Charlie was always my favorite character in these movies. I know watch him in anything I find out he is in. He is a very good actor. This scene had me in tears because he just wants to hold on to his daughter and he knows that somehow the baby is theirs. He looks at her with so much love. It was funny when Jake turned into a “Really Big Dog”! 😂

Have you seen "Revolution" ? He is one of the main character. It's a really good TV show, kind of a mix between The 100 and The walking dead (without zombies though)

@@shiorilumine28 Computer Generated Imagery. Sometimes it's done so well you can't tell it apart from reality, and then other times you get Bella's baby and you have to take a time out to settle your stomach.

Charlie knows his own daughter when he sees her and yet instinctively he felt something was off!
I love how even though his curiousity is just dying to know what happened. He trusts his daughter. I think maybe deep down he knows something "supernatural" happened to her but he just doesn't know exactly WHAT it is. But he trusts his daughter. If I were Bella, I'd have just told him. "I'm not telling you for your safety".
The Volturi could kill him. There are not many humans who know about Vampires. There are a few in Volterra serving directly to the Volturi, hoping to be changed (and not eaten). But usually no one knows...

As a cop, that would raise every red flag under the sun, and probably a few fire proof ones sitting right on the surface of it. The slightest hint of danger, and he'd spit in the Volturi's eyes trying to discover it.

Charlie's reaction after noticing that Bella and Resnesmee have the same eyes bittersweet, realizing in that moment he has a biological granddaughter, but has no idea how that could be since Bella's pregnancy was much, much shorter than an average woman's. I stopped being a fan of Twilight years ago, but the way this scene is portrayed is very sweet
I chalked it off to Charlie believing Bella was pregnant when she got married and hid the pregnancy because Bella wouldn't want Edward blamed... or targeted by Charlie.

So he definitely felt that she is cold to the touch. It looks like he reacted to it when he hugged her.
Also, not only did his daughter get married right out of high school, but now she and her husband 'supposedly' adopted a baby, all this as supposed teens.
And he is going to eventually realize his daughter isn't aging.

poor charlie. this whole franchise did him so dirty. all he did was love his daughter and do his absolute best. you don’t see renee here talking with her, it’s charlie. he always loved her even when he wasn’t allowed to see her. he’s such a fantastic dad in every way. he accepted jacob being a wolf and renesmee (stupid name still) as his granddaughter with little to no question. charlie was done so wrong in this and he deserved better. he was such a loving and caring dad. he always knew renesmee was his grand baby but didn’t challenge them on it. damn it charlie deserved better than fishing trip, i love him 🥺

Lol in the book, Renesmee kind of tempting to bite her grandpa. But, Bella and Edward warn her so she trying her best to behave.
It also told that actually Bella hold on to her so that she wouldn't bite him or show him her talent.
In the book she loved him immediately. Bella and Edward told her to behave with him and not to bite him and she doesn't. She loves her grandpa and despite his confusion he just accepts that she's a special child because there's no fathoming all the details
Every fortunate father has an opportunity to see his offspring thrive and this story helps to see that journey's difficult emotional trauma. Not easy but worth every moment.

This scene makes Me cry because he really does love his Daughter even if he wasn't the greatest Dad he tries and I can't imagine him knowing that she actually died he technically lost her. She is dead basically he would be so devastated and she knows it because he's almost lost her so many times and for him to know she died while on the honeymoon and thry all didn't tell him would devastate him even more. I just cried.

In the books she's a corpse lying on the table after practically being bisected. Jacob performs CPR relentlessly on her corpse refusing to give up on her and as he's doing that Edward finally snaps out of the shock of her dying and the birth of the daughter and bites her all over and injects a vial of his vemon directly into her heart valves

Charlie does know it’s his granddaughter. He knows in the books the second he sees her eyes. And he does spend time with her. He just doesn’t know the details about Bella’s pregnancy and the vampire transformation

I think they used the CGI coz if they find a normal baby to act in this there won't be any acting at all. The baby was supposed to look like she 'knew' her surroundings, like when she saw Charlie there was some reaction there. The human-vampire baby also grow faster than an average one, so Renesmee should not be like a normal baby...? It looked creepy and weird but there's a purpose.
can't risk the non CGI baby actors getting eaten by the adult vampire actors on set before the director says 'action'. That would be causing an unsafe working environment.

