I've watched this video several times and I have to say: I really love the sandstone themed necrons. A brilliant and deceptively simple paint scheme that yields amazing results. Pretty sums up all the paint schemes on this channel.
I remember around 13 years ago when I was about 14 and I collected necron, and I would use chaos black and brush over with gun metal grey haha.. I think the paint names have changed now but this all brings back the memories lol
This is just what I was looking for for my Necron Kill Team , something quick effective and unique. Great tutorial and you must release some of that excellent atmospheric music. Thankyou.

Hey MidWinter. Just wanted to say thank you for making this video. Can't believe I haven't commented on this. What a fantastic tutorial. I painted my Indomitus necrons using this scheme and loved the look. I didn't want to play Necrons, so I sold them for some other army bits but I've recently really regretted it because I really love how the paint scheme looks on them. I recently printed a ton of Robot Legions from OnePageRules and they're getting the Sandstone treatment. It's just too good a look to not do. Thanks for all you do, Guy. I wouldn't be the painter I am today without your guidance.
Absolutely love all your videos, and wanted to share a quick tip about fine detail painting. When holding the figure in one hand, rest your painting hand against your other hand (e.g. hold your hands against one another). This will steady your brush hand. I have seen this done in so many videos, but never once has someone actually pointed it out. I remember when I first started doing this how quickly my painting improved. Thank you, as always, for all your amazing content!

Very creative. Liked almost everything in this video. To be honest, i like your gloweffect by using the brush much more. The textures on the armor are outstanding! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for letting me know, Jeo! Yeah, there's definitely something more satisfying about creating cool brush glow effects. A little bit more personal, maybe.
Feel like I've been watching too many paint tutorials for intermediate levels. They're fun and interesting, but this seems like something at least feasible for my beginner skills. Very creative concept, I love it. Actually seems doable from your great explanation of the steps.
This video, together with the Necron battlerep got me back into Warhammer (40K) since about 25 years. Got myself an Exalted Scythes kill team starter and the paints for this recipe. Ready to start this journey once again. I love your videos and keep up the good work.
This is such a cool creative take on Necrons! I'm not really a fan of the normal Necrons look, but this scheme was so neat that I went out and bought some Immortals and paint after seeing this video! Thanks so much for this! I'm really tempted to try out some moss on these to give them an overgrown look, instead of the desert theme. I'd love to hear if anyone has tried that.

I've never really cared about the Necrons, just being skellingtons... but in SPACE! However, the creativity of this scheme, and turning them into more dusty, earthy, Egyptian-ish horrors is actually really appealing. Great concept, really nice final touches and a really effective painting scheme!
Hi, thanks for the video. I just finish painting my Necron Army (around 2500points) with your technique. I just change the base colour and opt for gray. But the use of technical paint gave a really good effect thanks you.

It’s good to see somebody mentioning about removing mould lines. Often over looked but can effect the overall look of the mini. A mistake I’be made in the past.
Rather than a gray or black primer, you might try and find a dark brown. This works really well if you are going for sandstone or bone primary coats, as the lowlights will blend well rather than being an eyesore that you need to fix later.
