- SCP 166 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as Just A Teenage Gaea.
SCP-166 is a European female human in its late teens with ungulate features; possessing antlers, hooved feet, and a short tail reminiscent of Rangifer tarandus (Common reindeer). Despite these obvious abnormalities, DNA analysis reveals no abnormal genetic traits.
Within a fifteen-meter radius of SCP166 , artificial objects gradually return to an unworked state.

This video neglects Dr. Alto Clef's most obvious anomalous quality: his face doesn't show up on video, in photographs, etc. For as big as @sshole that Clef can be, it's humanizing to see that he deeply cares for his daughter.

SCP-166 was changed because the original SCP about a teenage succubus was very, very distasteful.
Originally she had an aspect that was indeed very distasteful: men who looked at her would grow wild with desire and try to....... yeah.
I'm really glad they changed that.

A little fun fact about SCP 166: In the story titled "A Suicide Note," it is revealed that her first name is Epon. But that is based on the original transcript of SCP 166, the teenage succubus one.
But besides that, I wonder how SCP 166 would feel finding out that her father is Alto Clef. Sounds like it could be a fun story right there.
Apparently in one what-if story where, by the time SCP 166 is 19 years old, her magic develops and is more in control, enough that she's such an asset that she can disguise herself as a normal human, that she take ballet classes.
It doesn't go into much detail how this happened, the focus was Dr. Clef faking his death AGAIN so he could spend less time with SCP organization and more with his daughter.
Speaking of which, a *different* SCP what-if story has some very juicy information about how Clef is so anomalous, and why he knew people from thousands of years ago like his Wife the Goddess and Lilith. (He once took the name 'Adam' when he was with Lilith, but the same SCP also confirmed there was a real Adam and a fake 'Adam', Clef)
In the SCP 682 and SCP 053 Four Horseman story, 682 admits that as far back as when 682 and Clef starred each other down for ages, 682 knew that Clef was some sort of agent of god, but distorted, but he didn't know which angel. Enlightened 682, when Clef again insisted he was the devil, said he now could see who Clef was, and he wasn't Satan/Lucifer.
Considering how much of SCP Abrahamic lore has connections with the Book of Enoch, my personal guess is that his real name for weapon loving nut is the well known fallen angel Azazel.
That last past is just my speculation though, Clef's true name has yet to be revealed in any story thus far. He has countless fake names.

The implications is that she is, however any and all information on her is in the hands of the GOC. She was in the GOC's crosshairs long before the SCP foundation could learn more about her.

IIRC, it does mention they get along during the whole 239 fiasco, but she seems unaware who he really is. They truly deserve that happy ending after everything.

Don't hate me but the original 166 article was far more terrifying. As a woman who has a huge fear of being raped the idea that an underage girl who has anomalous effect on men making them try to assault her is absolutely and completely horrific and is grade a horror in my opinion. I know that not every scp needs to be primarily horror but i would be interested in writers using sexual elements to create horror. And from what I understand the original author was the one who felt uncomfortable with the article so they changed it.
The OG 166 felt like it was written by a creepy pervert. The fact that 166 was a teenager in the old entry made it even WORSE.
If 166 in the old entry was an ADULT, there probably wouldn't be as much backlash. Just my theory.

I have mixed feelings about the rewrite of this anomaly. I feel this version is lacking the darker and more intriguing elements of the original but the original was grossly sexualised which was made worse by the fact she was a literal child. I feel like there could have been some middle ground found and I’m not sure which version is the better one

Older comment, sorry, and I’d hate to sound rude or disturb someone, but I feel like a lot of folks forget her entire existence is pretty dang dark. I learned Clef’s backstory very early on in my SCP experience, so to me the succubus version always just kinda sounds like she was punished for being conceived.

the old scp-166 got my sympathy. she was not allowed to be near ANY males, with the exception of her father if i recall, as males would become aggresive when spotting her - thus she was not allowed to have a preist to talk to for obvious reasons

This was one of my 1st and favorite stories, I'm glad that you're covering it.
Hmm. In theory, without accepting the stereotypical version of the coalition, the GOC were able to take her under their care, her destructive aura was removed there and they could suppress the "abnormal" sensitivity so that pressure ulcers and ulcer symptoms would not appear. Under his guidance, she would have done a lot of useful things. And under the upbringing, she would hardly have decided to conduct a ritual. It's not clean that the GOC was taken away.
I think this is the bit where it was changed from succubus to gaea as most westerners are uncomfortable with the original entry which is weird since most entries in the SCP wiki are literally unspeakable horrors.
I'm pretty sure the combination of 166 being both a TEENAGER and a SEDUCER made many people understandably creeped out. If they wanted to make a succubus SCP, they should've at least made it a fully grown adult IMO.

i love francis/dr. clef. his story is so tragic and god i love him, he’s so strong and i will always root for him.
I wasn't aware they had rewritten this SCP. It's understandable why they would though.
It's weird that they say she would return things to the Stone Age but her power doesn't degrade the books or inks in them unless they were made specifically using natural inks. There was a lot of advancements made after the Stone Age that didn't involve processing materials into plastics and other such pollutants. Also the reason people behaved they way they did is because they we focused on survival we have since evolved into other types of thinking. So I don't think it'd as bad as the foundation thinks, unless of course her powers affect other SCPs or their containment.

A question remains for me, what if Dr. Clef had instead, told the Serpent's hand of 166 rather than the Foundation?
Since he is a (former) GOC operative and it is unlikely that the hand was carried. And the hand of the snake is a gathering of different personalities and it's not a fact that someone from the hand of the snake turned to her well and would use her in their interests.

I like the original version of this story more due to the sexual horror element but the fact the original was a teenager was super problematic. It’s probably for the best this was changed even if I liked the original ones concept more.
tbf you can write about "problematic" things without endorsing them, it's just really really hard to not at least sound like you are when you have to go into detail about delicate topics such as this.
@@ChakkyCharizard I totally get what you’re saying and I’m not generally super concerned about art being “problematic” but the way the original is written combined with the, in my opinion, unnecessary detail that the subject is a teenager does give it creepy vibes in a way that I don’t think the author intended