He was different in books, not that ideal... He literally was going night to night to bella room to check if she really sleeps, broke her car on purpose to prevent bella going somewhere cause she sounded excited (night before meeting Edward parents). He kinda used bella as his cook, she even cooked dinner for him in a day of her wedding.
My point is he is not ideal and Bella isn't ideal too.
Also it wasn't Bella choice to love Edward. It was Edward choice to come back to Forks if he didn't Bella would not even know him better. She would remember Edward just as a strange boy not more.

@@oihcam22 I don’t think that’s the case cuz how would it make sense that she had a baby in the 2 weeks that she was “sick” it takes 9 months to carry a child and then ontop of that the baby had a fast growth rate that already made her look 3 months old.

He knows it's bs and they're just saying it to sheild him. In the books he knows it's Bella's daughter the moment he sees her eyes. They decide that he'll be told things only on a Need to Know basis to protect him and also to protect themselves from the Volturi. Also to stop Charlie having a heart attack as the Jacob wolf turning nearly killed him from shock lol. He just accepts eventually that Bella is like the Cullens now and that Renesme is special due to her growth and abilities. The adoption story is for the whole world so he helps protect their secret by going along with it but he does know it's Bella's bio kid. Bear in mind she gave birth within a few weeks so there's no dancing around it. Also Charlie has always known the Cullens are strange as he's seen Carlisle never age despite living in the town for decades.
I would live for the day that Charlie finds out his new in-laws are vampires and that all the weird happenings around Forks were linked to them in some way. A few years later find Charlie giving every cop a very quick firestarter kit because you never know

There’s no way that Charlie believed that Renesmee was adopted and not their child he can tell he just won’t say anything like come on Renesmee looks almost like Edwards mother and looks like Bella a little plus he knows that there’s no way that Bella would’ve adopted a child when she could just have her own and Charlie knows it

Okay fuck this scene so hard. Charlie was the most sympathetic and most wronged character in this whole series. Dude is in the dark this whole franchise about the supernatural shit going on. He doesn't see his daughter for like 2-5 months, she gets pregnant with a demon baby, dies, and gets brought back as a fucking vampire, then when he sees her again she tells him "something's different, I just can't tell you. Also this is probably the last time we're gonna see each other." And he just takes it all. And then to top off this depressing cake, when he hugs her, he mentions that she feels cold. (Vampires are cold.) And like, I just fucking teared up because this dad just trying to do his best for his asshole, dumbass daughter, and her fucking gang of freaks show up and they ruin they're lives. Not to mention the actor playing the dad is really great in this scene, his performance was really believable so that's probably also why I got so emotional. But there is one thing wrong with this scene...
the fucking CGI baby coming around the corner and sucking all the emotion out of the moment.

Charlie was my favorite also, I didn’t like the way they treated his character in these movies, I didn’t care for the first movie, her sadness for Edward, a person she just met, took up too much of the first movie, and some of the second, meanwhile her father was trying to reconnect with his daughter. She didn’t really give him a chance , all she was thinking about was Edward , it was boring, watching her mope around about him, my personal favorite was the last one.
Why can't they just tell him that Bella is a vampire? I mean cat's kinda out of the bag at this point.
the volturi kills any human who knows about them so him knowing would out them in danger
@@aono8581 They have no way of finding out though, the only reason they found out about Bella being human was because of Edward's dumbass going suicidal.
But unless someone goes out of there way to tell the Volturi, they won't find out. Who is gonna go through all that trouble of going all the way to Italy just to tell them about one human? And that's assuming the Cullens don't kill that person before they get the chance.
As for Irina...well she's a dumb bitch tbh and in the end got herself killed for nothing so it doesn't really count

I like to think when Charlie and Sue got together she filled him in. Sue wasn’t bound like the Vamps on telling about the Cold ones especially since Jacob phased in front of him. That’s why Charlie accepted the way things were at Christmas.

I thought the writing in the books was poor but the story was good so I kept reading. I had no complaints about the movies they made from the books. They left out some little details that I thought were cool story bits but were not essential to the actual story.

Notice how Charlie didn't touch Renesmee... If he did, she probably could have shown him things, which would have complicated the situation even more.
It wouldnt complicate anything, cause in books they told her to not touch him, renesmee was really smart and knew what she can and cannot do.
