- SCP 835 JP was a Keter Class re-classified now as a Safe Class anomaly also known as Keteru Yamiko.
SCP-835-JP is described as a teenage girl with long black hair who wears mainly black school uniforms, named Keteru Yamiko.
SCP835JP can teleport from one dark area to another regardless of distance or obstructions; she utilizes this ability to approach, attack, and kill targets quickly with a large kitchen knife in her possession. She is also said to have the ability to control darkness at will.

scp-835-jp once was the fear all foundation members shared of being killed out of nowhere and not being able to do anything about it made manifest, but now its just a little yandere with a knife. the utter deprication of it all.

Actually she's an assassin.
A yandere girl is a girl who is obsessively in love with someone, Sometimes to the point where they will kill the person they love because they don't want the person to ever leave them (I know, it sounds contradictory, but that's what yandere girls do).
However, Keteru Yamiko kills SCP personnel because she is a trained assassin who has been taught to target SCP personnel.
I know, I keep wanting to think of her as a yandere too (because she's depicted as an anime girl who kills people with a knife, and her last name Yamiko does sound a bit like yandere), but she isn't a yandere.

if this scp takes on traits that the staff in the foundation believe it has, then it could potentially be used to help the foundation by having the staff believe it is a powerful friendly anomaly.

My head canon is that the wiki and all the SCP RUclips channels are the SCP Foundation’s way of educating the public about the dangers of SCPs without shattering the veil of secrecy.

The important thing with the entity itself is the shared consciousness perception. Unless a major consensus shift occurs, those tendencies and powers won't change. Thus, even if some started picturing her as a Yandere, they wouldn't have any more impact than the countless others who made Rule 34 art of her. The consensus would remain of her 'canon' appearance.
For another piece of fiction that delves into this, I recommend the anime Re;Creators. A kind of reverse isekai that discusses exactly this phenomenon, and how dangerous a fictional entity with no defined limits can be... And also what *does* stop them.
So someone just finished watching Kill la Kill and said: "what if SCP?"

I finally realized why the SCP is producing and distributing all these videos and stories! They are using the same principle of collective thought power manifestation as Keteru. By getting all of us viewers to imagine the SCP as incredibly powerful and capable, their agency is magically enhanced!
I was wondering if there were other SCP 835's, due to the unique attachment of JP. However, it seems that SCP 835 (normal) is another entity entirely.
I believe the JP attachment means it was catalogued at the japanese branch of the Foundation. Not sure if you know this, but there are several branches of the Foundation at specific countries with their own gallery of " local anomalies ", so to speak. Japan, Italy, France, Russia, etc.

So this SCP is basically just people's fear that is turned into a deadly weapon and by making them less afraid of it, the anomalies turns docile? Wow, what an impressive SCP.

Seeing as this was a cognitohazard, this is also a great time to continue my shilling for my favorite SCP to make an appearance: 370, the Key. A super-creepy mimetic SCP, and honestly what I think of when I think of the Foundation before any of the others you mentioned.
When I first discovered the Foundation, I read the first 1,000, and 370 stuck with me the most! ... oh no, am I infected with 370? I do feel... so very happy...
Eerily similar in containment to SCP-1447, Tulpa.
The researcher who figured out the anomaly is actually genius. I sense some Dr. Bright energy in him for picking up an anime artwork on an SCP that is thought to be one of the most mysterious causes for staff death and got the guy who has drawn it fired, because not all people like dark humor and self-expression at work is not the best way to get a promotion, especially when the place you work at had seen more corpses than some graveyards.
By the way, why didn’t the foundation check the notebook for fingerprints in the first place? I mean, I know that most SCP’s don’t even look like they could, but it’s still important, especially when the SCP itself turns out to be human, instead we have the researcher tell it himself, which is basically sawing off a branch you are standing on, not a good idea for reasons I have mentioned earlier.

My compliments to the creator of the original story. It was actually pretty cool to see how an SCP not only became anime, but also something of a celebrity. I wouldn't mind seeing more Japanese SCPs in the future, if only to see what others anomalies they got in their containment files.

my interpretation of 835-JP from reading the article is that this entity was an actual physical entity (not a metaphysical thought) that actively preyed on foundation personnel, but after it was drawn as an anime girl was way too embarrassed to show its face again, or even really was (or thought it was) a assassin who hasn't shown up anymore because they think their cover is blown

You and the rest of the mtf go out to the transport van after briefing, and there is an anime girl painted on the side. You look down at your rifle, and there is a sticker of an anime girl. You look over at one of your fellow mtf members, and he has a patch of an anime girl on her shoulder. At this point you think you’ve lost it. You ask one of the other mtf member to slap you. He does, and you see an anime girl on his glove. At this point you’re done. You draw your handgun, plastered with a sticker of an anime girl, and shoot yourself twice in the chest. As you fall to the ground, everything blurry, you catch a glimpse of the anime girl on the pistol casings. You shakily reach for your pistol to end it all, when the mtf leader kicks the handgun away. You see the anime girl in his boot. You start crying, begging him to end it, but instead he shouts into his radio. “We need medvac, right now!” He turns to you and yells, “what the hell are you doing private?! Do you want to get demoted to D-class?!” Everything gets blurry. You blink and all of a sudden a helicopter is overhead, with an anime girl painted on the side. Your squad is nowhere to be seen as a medical team loads you on a stretcher. You wake up in a hospital, a poster of the anime girl on the wall. You reach up to pull the IV from your arm, but you don’t have enough energy. You quietly cry to yourself as the nurse comes in with dinner, served on a tray with the anime girl on it. The nurse informs you that the mission was successful, thinking you were injured on the mission. Boy, was she wrong.

I love the idea of Keteru checking some forum about the fear and chaos she is causing the foundation only to find they began selling manga and dakimakura of her.
So, she's the total opposite of SCP 096. Whereas 096 becomes deadlier the more you look at it, 835-JP becomes safer as you look at her.

Well tbh her name itself suggested that she's a keter, and an assassin.
"Keteru" is how japanese pronounce keter, "yami" means dark, while "ko" was taken from komusume, which means girl/lady.
All together, she is "Lady (of the) Dark Keter" .
Lady (of the) Dark-Keter. Keter is a containment classification, Dark is a secondary (esoteric) classification reserved for anomalies that the Foundation has not much information about.
