SCP 3008 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Infinite Ikea.
SCP-049 is a humanoid entity, roughly 1.9 meters in height, which bears the appearance of a medieval plague doctor.
SCP049 will become hostile with individuals it sees as being affected by the Pestilence, often having to be restrained should it encounter such. If left unchecked, SCP-049 will generally attempt to kill any such individual.
SCP-3008 is a large retail unit previously owned by and branded as IKEA, a popular furniture retail chain. A person entering SCP3008 through the main entrance and then passing out of sight of the doors will find themselves translocated to SCP-3008-1.
SCP 3008 1 is a space resembling the inside of an IKEA furniture store, extending far beyond the limits of what could physically be contained within the dimensions of the retail unit.

This is actually a win-win for both Clef and the Plague Doctor.
049 gonna have so much zombified ikea staff that he could become a soft of god and be worshiped by thhe ikea survivors
And also anyone who happens upon the good doctor within the Infinite IKEA.
Also a win for the survivors in 3008.

Yeah, seeing him this happy and actually HELPING people? My heart is warm 🥹 the survivors have a much better chance at living and since he’s got all the staff he needs to experiment on he won’t kill his “assistants”
I feel like in this environment surrounded by people astonished by his “work” the Doctor would thrive, both scientifically and emotionally. He has some purpose here, and he can do good and win the love and respect of people, which is what he ultimately wants.
I like how the Doctor can easily be a villain but in certain hellish situations actually emerges as a potential saviour.

Yea and if they made him doing important things he could be a good member of SCP.F
I like how SCP-049 is actually fine with the camp members. He knows they're infested with the pestilence, yet chooses not to kill them. There were multiple moments throughout the story that I thought he was just gonna wipe them out
Well according to Dr. Clefs information, 049 thought that the camp members are part of his staff or assistants so it kind of makes sense that he would not attack or kill them, plus him finding out about the 3008-2s makes them a much higher priority from his perspective if that makes sense
He likely doesn't think they're infected. SCP-049, contrary to popular belief, doesn't think everyone has it. He even was impressed that the SCP Foundation had "so little of the Pestilence"
@@PyroGothNerd correct me if I'm wrong, but the pestilence might be either human corruption or unethicality

This is actually sad, I was nearly in tears when he was tricked into the IKEA. He just wants to help, he didn’t deserve that 😞
Right? I want to be SCP-049s best friend.
I feel like he is more happy here. He has an endless amount of test subjects, quite a lot of assistants, and can make his own lab with all the furniture. He seems overjoyed by the thought that he made a “scientific breakthrough” Plus, at some point in the video, the narrator states “it was a win win for 049 and Dr. Clef.” 049 seems pretty grateful to me. This is better than being locked up in a cell for the rest of his life.
I still feel bad for him
Yeah at least he made some friends
I felt bad that SCP-049 was tricked too, but he does seem to be much happier in the Infinite IKEA. He has infinite test subjects and assisstants, and no Foundation to confiscate his zombies. He can research to his heart's content.

Dr bright really isn't that bad of a person he's just a man in agony over the fact that he will be alone for eternity he suffers from severe depression because of it
Yall ever wonder if the plague doctor can make a more efficient cure for the pesilence... using the pestilence itself? Like, with a physical sample of it, taken from the coffee machine
@@Scp-Staff if 049 is still searching for an actual cure to the pestilence (not counting a proceedure that cures it, like making a zombie), then that means there is none, and by the way the coffee machine works, that is, not creating the substance, but syphooning it from the world around him, meaning that if scientists asked for, lets say, liquid diamonds, it would not work, since there IS no liquid diamond in real life
The pestilence isn't physical, it's the same psychic entity the SCP Foundation declared war on humanity in an attempt to kill in 'SCP-5000 Why?'. Notice how his 'cured' subjects don't feel pain anymore?
The 'cure' produced by SCP 294 would likely be a bioweapon that would result in an XK Class end of the world scenario.

