- These accidental job screw-ups got people fired. In 2017, anchor Natasha Exelby got caught spacing out and staring at her pen while live on-air. In 2019, a Brinks guard was fired after getting robbed at gunpoint by three suspects. In Sacramento, California, John Szczecina got fired after accidentally setting the price of gas to $.69 instead of $6.99. Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall has more.

Why was the Brinks guard working alone? If she was guarding that much money, she should have had a partner to help protect her and the money. Expecting her to guard the money by herself was just inviting someone to try and rob her. Her supervisor should have been fired, not her.
Even with that mistake (that's probably on her, because his/her companion is still probably inside the store) she had mistakes on HER own. When you're a brink guard you receive and have a FORMATION that specify literally the protocol about how you have to do it to exactly avoid robberies, you're getting paid for THAT. But she somehow opened the door when she would had to do it from inside the vehicle and she did it on a parking with people.

If the bus driver had a note to drop that child off anywhere else but home, I agree with her being fired. But if someone dropped the ball at the school, and the note never made it to the driver….The bus driver was doing EXACTLY what she was supposed to do…Drop the child off at the child’s home. The video said “The school was REPORTEDLY given the note with these instructions”. Doesn’t specify if the driver had it or not.

@@Happythings354 not following SOP does not seem loyal to the fullest. It is normal to lose your job when showing you cant perform it.
Some of these were pretty obvious grounds for job termination, however I think the first two were not handled well. The news firm that fired the anchor who was simply spaced out playing with her pen, and brinks security firing the helpless armored vehicle driver should be facing backlash from society for such pitiful standards. Companies like that should be held legally accountable for an entire year’s salary of the victim, if court of law deems a person’s termination is unreasonable!
She should be investigated for Inside Job actually
@@xrizbira actually they tried to blame her for it being an inside job, however there was another guard INSIDE the truck who knew what was happening. They did nothing, they watched it happen.
The only ones where termination was a bit controversial was the news anchor one and the bus driver one. Everything else is reasonable enough for firing. For the armored truck one it was handled poorly. She was fired because of the violations she did which lost the company money. According to someone else she opened the truck in a spot that violates or something?? She also handled the situation poorly as she was the only one visible and who was opening the truck to do whatever and is 100% vulnerable to anything that could've happened, which in this case was 3 robbers sitting 2-3 cars away with weapons.
@@oxymoron8790 yeah at first it seemed unreasonable to me too, but apparently the spot she was in was not a zone for loading money, and all the bags that were already inside the truck should have been secured inside a safe, not just loosely tossed in there. @@noonebutme Yeah, she really put herself at risk when doing that and usually if random people with no experience in that field can identify she was likely doing something wrong, then she's probably doing something wrong. Getting robbed wasn't why she was fired, she wasn't doing her job. 1: The rest of the money in the truck was suppose to be locked in the safe, it was not (should have only been able to steal what she carried out, but she didn't follow basic job protocol. 2: Don't load the cash alone, this is incredibly dangerous and puts all their employees in danger. They wouldn't care that she got on her knees, 1: she's a female and not intimidating one at that (so they clearly don't expect you to fight back), and 2: that's potential lawsuits or just a few cars with new holes in them might cost more than what was stolen (unless she's a really good aim, but I doubt this, security guards just like police have bare minimal training).
If she followed company policy they would have lost far less money, hence she was fired. Don't be a security guard and ignore the basic rules for safety taking shortcuts like that.
You think the 69 cents was *really* an accident? King knew what he was doing.
kings and queens and michael jordan rings
The first two were kind of harsh. One was just a simple mistake and the other had her life threatened and it was three against one
The gas station one I understand, but I admire the guy for admitting to his mistake and owning up to it
The fourth one was justified. I am just glad that the girl was found and brought to safety
Lol she broke protocols, simple ones too. Never open up the back door of a bank truck in an area like that and always have a second guard with you.
How could one person not be honest enough to tell the gas station about the mistake? Sad.
The News reporter and the Brinks guard shouldn't have been fired. Imagine getting fired for only trying to save your life? That company is disgusting.

@@jakegarrett8109 I agree with you but on her behalf, example all the money was on the safe she was still trying to save her life she's wrong but right too.

@@TheRealTestFry2024 Where? Also I meant the other one not ABC.
Its understandable for the company to re hire security after a failure in their procedure, the guard is thinking about their lives, they about their money.
The last one I had something like that almost happen to someone on my bus as a kid in elementary school but the whole bus was telling the bus driver this isn't we're she's supposed to go and she listened bec we were loud 🔊
So were those armed robbers caught? I hope so, and I hope they're spending decades in prison.
I watched the video numerous times for the brinks driver. I believe she was in on the robbery. She was waaayyy too calm and I didn’t sense any type of panic. She was also moving a bit too slow. I don’t think anyone else should have been fired. The bus driver was a substitute and dropped the child off home, which drivers usually do. The little girl should have said something to the bus driver and she didn’t have to leave her house she could have waited. I’m sure a neighbor would have seen her outside alone and assisted.
1:27 That’s why there should be two other guards in the truck. She was alone and she never knew because it was a fast planned robbery. It was not her fault and she should not have been fired.
I’m really curious what protocol Brinks claimed she broke. I used to work security and I would’ve done the same thing she did…sorry, but even with my firearm that’s still 3 vs 1 and I’m not dying to protect someone else’s money. Bet if she would’ve tried to fire her weapon she would’ve been in trouble for that too.
Really glad I turned down that job offer from Brinks a few years ago.
0:50 I don’t understand how she got fired for this it’s not her fault when 3 people come out of a car with guns drawn theirs only one of you and three of them if you reach for you gun their going to shoot you people don’t think before they fire people this is not her fault
@@chasemckay7442 true but still have some empathy for her my dude.
@@johntalton6805, she was definitely in on it. Her boyfriend was one of the robbers and was arrested.
@@johntalton6805 bruh $100000 is still $100000. People have been fired for less
@@JurassicBlaze where’d you find that? I’ve looked at a ton of articles and not one said she was arrested or her boyfriend was one of the robbers.
@@anshukandulna1844 yeah I know and I’m not saying she didn’t deserve getting fired, she did for sure, but let’s just be grateful she’s alive for goodness sakes.
Okay, so the Brinks thing….I would have done the same….I am a mother FIRST….I’m doing whatever it takes to come home to my babies!
Also the news anchor shouldn’t have been fired for “starring off into space” that’s just not okay, everyone does it!
The gas price dude, probably was an honest mistake, BUT he should have TRIPLE CHECKED!
The substitute bus driver should have lost her job and CDL to drive bus & done some community service.
Then don’t do the job, also she broke many protocols such as Not having the money locked up, opening the back door in an area where you aren’t supposed to, and not having a second guard with you.
The woman in the cash truck shouldn't've been fired, the money is insured.
Their protocol was you couldn't open the brinks back in a no cash open zone and you needed to have a partner with you while doing it she violated 2 rules so I don't blame them for firing her.
man really said “i have committed several atrocities during my time as a bus driver”
I wanna know what the brinks driver did that violated protocol. I’m an atm repair tech and I see route drivers do this all the time. Single person with a hand truck. The guys were hiding so not like they were standing around her and she opened the door. She did the right thing and not firing on them. The money isn’t worth your life
Its her fault still she wasn't supposed to open the door
@@Arian_TG.2 Then how was she gonna load the truck with the money? Edit: nvm another comment explained it
@@Nopacience ok
The reporter got a raw deal. Even though she screwed up, it was a cute screw up and she recovered. We all can relate to that. As others have pointed out: It should have been the camera man who got fired for failing to do a countdown before going live.
