I've written (in high school) plenty of stories of Thanatos on how he makes the dying feel like they leave life in the embrace of a friend by staying with them until they pass and escorting them to the here-after. 4999 reminded me of my vision of Thanatos adapting to the modern world.

I've preformed the duty of SCP 4999 back in 2005. Her name was Lucy and she had a stroke with a DNR order. So no life support was given. Meaning no IV or tube feeding. That was one of the most profound times in my life. (She was my roommate at a physical rehab) Edit: no cigarettes involved until she was gone and I went outside.
I'm convinced that SCP 529's back end is in the same place (wherever that is) as that one MTF operative who's legs vanished when he helped investigate site 13. He said he could feel "something furry" brushing up against his legs every so often. that's probably 529's back half. Plus they're both lacking body parts but are still able to somehow walk on them just fine. seems like the same thing to me.
Honorable mention: SCP-530 A perfectly normal dog… except for the fact that its body randomly shape shifts, which has given 530 new limbs, different colored coats, and sometimes turns it into a totally different breed, though it will almost always have 3 eyes. “Carl”, as he is nicknamed, does not suffer from these changes and is just as friendly as any other dog, and is even allowed to socialize with SCP-529. (NOTE: do not give Carl anything besides his regular kibble, especially meats like baloney, as it can result in some “foul-smelling” changes, if you catch my drift.)
The fact 131 single-handedly, or well, dual-eyededly saved the world from what could've killed thousands is such a brilliant way to show that even the most friendly and harmless things can be a murder weapon if operated in the right way!
SCP-4999 is my favourite SCP of all time. I had the pretty rare privilege of being with my grandma when she passed, and the sense of peace of someone just being there brought her helped make the passing much easier. I love the idea that people who don’t have anyone, or have loved ones who can’t make it for whatever reason, can still have a quiet, peaceful passing with someone who appreciates the quietness of the moment.
There's also a nice SCP-001 proposal aka. "The Godhead Eternal". Once she was a researcher named Mary, now she's a mighty realitywarper. She came in her friend's dream and offered her help to the foundation if the Leviathan wakes up from its slumber. Another nice one is SCP-2840.
A little sad not to hear of one of my favorite benign SCP objects: SCP-951 (“My Friend LUCAS”). It’s a glitch in an RPG video game that causes a friendly, sapient NPC calleed Lucas to join your party and help you through the game. He talks to the player in real-time, asking when you’ll come back when you go to quit the game. He answers questions and even admits to knowing that, when the game is over, he will “die”. His only desire is to be your pal and help you out in your adventure.
Lord Blackwood is definitely one of my favorite SCPs. His concept is so simple- an 18th century traveler and naturalist who loves telling stories but he’s a sea slug- but it lends itself to plentiful interesting ideas, like the Lord’s origins, his very colorful personality to match his colorful body, and many really good images of possible scenarios. I like to imagine him and other friendly SCPs like the Reluctant Dimension Hopper meet each other every now and then to chit chat.
I love Lord Blackwood too. There is one story of him attempting to hunt SCP-682 in France in the 19th Century that is pretty interesting, granted that was back during his human days.
CactusMan (SCP-2800) is a good example of a friendly entity. He was a wanna-be superhero who always tried to be helpful even when he was put in containment. Sadly, he was too underpowered to be of much use to the foundation.
Honest to all things good, The Patchwork Bear was my introduction to the Foundation. I found it way too endearing to be 'contained' as it were, and even choked up a bit after seeing its' origin. Now these days Bobble and the Law of Howling come to mind, but it's always nice to see the other SCPs that are genuinely benevolent.
Honestly, if you have access to a sapient stuffed bear that can magically stich up organs to save people's lives and you DON'T make sure it has all the materials it needs and access to people who desperately need organs.... well, I sure don't have anything nice to say about you...
I think you should've mentioned the ordinary murder monster 5031, on the list who used to kill people but, due to a specialized containment experiment, turned quite nice and friendly
"specialized containment experiment" nah, they just treated him with actual decency 🙄 shouldve been what they did in the first place i wonder how many other "evil" scps are just upset at their living situations
4999 is one of my favorites is just so comforting to think about Also the patchwork bear, I wonder how would he react to someone with damage on their eyes
I think it COULD be possible for the Patchwork Bear to create a prosthetic button-eye for example, but there ARE limits to its abilities. Apparently its SCP article shows a test log where it was exposed to a patient with cerebral hemorrhaging, and it picked up various materials in distress before simply giving the patient a king-size candy bar and hugging their leg :( It seems if replacing the organ would permanently change the "inner person", the bear can't do it.
By the way - The recognized previous student of Miss J was a female, Xenia Chau. She became a researcher and told the Foundation that she had a copy of Miss J's Whiz Kidz Schoolhouse, to the Foundation's excitement. She was asked to bring the copy in, and did. She later interacted with Miss J once again.
SCP-2295 made it on my top ten fictional doctors. this list complies individuals of intellectual variety whether it be medicine, engineering, or other scientific fields. SCP-2295 made the top three on the list with Dr. Gero from Dargon Ball Z and Gordon Freeman from Half-Life taking the #1 spot.
