I do not like the flavor of coffee however I love love love the smell of it. It reminds me of my dad, he always drank coffee, and my mom called it his stinky water. He made Cowboy Coffee you know a little saucepan with water in it and a bunch of coffee grounds, boil it, add a little cold water to settle the ground and pour it in a cup. Coffee was always going at my grandparents house who lived about a thousand miles away and we only saw them about 2 weeks a year. Perkulator always on the stove, and it always smelled good. I saw a percolator in a second hand store a year or so ago and I bought it. I think I'll just start making a pot of coffee on my stove just to smell the smell.

Thanks for sharing your "secret" recipe with us. My parents had the glass type percolator, and still use it till this day. Because it was clear, I used to love watching the coffee being made. I predicted months ago that you would hit 200k before the years up, and I think I was right. I'd like to be the first to prematurely congratulate you on not just hitting 100k this year, but ALSO hitting 200k! Your channel was the first homesteading channel that I ever watched. I quickly got hooked on all of your old goat videos, and the rest is history. Thank you for the great content and sharing your life with us.

actually, if you add couple pinches of BAKING SODA it helps to nuetrlize the acid in the coffee, and that's what makes it smoother tasting and for your stomach. people who can't tolerate coffee on their stomach, can try this to they can drink it again. plus it iliminates the bitterness.

I've made beef jerky before using my Mr. Coffee food dehydrator. It's one of those round dehydrators that you mentioned. But, your dehydrator looks so much nicer. My dehydrator came with 6 trays. I didn't have a special jerky recipe; so, I used the one that was in the manual that came with the dehydrator. The marinade recipe called for brown sugar, liquid smoke, and soy sauce mixed into water. I used flank steak; but, round steak was also an option. I discovered that if sliced the meat while it was still partially frozen with a sharp knife, it was easier to keep the slices the same thickness. I think the mistake that I made was waiting too late to start the dehydration process. I ended up falling asleep with the dehydrator still running and the meat got really hard. I'd call it hard tack rather than jerkey; but, it was still edible and did taste good. My son loves jerky.

Daniel, I make alot of deer jerky using my jerky gun. (Also other meats) I use the stick attachment the most. I dehydrate it till it gets a firm out side casing. (around 4 hours) then I put it in my smoker for 2 to 4 hours, at around 200 degrees. With Hickory wood and this my friend turns it from normal jerky into the best jerky you ever tasted. I have tried different fruit woods but Hickory is the one I like the most.

Great heavens a real percolator? When I was a kid, the first thing I heard in the morning, was the sound of my dad, rattling the coffee pot, on hearing it my dog would rouse herself from her place next to my sister's bed and go down to be let out and fed, the next sound we heard would be the clicking of dad's cards while he played solitude while drinking his coffee, then we would hear the door close as he left for work at the steel mill, that's when we knew it was time to get up for school, we never needed an alarm clock!

Daniel, if you think your perked coffee might be a little bitter, put just a few grains of salt in your coffee grounds and you won’t go wrong. The jerky looks so good and I must admit, I’d rather have a high protein snack than potato chips , corn chips and a slice of chocolate cake and ice cold milk.

The best coffee I can remember was what we called camp coffee. We used to have was a gallon what looked like perk but never had the percolator parts. You fill up the pot and put in about 1/2 lb. of ground coffee and place on a camp fire, watch the to pot making sure it does not boil over by moving it around the fire. when you get a smooth rolling boil. Remove from fire and wait 5 minutes. Take some cold water and pour very slow and not much into the pot. This will make the grinds go to the bottom and you will have the best coffee ever.

I love my blue camp coffee pot. You have to get a meat slicer. I have a small one, from Rural King farm store. It's not big, but I can slice hams, roast, horns of cheese, food that I buy in bulk or butcher. Check out Lumnah Acres store. I think they have a meat slicer. I follow them on RUclips and Instagram. They are doing a lot of things like you do, but they are in New Hampshire in deep snow this time of year.

Your definitely right about the percolator. BUT you’re messing up by using pre-ground coffee. Not only does your coffee have better flavor if you grind it as you make it but coffee beans also lose their nutritional value only 3 minutes after its ground. Grind your own coffee. You won’t be sorry. Also coconut oil in your coffee is 👌🏼

I bought some coffee hope you're getting something out of it. I've been looking for a coffee that tastes good black so I can drink while fasting. Hopefully they picked a good one.

Daniel, I remember when my momma made coffee one time, and she was just pouring the first and all of a sudden something happened and the whole pot of coffee got poured into my lap and burned me so bad, but I agree percolated coffee is best!💖💖💖💖💖

Daniel, have you ever thought about marinading your jerky meat in the vacuum seal bags you use to store your meat in? When you vacuum it down it pulls the marinade deeper into the meat. Love your channel Merry Christmas to you and your family.