Nice Dr. Doofenshmirtz reference lol
He’s so sweet and polite I Empathize with him 😢
I never seen 049 such a happiest person in his life, truly heartwarming i must say.
Even though he causes such disaster, the fact 049 is so earnest and honest in his desire to help makes you feel bad when he's mistreated. It's too bad we just don't know if the pestilence is really a thing or not. But even if it isn't, he really isn't hurting others deliberately or out of malice. I wouldn't mind seeing more of this what if that hopefully lets him be the hero.
Dr. Mengele was sincere and honest too.
Check scp 5000 you’ll find ur answer of what pestilence is
@@1mol831 I don't recall that ever explicitly being confirmed as what the pestilence was in that story or even hinted at.
you have a good point
ye agreed.i think everything can be solved if he wore another layer of gloves.
I definitely hope 049 says to his new "research partners": "oh by the way, don't touch my hands, they can kill you too" because 049 deserves to live in a place where he can be happy with the people around him.
Doubt it takes too long for some poor sod to touch him and well, rest learn about his problems soon enough, though i'm now invested to see how this will end..Sounds like it could go rather well... least to foundation that is, not sure about his "research assistants"
@@Hellsong89 i like the idea of him just chilling with all of em never trying to kill them but not over protective
I asked about that on Reddit, and it's kind of implied he can control his deadly touch, seeing as he's able to be restrained
I think they can figure it out on their own.
I am curious about the limits of his kill touch. Can he kill the Hard to Kill reptile or certain "immortal" characters like Dr. Bright? If he looks at 096 Shy Guy can he kill the shy guy with his touch before the Shy Guy kills him? Can his ability kill through the backrooms?
In my opinion if I were the guy in charge of watching the plague doctor, I would do the same thing. However I would hear him out first of what his perception of pestilence is, then talk about what his work is doing to the people in a third person perspective.
I would send him to ikea but with a LOT more medical tools and tell him about the actual situation and that if he could find a way to make the staff human, alive, and well by modern standards of society; then he could have an audience with the head directors of the SCP foundation to explain his theory.
I need a part 2 this has got to be an entire story arc
I can't stand seeing SCP-049 lead on so many times like this. Please just let him have ONE victory!
I like him he’s not evil he just wants to cure something
I mean. He kinda did get a W. He got respect for his deeds by the survivors, and he might even have a way to help the survivors thrive while continuing his research.
There is one of the tales where SCP-049 helps a sentient mosquito find her human kids and a safe place to raise them in the aftermath of the world's destruction. He even vets them all as being safe from the pestilence. That's the tragedy of 049: a decent creature 95% of the time, but who may kill anyone on a whim.
Not only Dr. Clef got rid of 049, but 049 got what he wanted. More research and actual assistants he can command. It's a win win for everyone. His "assistants" can ensure their safety to 049 as long as they give them what he wants, 049 can continue his research on the IKEA employees, and Dr. Clef happy not to deal with 049 anymore.
Yeah, Its not Even Bad to live on there, theres supplies to survive, its like endless House but shop