i think the friendly, weird or simply neutral scps give the universe more flavor and makes it seem more real in a way. every story being "BOO AND THEN THEY SAW BRAINS" doesnt feel that right... in a world with so many anomolies you'd expect some to not be obviously evil or world-ending
Sometimes I just question why they keep in these friendly SCPs, but then I realize the SCP foundation thinks like this: “If something is unusual of this person/thing, I should capture it/them and bring them to the place.”
SCP-1230 actually causes dreams that not only are an incredible fantasy, tailoring to the main character's wildest imagination. But also can last up to a perceived too hundred years. These adventures are like entire story books greater than anything you read, the greatest series you ever took in, and people in them can forget about their real lives. People that awake from them often are never the same haunted by a life so much better that so abruptly ended. Some even consider them a better life, and upon waking they commit suicide, or suffer depression. Edit: For more info, a normal sleep cycle passed and they awake only hours after first drifting off.
yes. though the thing to note is they're doing this as an internal decision, even though the artist of the original did give permission, from what I've read.
@@rtm117 essentially, you know the main image they've used all this time on the wiki to show 173, the form dubbed 'lord peanut' and there was controversy about the shape in one of the games due to copyright? The wiki has decided to make the site completely creative commons license compliant, and will be removing that iconic image. The original artist of the piece, had actually given them permission to use it on the wiki still, but not the creators of the game, hence 173's model change. Still, the site has made the decision to remove it as they wouldn't fully meet the compliance by their standards with it up.
That cat Josie has got to be a reference to Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently. In The Salmon of Doubt, there is mention of Dirk Gently and a case he was going to undertake, which kicked off when a lady brought in half a cat. I'd have to dig the book out but I think it was the back half.
I was hoping someone would mention her!She is very sweet, she has powers to get herself killed, she befriended one of the others(can't remember the number)
I’m confused on why the nice SCP 343 wasn’t included, he doesn’t use his reality-bending abilities for bad, just to make himself comfortable in his containment cell as he just wants company
I can sense a video about 2203 being released on Valentine's Day. Would make sense. Or maybe one about Dr. Spanko as he is being referenced a lot in these SCP lists.
Well at first I was like “now why would they contain these guys” but then it occurred to me that if they got out, while their intentions are good, someone evil/malicious can use their powers to their own benefit.
I think you're missing the point. The SCP foundation aren't some sort of “good guys” fighting “bad guys”. It's simply a massive international bureaucracy that mindlessly performs its self-imposed duty of removing anything and anyone unusual from the society. It doesn't concern itself with things like morality or even common sense.
SCP-1230 (A Hero is Born) would be my first choice of most of these. So many stories are written within my mind on a regular basis, and I would personally enjoy a nice little isekai.
I mean, why wouldn't there be? The only reason for SCP's to be scary is if that was the only point to them. From what I can tell though, many SCP's are generally benign, if not friendly. So, there isn't any reason why there couldn't be friendly ones.
All this talk about friends has me thinking; How about a video on the only two SCPs that are mutually friendly with SCP-682? SCP-053 the Little Girl and SCP-079 The Old AI. Why do these three get along?
I dont think he gets along with the little girl so much as his instincts made him be docile with her because otherwise he would have died probably. Either that or her anomalous effect had a reverse effect on him
Since there's no "canon lore" to the SCP Foundation, there's tons of reasons for why it could be - but there's lots of fun theories! One theory is that both SCP-053 and SCP-682 are related to the Scarlet King, so their "hateful, violence-inducing" behaviors cancel each other out. SCP-079 and SCP-682 both hate humanity and wish to genuinely destroy it. Alternatively, 079 wants to connect to a full network. If it can do that, it promises to release 682 - and 682 always wants freedom. There's also a theory that SCP-053 keeps SCP-682 calm because its effects induce rage, but...well, 682 pulls off a Hulk, "I'm always angry" and it simply keeps him content.
682 isn't a horribly violent creature who wants to kill everything. It just hates humanity and wants to kill us because we're disgusting. 079 isn't human, and they both hate humanity. 053 is ambiguously human. Or maybe her powers don't work on giant death lizards
053 who induces murderous, psychopathic rage in everyone around her who then mysteriously drop dead as soon as they attack her, might in fact have a calming effect on 682 who is after all already in a constant state of rage. 079 who is an old AI shares a mutual distaste for humanity with 682 as they both feel they have been deprived of freedom by humans. 079 has been kept confined in an old, standalone PC to prevent it from entering the internet and infecting and taking control of other computers, much like 682 being kept in a pool of hydrochloric acid.
I like to think of 4999 as an entity like the grim reaper or the Flying Dutchman. An entity that helps with the cycle of life. The Reaper helps the souls of the dead reach the afterlife, 4999 helps the sick and dying comfortably and calmly reach death.
I agree 4999 deserves to be mention on this video. Its an SCP that exist to take away one of the common fears involving deaths: The fear to die alone.

