I’m an apprentice barber, and learned/learning on a 76 and cordless magic clip. I recently purchased a special edition corded fast feed modified with a ceramic blade. When I first started learning , I researched the history of barbering in this country and was proud to buy American made products. I’m old school and a sucker for the heritage that Oster/Wahl and Andis products give you. I know most consumers don’t ever think Or possibly care, but if the product is made in the USA ,it was a lot more expensive to produce/make, then a product made in China, due to labor cost alone. So yes that cordless fast feed may cost a bit more or the same than other clippers but it also cost a lot more to make. You’re also supporting working Americans.

I’m definitely big on buying American Made they just need to make at least on par quality. The original fast feed was great 👍🏼

Im a barber first and cosmetologist for over 30 years . I've experienced using many clippers and brands . Oster is by far number 1 when it comes to power , durability, engineering and mechanism. Compare that to newer brand clippers there's no comparison imo. I do agree with your opinion about the lack luster design . All that said , personally i have certain brands of clippers to achieve a specific task . Oster do not make good trimmers/ finishing clippers so i use other brands . They also need shavers and improve on their magnetic clippers for barbers who prefer that mechanism which are widly used in the industry. They should hire better creative designers . Once those criterias are met and improved , they would be in a class by itself imo . Its possible because of their mechanism why its bulky. They should improve on the Octane design, which was sleek but didn't compromise power . Maybe an Octane with a level and complement it with a great trimmer for shaving and shape ups .

The fast feeds are dope out the box no adjustments needed good for laying the waves down and they fade out of this world💯🔥First time using fast feeds and I absolutely love how they cut and oddly enough I like how they feel in my hand. I enjoy them more than the cordless masters‼️

Too many good options for it to compete. Especially with the philthyblends mod for that blade

I'm looking at the Oster corded Fast Feed to replace my ~10 yr old Oster Star-teq that's falling apart on me lol. I mainly use it for my personal beard trimming and an occasional haircut or 2 for the boys every few months. I am by no means a barber, just want a durable replacement that'll last me another 10 yrs since this Star-teq has outlasted any Wahl clippers I've ever owned. Would you recommend it? Or is there another clipper you'd recommend

@thewoodshedbarber thanks for the response! Seen it for $89 on Amazon, was expecting them all to be $200+ so that's a good start already.

People like the ceramic blade cause it makes the tool zero gape-able which the original blade doesn’t but the original blade is set just right to take out the guideline of a fade or taper I love my regular blade that came with it and won’t switch it out I rather my corded fast feed than the cordless one cordless anything is trash

Also side note: maybe some of these other newer companies claiming outrages run times, are actually not accurate. I watched other reviewers who complain that many clippers don’t actually run as long as advertised on a single charge.

most people say it isnt for cutting bulk and its only for fading is that true?

I use a oster 76 with a vacuum attachment all day everyday at my shop and no system can put out faster and better haircuts

My Dad rolled with that same setup for years. It's all preference. Now Faster? Hands down but Better? Better is a Barber Argument. Any system is made good by the one holding the Clippers. Barber Love!