I really like it when they use SCP to counter or contain SCPs. Especially when the key and lock matches.
I know that the plague doctor is this godlike monster, but he's genuinely nice and polite and doesn't kill out of bloodlust. He doesn't seem to mean any particular harm
It really depends on your interpretation of him, this channel has a rather nice Scp 049, a little naive perhaps, while the original scp 049 is more darker than this one.
@@darklex5150 true
@@darklex5150 Still, in the original he is still a polite doctor who genuinely wants to help cure people of pestilence but not sure how.
I like to think that he’s not actually misunderstanding anything
And 049 is just right about the staff being late stage effects of the pestilence
And dr.clef one day just fins out he accidentally put 049 exactly where he needed to be to find the missing parts of his cure
I think if there's anywhere where 049 can helpfully research the "Pestilence" it is on the staff of Project Pneuma or Damerung.
The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So wakeup Doctor, Wake up and. Smell the ashes.
Part 2 please. It's a trip seeing a dangerous/bad SCP being used for good and appreciated.
1 If Killing anomalies is not allowed at SCP then how do they explain their attempts to kill SCP 682, the hard to kill reptile? Continuity error maybe or was a special exception made for the reptile?
2. Interesting place to put the plague doctor. I wonder if he also might be an interesting character to stick into the back rooms?
3. If they put the Plague Doctor through the clockwork machine on the highest setting maybe he will come out as someone who is actually SANE and really CAN and DOES cure disease?
To your first question, we only do this too SCPs which are too dangerous,
About your second question, we aren't able now to make a scenario of it,
About your third question, SCP-049 is one of our favorite SCPs and we don't want to risk to lose him.
1. 682 is a unique case, since he poses such a huge threat.
2. The problem is all the dangerous entities that live in the backrooms. They're not suitable test subjects, so 049 would have to resort to experimenting on the surviving humans.
3. That's the thing, 049 IS sane, he's just very secretive and cryptic about what he's working to cure. In another video he mentions that in order to protect both himself and others he cannot talk about certain things, which suggests there may be a memetic factor to the Pestilence. Also, 914 is unpredictable, you're not guaranteed to get your desired result out of it.
914 doesnt just upgrade, it completely changes, which means 049 as we know it will be gone forever, while something else is given in return, something unknown and unpredictable

I have a fan theory: “The Pestilence is the Biblical Pestilence in the form of a disease.”
Sounds like an interesting theory.
Please don't bring 343 or The Gate Guardian into this.
Ok, better theory, 049 is the pestilence
@@jaykay8426 Another theory. The pestilence is a high form of mutation. That in the universe where 049 might've originated from. It was a disease. Causing people to mutate into a species seperate from his own. as perhaps where he originated from. Everyone looked alot like him. Though what ever this pestilence was caused them to mutate into more humanoid entities. With actual facial features rather then a mask for a face. Which is why 049 mistakes any humanoid other then himself. Has the pestilence.
I read somewhere that SCP-343 (God) spoke with 049 once. He deduced that the “great pestilence” the plague doctor spoke of was humanity’s free will, and the plague doctor was *very* upset by this and kicked him out of his containment cell.
Why did this channel make the Plague Doctor such a sweet little cinnamon roll of a good boy? If only he didn't zombify people, I'd be more than happy to serve him tea every day and let him teach me about medicines.
Well from the little I've seen he is very nice, well mannered and polite.
And he tends to kill people he sees as being severely afflicted by the 'pestillence" and the zombification is his imperfect cure. It's a little sad, it as it seems his intentions are good and he does these things in the name of the greater good, to cure people
@@charityquill4965 was the pestilence ever defined? Back when I read his entry years ago, I got the impression that the pestilence was humanity. Things like emotions etc. Have they changed that?
@@arhalts I think in the lore now the pestilence is just the plaque which stopped killing people

