- My homemade deer jerky recipe handed down from a good friend of mine that is no longer with us.
Recipe.
4 tablespoons of black pepper
4 tablespoons of garlic powder
1 tablespoon of curing salt
1 cup of brown sugar
1 cup of soy sauce
1 cup of Worcestershire sauce
1 can of sprite or beer
Dehydrate at 130 degrees for 12 hrs
Thinner sliced will take less time
Thicker slice will take longer
To spice it up add 2 tablespoons of cayenne to blender
To warm it up a little sprinkle crushed red pepper on wet jerky before dehydrating.

The best deer jerky here in piney. Jamie is very good on what he does in piney life and what he has accomplished over time.keep doing on what your doing brother.
Thank you brother! That really means a lot.
Thanks for mentioning the moisture saver bc i had some jerky last year that molded up in a about 3 days and I dint know what I did wrong! Great tips n great videos!
Your welcome. Man those moisture packets are a life saver. They really help with the moisture. Especially when theres a big temperature change from inside the bag to outside the bag. But keeping it in a cool place helps also. Just pulling out what you want from the gallon bag to a sandwich bag is the best thing to do. I have done jerky for people and them call in a few days and say hey. Got white mold on a few pieces of jerky in my bag. 9 times out of 10 they had there bag on the dash of there truck for days. Lol
I've got that dehydrator in the 160 liter size. Best dehydrator I've ever used.
I Would have to agree. The are a great dehydrator. Thanks for watching.
Buddy that looks like some good eating. I always do mine dry with the gun but I will have to try this way thanks for sharing. God Bless
Your welcome. It’s messy to fix but boy it’s good. Let me know how yours turns out. God bless you too.
I always use ground and I do the gun methods. Cool to see the way the sliced is did at your house. 💪
Thank you Calvin. We do the jerky both ways but more people request the sliced jerky. I will probably do a video on the ground dry recipe jerky soon. Sarah got a doe last night so I bet she will do jerky. Lol
@@pineylife awesome tell her congratulations.
@@CalvinsCorner72 I sure will.
Awesome..! Thanks!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Im gonna be doing my first jerky run this weekend and i was wondering can i use something other then curing salt? Also is sprite necessary?
You don't have to use curing salt. I just added it to my recipe so it would help with the moisture and help keep over time. Sprite or beer really helps with the marinate getting into the meat because of the carbonation.
Gonna try your recipe. Where did you get the glass door oven ....name, cost? I use the plastic tray dehydrator's and the more trays you use, the meat texture isn't consistent all the way down. Good video and God bless!
Hey bud, it’s a cabeles 80 liter commercial dehydrator . There running about $300. Got mine up at bass pro shop in Kodak. Thinking about getting the 160 quart cabinet down the road. I love this one. I have a video coming out tonight a 6 pm that shows the dehydrator and all the functions. Check it out

The recipe I use is almost identical. Except I throw in some liquid smoke in as well
I actually use liquid smoke sometimes. It makes for some good jerky also. Thanks for watching