I've preformed the duty of SCP 4999 back in 2005. Her name was Lucy and she had a stroke with a DNR order. So no life support was given. Meaning no IV or tube feeding. That was one of the most profound times in my life. (She was my roommate at a physical rehab)
Edit: no cigarettes involved until she was gone and I went outside.
That is incredibly kind of you. Best of wishes to you and Lucy!
very kind of you! hope lucy is happy now!
You spoke with her in her last 20 minutes? Geez im sorry...
@@rtm117 Did you read the comment good? He said he took SCP-4999's duty. That means Lucy died after they met. And at the end he told that Lucy gone.
@@geteer18 wait how did you know
I'm convinced that SCP 529's back end is in the same place (wherever that is) as that one MTF operative who's legs vanished when he helped investigate site 13. He said he could feel "something furry" brushing up against his legs every so often. that's probably 529's back half.
Plus they're both lacking body parts but are still able to somehow walk on them just fine. seems like the same thing to me.
So looks like that these anomalies can be considered sub-anomalies if we can figure out what the true anomaly is.
That's a cool connection
now my question is, is the end of her body, can you see her organs, or do you see fur? or nothing at all?

Honorable mention: SCP-530
A perfectly normal dog… except for the fact that its body randomly shape shifts, which has given 530 new limbs, different colored coats, and sometimes turns it into a totally different breed, though it will almost always have 3 eyes. “Carl”, as he is nicknamed, does not suffer from these changes and is just as friendly as any other dog, and is even allowed to socialize with SCP-529. (NOTE: do not give Carl anything besides his regular kibble, especially meats like baloney, as it can result in some “foul-smelling” changes, if you catch my drift.)
or the corgi
The fact 131 single-handedly, or well, dual-eyededly saved the world from what could've killed thousands is such a brilliant way to show that even the most friendly and harmless things can be a murder weapon if operated in the right way!
Scp 5031 has the most wholesome story on the site, makes me smile every time i read about it learning to read and cook.
4999's whole purpose is sadder than 1762 change my mind
SCP-368 is a good example too. The Paper Crane likes hanging out to researchers and boosts they're moral!
@Femonic The Hot cool
Milka secret
There's also a nice SCP-001 proposal aka. "The Godhead Eternal". Once she was a researcher named Mary, now she's a mighty realitywarper. She came in her friend's dream and offered her help to the foundation if the Leviathan wakes up from its slumber.
Another nice one is SCP-2840.

