I made jurkey with ground venison last night for the first time and just used a hickory pack. It was ok. But I'm excited to make this home made one. Thanks for the recipe. I will let you know how i like it.

Boy it sure looked good Josh! The marinade recipe seems like the perfect blend. Nice job buddy!🙂👏👏👏

That is a great recipe!! I will have to try it. I will have to check and see if I have a deer roast that I can do. I bought a slicer this year and was planning to do some before our deer camp trip in November. Most of the time I use deer burger to make jerky but I thought I didn't have any until I got in the freezer. So this year I had the deer burger jerky at camp. Thanks for sharing the recipe and how you do it. Juddie - J & J TOA

@@joshandhuntersadventures5046 Anytime!
I have some jerky in the dehydrator right now, i did not see your video before i marinated mine, but ive been doing mine the exact same way for years and it is delicious, the only thing i do different in not add the ketchup.
This is a great recipe a lot of people have tried it and they love it my all time favorite thanks for watching
Same recipe I always use but I use a little more onion and garlic powder. Also quarter cup of brown sugar other than that exactly the same and I agree best jerky ever.
Awesome I will half to try the brown sugar little sweet and heat mixture. Sounds good
@@joshandhuntersadventures5046 yes give it a try, also if you hunt geese try the same thing. The goose jerky is phenomenal. Duck works well too.

Rotating is great idea.
I agree seems to cook evenly thanks for stopping by and watching
I rotate every hour and a half and i use a knife so mine arnt always the same thickness. I try to place the same thickness on the same shelf.
I have used a knife a bunch to and you just half to be a little more careful on the thickness of them. Thanks for watching we appreciate it
Do you have a venison summer sausage recipe video by chance ?
I do not I have not tried summer sausage yet
Does this recipe work well with ground deer meat, great video 👍🏽
I have never tried ground so I really don’t know
Ok thanks
Just a question should we follow the recipe your wrote down in the descrption or the one you explained on the video because the amounts are different. Thanks
Depends on the weight you are doing I doubled it for pounds I was making
@@joshandhuntersadventures5046 Makes sense thanks for the reply.
Do you preheat in the oven prior to bring to temp or no? Have some in now, just want to be safe. Thanks for your help!
No don’t pre heat
@@joshandhuntersadventures5046 thanks!
What temperature do you set it at
Around 150 degrees
4:25 You are gone to get $h*t on!! Bahahah! Great video!
Hahaha I just went back and listened I have no idea what that would even be from but that is hilarious lol.
Who’s hollerin “You are going to get shit on!” In the background?😂😅
Not for sure that I have noticed that lol will half to look and see
What's your go to dehydrator
My dehydrater is a Nesko brand you can follow the link in my description to see it on Amazon. Thanks for watching we really appreciate it
So I’m trying to find a great recipe for my jerky, and I do have to say it does look pretty good, I just dont know about the ketchup, so I’m wondering what is the ketchup for? Is it like just a ingredient to bind everything together and you can really taste it? Or can u really taste the ketchup in it??
You don’t taste the ketchup at all I would about guarantee if you try this you will love this jerky recipe it is by far the best I have ever tried just look at the comments on this post of the people that have said they liked it
@@joshandhuntersadventures5046 after I commented yesterday I scrolled through the comments and saw everyone was loving it so I said you know what we just gonna go for it, whipped up a batch with my venison yesterday afternoon and gonna put it in the dehydrator in a couple hours!!very excited to try this like I said it looks amazing that you for sharing this with people🙏oh and the smell 🤤🤤delicious, work of art right here!!😂
@@joshschuch4028 thanks I hope you enjoy it would love to here from you after you finish and get to try it. Again thanks for watching and commenting
I left out the ketchup
Yep that's the same recipe I use
Awesome thanks for stopping by
4:27 volume up lol
Lol 👍
Do you not have to use curing salt have you used this on ground meat jerky before that you use jerky gun
Never use curing salt cause it doesn’t last more than 3 days in my house and it is gone. And I have not used the ground meat I don’t care for the texture.
@@joshandhuntersadventures5046 so is curing salt only to preserve it
@@jmanjman4427 ya i always refrigerate mine. don't last long anyway to good to let and set long.
Will this work for burger jerky?
I have used it with beef roast and it is really good never tried it with ground jerky so I can’t speak for that
Is there a reason why more people choose to use roast instead of tenderloin?
Don’t ever use your best cut of meat from a deer save those back straps for a treat and use roast as your jerky.
@@joshandhuntersadventures5046 I will try it with roast this time. Thank you for sharing your recipe.
@@ANONYMOUSDISCIPLER I think you will like it
Would this work for ground deer jerky?
Not sure how the marinade would work but you could give it a try.
@@joshandhuntersadventures5046 I’ll give it a go and let you know how it goes!
@@ryanallen6083 awesome let me know
@@joshandhuntersadventures5046 It was AMAZING!! I let 5 other guys that make jerky all the time try it and they said it was the best they had ever had. They all asked for the recipe. I referred them to your video! I did add 1 tsp of minced garlic per pound. Because I love garlic. Lol Thanks again!
@@ryanallen6083 awesome that is great to hear thanks for sending them to the video. Really appreciate that
I have a batch marinating now. I totally copied your recipe. Anxious to see how it turns out
Awesome lots of people really have liked it I hope it turns out great we really like it thanks for watching
No curing salt?
I don’t use any no
@@joshandhuntersadventures5046 I had planned on marinating some deer tonight for the first time, have the same dehydrator but couldn't find any curing salt. Think I'll give this recipe a shot
I never use any mine always turns out great
Was that recipe for one pound? sounded like you went to two pounds. I just wanted to get it right thanks
Yes it is for 2 pounds I did another video a couple weeks ago just on the marinade if you want to check it out. It’s on the channel. Guaranteed you will like this recipe. Thanks for watching
The way he just ignores the screaming wife in the background at 4:20
Oh you know lol you got to what you got to do lol
you did 2. 1/2 teaspoons of salt why not just use 1 teaspoon?
Yes I could have
*Saw you at Full Time Dream. Here in Texas, jerky is a daily occurrence! Nice video on Deer Jerky. You make it seem so easy. We have some videos you would like come check us out*
Thanks for coming over I will check you guys out
@@joshandhuntersadventures5046 Thanks bro
Great video. Deer jerky is hard to beat. Why did you trim your beard?!!!! Lol
Deer jerky is great for sure I usually just let it grow from about September through the end of November for deer season then trim it back
no cure?
No never have don’t stay around long enough usually each batch is gone pretty fast don’t make any in large batches just usually 2-3 pounds at a time
Adding salt to a already soy sauce base is mind blowing to me.
It’s amazing
Add some Texas Pete next time
Will half to give that a try thanks I appreciate you watching
Sounds like a pretty good recipe for the marinade Josh. May give it a try in the oven since I don’t have a dehydrator .
Next year I will have a new smoker though. Thanks for sharing.
