I also liked the attorney in the book better. I think the guy in the book was worried that Jacob was going to steal Renesmee away from Edward, since the passports Bella asked for were for Jacob and Renesmee. I'm sure he wouldn't want Edward or Jasper coming after him for helping with that!
He's dealing with vampires, I expect a man like this to be fearful & nervous for his life not worried about some kid he doesn't really know, that's the vibe I get from him...idk how he's written in the book but here he is very believable in his role esp bc lawyers also tend to be sleazy in general

@@AzrielGracenah I mostly just think these are flaws of the movies, the hearing is so great they can tell when a car from the highway sounds like it's slowing down and exiting it by entering in the long road through woods that eventually brings to the Cullen's house, even if they're inside, and super hearing isn't the only enhanced sense they have you know, there's also an incredible sense of smell so powerful that a vampire can even tell what blood type you are with a quick sniff if they're familiar and have memorized what the difference is supposed to smell like, which they have no trouble doing since they have photographic memory, so strong that it let Edward know a vampire of a scent he wasn't familiar with has been inside Bella's house, you would smell an approaching vampire no matter how quietly they're trying to walk, not to mention the incredible sight, which of course includes peripheral sight, there's no way Bella would have (or rather should have) looked up only when he already had gotten to the room