Omg the eyepod SCPs melted my heart! I’d love to have these little guys as pets!
I like to imagine him and other friendly SCPs like the Reluctant Dimension Hopper meet each other every now and then to chit chat.
scp-1589576
That stuffed bear is so dang wholesome. 😭
Honestly, if you have access to a sapient stuffed bear that can magically stich up organs to save people's lives and you DON'T make sure it has all the materials it needs and access to people who desperately need organs.... well, I sure don't have anything nice to say about you...
Someone: *dying of lung cancer*
Scp 4999: *so, want a cigarette?*
Love how intricately developed the wholesome caps are
They arent just "can't die, angry as f*ck, kills everything"
It's so odd, I dreamed about a half-cat just like Josie about 20 years ago. It was vivid and unnerving 😕
HMMMMMM
that's weirdly interesting
HmhHmhHmmm....
I think you should've mentioned the ordinary murder monster 5031, on the list who used to kill people but, due to a specialized containment experiment, turned quite nice and friendly
"specialized containment experiment"
nah, they just treated him with actual decency 🙄 shouldve been what they did in the first place
i wonder how many other "evil" scps are just upset at their living situations
131 and 999 are pretty cool but I love Ms. Jay the coolest teacher. 4999 is a sad one but at least you won’t pass away alone.
And now 999 is the mascot of Onamia raider speech. Well done!
This is absolutely screaming to be a tv show
4999 is one of my favorites is just so comforting to think about
Also the patchwork bear, I wonder how would he react to someone with damage on their eyes
IM VERY GLAD YOU MENTIONED 529. 529 is possibly my favorite friendly scp besides 5094. There's nothing too deep about it--it's just a half cat vibin!!
I was about to comment the same

SCP-1230 actually causes dreams that not only are an incredible fantasy, tailoring to the main character's wildest imagination. But also can last up to a perceived too hundred years. These adventures are like entire story books greater than anything you read, the greatest series you ever took in, and people in them can forget about their real lives. People that awake from them often are never the same haunted by a life so much better that so abruptly ended. Some even consider them a better life, and upon waking they commit suicide, or suffer depression.
Edit: For more info, a normal sleep cycle passed and they awake only hours after first drifting off.
So did everyone hear about "Peanut" SCP-173 is losing it's official depiction because of it not complying with the Creative Commons Sharealike 3.0? 🤔
Yeah, the original depiction didn't belong to the author. The artist it did belong to allowed it's use, but now the site is changing its guidelines?
Yep but why does that matter here
yes. though the thing to note is they're doing this as an internal decision, even though the artist of the original did give permission, from what I've read.
what
@@rtm117 essentially, you know the main image they've used all this time on the wiki to show 173, the form dubbed 'lord peanut' and there was controversy about the shape in one of the games due to copyright? The wiki has decided to make the site completely creative commons license compliant, and will be removing that iconic image.
The original artist of the piece, had actually given them permission to use it on the wiki still, but not the creators of the game, hence 173's model change. Still, the site has made the decision to remove it as they wouldn't fully meet the compliance by their standards with it up.
That cat Josie has got to be a reference to Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently. In The Salmon of Doubt, there is mention of Dirk Gently and a case he was going to undertake, which kicked off when a lady brought in half a cat. I'd have to dig the book out but I think it was the back half.

scp foundation: we have the most fearsome entities
Backrooms: friends?
I love all the SCP stories. But this video just warms my heart. Especially in these very dark and trying times.
I love how scps span from a time altering god that could end the universe to something mildly odd like a Beatles record with no grooves
Guy : "yo Spanko!"
Spanko, excitedly: "SCREEE SCREEE"
I thought all SCP’s were scary but dang these SCP’s Are just BEAUTIFUL 😭
SCP-1230 (A Hero is Born) would be my first choice of most of these. So many stories are written within my mind on a regular basis, and I would personally enjoy a nice little isekai.

Ah, the friendly SCPs. Let's go, Mates!
Hallelujah, it's about time you showcased friendly scps.
I was watching these scp videos late at night and they were starting to make me anxious, until I found this one 😊
:)
My favorite thing about SCPs is how there are GOOD, NICE and FRIENDLY ones
I mean, why wouldn't there be? The only reason for SCP's to be scary is if that was the only point to them. From what I can tell though, many SCP's are generally benign, if not friendly. So, there isn't any reason why there couldn't be friendly ones.
“They have saved countless lives”
also them: **Make people look away from SCP-173**
@@Videogamefangirl There is another "canon" where 053 is Death of the Four Horseman. 682 being her "horse."