I swear 049 is one of the most polite skips ever and one of the least evil, despite the properties he has. The results of his actions are not desirable necessarily, but that doesnt make him "evil" imo.
Given how the Foundation has a habit of seeing how certain SCPs can be used to deal with other, more out-of-control SCPs, I'm surprised this idea didn't occur to them sooner.
You should actually continue this, one of the best videos i've ever scene on 3008.
Id love see a part 2 to this. Either he realizes hes in another anomoly, and the staff are not late stage pestilence victims, or he somehow makes progress with his experiments on them at that encampment
Theory: The pestilence is the ability/chance of a human to become an anomaly, so those in the infinite Ikea are "immune" as nothing can effect them within the ikea besides death. Once a human is an anomaly they either no longer register as human to the doc as they have changed so much(Tunnel Monster, Cain, etc) or they are simply a late stage infection as they are only a puppet to an anomaly(Flesh That Hates, When Day Breaks victims, etc)
So if Ikea staffers are transformed human victims that register as late stage infection to him and as those in Ikea can only be effected if they die so they are "immune".
SCP has a lower rate of those who could potentially become an anomaly as they know about the anomalies and know how to prevent themselves from becoming effected. On the other hand, D-class who nearly always are seen as infected as they are put in situations where they are far more likely to be effected or become an anomaly.
hmm I really like that Theory. It would fit well with the rest of the universe and provided answers to some of the anomaly origins. Omg! what if that's why SCP-682 hates humans so much!
I thought the pestilence was pain. Remember the chimp he cured. It was in a blissful state. The zombies being the result of a botched attempt to cure humans.
I think The Pestilence is Suffering.
Or some form of human negativity that can supposedly turn a person devoid of the joys of being a human. At least in the perspective of the Doctor.
Normally human negativity doesn't mutate creatures into anomalies, but I think that some anomalies portray a rather concentrated form of human suffering.
Take the amalgamations of When Day Breaks, or the "horrifying malformations" of the "Ikea Employees" with their aggressive behavior.
@@gastonfourt5363 I think the issue with it being suffering would be that not everyone has the pestilence in the docs eyes and that he finds the scp, or at least the staff remarkable pestilence free. So there has to be something that makes it a) not applicable to everyone and b) something that would be less likely to be present in the scp personal without the scp foundation realizing they were. I feel like suffering is to broad for anyone to really be immune, while I can see the chance of someone becoming an anomaly fluctuating depending on circumstance.
Plus that might explain the idea of it being the "great dying" as in humans becoming rare as more and more become anomalies and not human.
I like this theory. Best I have head so far👍
I have a feeling that the Plague Doctor will prioritize the more advanced stages of the pestilence ("The Staff") and thus will actually value and protect his assistants who may have less severe cases. Still, he could terminate you at any moment. However, since the Ikea is infinite, there may exist groups of humans that may never encounter the Plague Doctor or any of his zombified staff and assistants.
This dude is my favorite SCP, he is blinded by the fact that he is a danger, yet he wants to do the right thing, he is a really cool dude. i like him a lot
I feel bad for the plague doctor all he wants to do is be a scientist and do his work

