome!
“It’s not about lifting rocks” said Luke from Last Jedi. Lol!
Your emotional reaction was everything!😊
Don’t worry, I cried my way through most of this episode. Checked every box for me
Amazing last episode, it's sad it's over but they wrapped up every story.
Reva's story was really good but I don't know if it was the execution on the writing or acting side that just made it not hit as hard as it should've.
It was both. Not great writing and this role was too big for the actress current abilities.
I think think there should’ve been more episodes so reva would have more character development
Same but I was emotionally spent after the kenobi/Vader duel if I’m honest lol
@@LC-cq5um I don't think that would have succeeded. Many are complaining already about the amount of screentime she got.
I love the way you guys react. You actually watch, and react emotionally, instead of talking through every scene like some of these lame reactors do
A beautiful reaction to an amazing finale 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks guys for another awesome series reaction once again. 💖💖💖
Glad you enjoyed it
Me watching this finale: [Visible Happiness]
Memes aside, their rematch duel was amazing and heartbreaking.
That explains Obi Wan's story that he tells to Luke, telling him that Darth Vader betrayed and murdered Anakin
Not really. Obi-Wan's strongest force power is telling half truths. There was no reason to tell Luke that.
I'd like to see more of this. Kenobi and Qui Gon being a thorn in the side of Vader and Palpatine's plans constantly, up until A New Hope.
God the way it mirrored Ahsoka and Vader.😭😭😭
Also they could’ve ended it with Ewan McGregor saying “Hello there” with absolute perfection, but they also FINALLY gave us Qui-Gon Jinn!!!
I can’t believe people complained about this show. It’s amazing
It has some noticeable faults.
Loved the way kenobi firsts words to luke are "hello there" in this series, and in chapter 4 i think that "hello there" are the first words that he says to luke also
Tears in my eyes that whole episode lol. Obi Wan still showing Ani lessons, and basically showing him he's still a padawan. Great finale & show.
Remember in A New Hope, what Ben told Luke is what Vader/Anakin told Obi Wan… that moment is such a cool Easter egg
What? Are avoiding spoilers on a 45 year old movie?
This fits very well with the novel Leia: Princess of Alderaan which shows Leia about five or six years later just before she starts running missions for the Alliance to Restore the Republic and her appearance in Star Wars Rebels.
that brilliant shot of the star destroyer looked like it was plucked from the original trilogy. this finale was amazing
Loved it, thanks for sharing the experience with me.
"I'm crying over a fight." Well, if you're crying now, just wait! Lol.
It was such an emotional episode!!! I just loved it.
Excellent show!... some small issues...but ill save those for the whiners! Overall Awesomeness
I just want you to know there are people who appreciate and respect what Wendy and Dustin do...
Thanks so much!!
Obi and Vader getting me crying, then Reva coming out like that made it worse. Then having Qui-Gon... Man. Though, this kind of did make me want a separate Reva story before she changed back. That was impactful.
Never i years did I ever think that the next time we'll see Obi wan say "hello there" will be to a young luke Skywalker! 😭
I almost bawled my eyes out when Vader said “You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker, I did!” and then Vader smirks.
The dual was emotional 😭
The templar code is The Chivalric Code of Honor
I shall defend the Templar Knights and the laws of the land.
I shall respect and defend the weak, the sick, and the needy.
I shall patriotically love and protect my country.
I shall not retreat from adversity nor from challenge.
I shall ceaselessly oppose evil and deceit.
I shall perform scrupulously my civic duties
I shall remain faithful to my pledged oath.
I shall prudently give alms and aid.
I shall be everywhere and always the champion of right, good, and tolerance against injustice.
The Samurai seven code of honor are:
Integrity
Respect
Courage
Honor
Compassion .... !!!!!!
Honesty
Loyalty
So there are some reasons why Obiwan Kenobi deemed that the fight was over.
Obi-Wan in ANH: “He betrayed and murdered your father.”
Vader in Obi-Wan finale: “I am not your failure, Obi-Wan. You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker; I did.
immediate came here after complete watch episode 6, what an emotional ending.
I absolutely love that we got Liam Neeson back!!! 😁
I wept throughout this 😢 a masterpiece of Star Wars 😊
I agree!!!
Jadd J.A.D.D. Jadd
Last episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi was great. That duel us one for the ages.
Of course,he leaves him Obi about compassion ,Tell him Wendy bring him up to speed. My daughter and i cried watching this amazing Episode
This has so many twilight of the apprentice references and I love it!!
When the Leia theme came on, I immediately cried.
It's OK Wendy, I cried at those parts too. 😭😄
Love how VADER tells Obi its not his fault
He said Vader is not his failure. 2 different things.
Her reaction to the fight is adorable lol. To be fair, I had the same reaction, it just wasn’t as cute 🤣
I can tell you both genuinely care about the series which is great to see. It started a bit rough but holy shit did it get better and better as it went on!
I think him screaming “Obi-Wan” at the end was less Vader, and the goodness of Anakin actually crying out for help one last time to be saved. But Obi-Wan abandoned him again.
Nah
holy crap i just realized something...back when vader said " i didnt kill anakin skywalker.....i did.." that isnt him... its palpatine talking THROUGH anakin. in clone wars, obi wan ruined senator Palpatines of seat power when jar jar went into power on naboo. so an added hatred bonus there. just like the connection with snoke and ben solo. the sith have that power.
Episodes 5&6 are the best in any Disney plus series IMHO
Brought tears to my eyes, too. ^^
Best episode of the 6, I knew the 3rd sister survived episode 5!