Can this please become a series because this is awesome it would be cool for the plague doctor to actually be admired
I agree and they can make a series called "plague doctors adventures" where he travels to see other scp's and learn how they work.
@@SnowAngelAJ hed probably kill so many of them from mistaking the scps anomalous abilities for the pestilence that would put the goc to shame
@@epicnormalguy464Eh not really, i mean they would only stay dead for the video.
@@SnowAngelAJ yeah but its possible that the plague doctor is way more then we think
@@epicnormalguy464 like how?
I seriously need a part 2 this is amazing
This was surprisingly somehow wholesome
2:04 made me literally lol
I can only imagine what Clef uses those ball and chains for back at his "leisure room".
and I that room he has a picture of every single SCP he hates along with a secret stash of shotguns and ammo
imagne like a year later the plague doctor
just comes out screaming that he found a cure for the pestilence with an army of the employees behind him
Is it just me or i really like Plague Doctor??? I really like his personality 😊
Honestly I’ve stepped on so many pointy things that it doesn’t bother me anymore. Yeah I’ve had glass in my foot for about 4 days, yes I’ve had many splinters, yes I’ve stepped on legos, but I’m gonna still walk inside and outside barefoot. Sometimes when it’s hot I like washing my car and I purposely get my socks soaking wet to help me cool down. I don’t mind wet socks, I DO mind wet sleeves
Now i know what growing in Brazil feels like.
I am so sorry for the poor guy, he just wanted to be treated like real doctor and researcher😥
yeah 😔
Why not let 049 input the description of the pestilence into a superintelligent AI
🤣🤣🤣 That like feeling sorry for a killer that donate the organs of his victims.
why do I get the feeling Clef is going to be punished by being forced to listen to Dr Bright's bad jokes for a week for this lol.
The Plague Doctor is my fav anomaly by far. He is a true gentleman of an SCP, and a smart one at that. I would love for him to teach me how to reanimate corpses into zombies so I could use them as henchmen and miners and such. He is very cool.
Part 2? Will there be a part 2? This story ended so abruptly, I need more to it!
Bro we need a part 2, this was so good!
Clef’s plan is actually genius! If the place is such a paradise to him, he won’t be inclined to try and escape, not without his final, perfected cure in hand!
ok now you have to make this a series consider this the pilot and please make more of this i wanna see what happens next
A part 2 or even 3 would be sick!
THIS IS INCREDIBLE.
things I learnt:
3008 is now thaumiel.
049 is gonna be angry when he finds out he was tricked, but at least he still has test subjects, so he's probably happy.
049 should prooooobably get some oven gloves to not accidently kill the survivors, but he could take them off for fighting off staff.
I WANT TO SEE MORE SCP CROSSOVERS.
Perhaps 096 in rainbow friends?
I know it's not an SCP buuuut...
*Come on it's a good idea.*
It isnt
@@vicator and that is your opinion
@@strangecolouredbird rainbow friends in the scp universe wouldnt make a single bit of sense. sure its my opinion but i doubt the creators of this video even know what a ¨rainbow friends¨ is.
Even if 096 was put into rainbow friends he would just kill everything except green
@@vicator you do realize the scp universe(s) don’t even make sense right?
I would REALLY love to see this continued, my 2 favorite SCP's coming together like this turned out to be way more interesting than I thought.
The Doc is really just a good person to talk to in all honesty. I would love to converse with him and ask him question of his pestilence curing past.
PLEASE WE NEED A PART 2 TO THIS HECK AN ENTIRE SERIES
This is so interesting to me
I love this, I can only imagine the survivors starting a cult for the plague doctor while the doc just does what he regularly does
I think survivors will not form cult, but simply be his assistants, that will learn from him and believe him. So he will teach them everything he knows and form research Institute in Ikea. Who knows, maybe they will figure everything out.
"You poor birdie bastard" 😂 was all I could say throughout the video. More, please! This is fantastic!
I NEED A SERIES OF THIS OMG
Poor SCP-049.. people say to me he's evil, to me, just be kind to him, and he won't bother you, and you could essentially befriend him, he may be able to kill you and he may be delusional, but he, to me, is also a person, a living thing.. he has emotions too, and I think he just needs someone relatable, maybe even give him an already existing vaccine, and show him saying, "hey! Great news doctor! We found the cure!-" and say some fake components that were added in it, and maybe he will believe you. Just don't forget to mention SCP-049 helped. He would be so thrilled, and excited, you could even teach him how to do it, and give him test subjects ofcourse, as assistants, and just ask him if he is satisfied with the pestilence gone, if he says it's still out there, just ask questions how to prevent getting it, even though it doesn't exist, he may think you're genuinely interested, and want to prevent it. Ofcourse telling him people were healthy didn't work, but say they were unhealthy, just to trick him.. he's my favorite SCP, he can be so kind, even though it's a trick, you can gain his trust.

Dr. W. *Redacted*
I have a new theory on what the peetilence is, I believe the pestilence is the precense of extreme anomalous alterations. Like the lack of organs or the lack of a face.
But what about humans?
@@roboticartist2793 If you think about it, sentience does kind of seem like an anomaly itself, right?
@@MemeFlavoredJam true, think about all the items that become anomalies just by gaining sentience. Though there is that one sentence that still infects my nightmares "did you know humans aren't supposed to feel pain." from a story that the scp go's insane because humans are all infected by an anomaly.
@@Hylander27 tbh that no pain thing doesn't make sense at all, according to evolution, good story in 5000 tho
i love how this channel humanizes the SCP'S regardless of how inhuman they originally made to be.
I would do anything for a part 2 of this amazing video. 🙂
I feel so bad. This guy is nice.
Okay, but now I really want to see what 049 would do if he was actually given a research lab.
The same thing he was doing before the foundation found him or before the foundation even existed.
He'd be researching
he'd probably research medical anomalies for the foundation
He would probably infinitely research a cure for a disease that doesnt exist.
I like to know what the plague doctor does in SCP 3008.
Hope they make a sequel.
This would totally make a good video series like if you made a part two where the plug doctor like somehow finds a way to cure the staff
This is a beautiful episode...I want a sequel to this 049 in the Infinite IKEA series
