wow what a compliment! I looove LionBricks. His stuff is so good he gets a pass on his upload frequency lol. I'm not sure I will always be able to do once a week, but I'm going to try for as long as I can.
I actually hadn't seen any before either, but since I had the idea I've seen a few. I just saw one on brickdesigned's Instagram than had vines hanging down from it--very cool!
I loved Lego as a kid, but this would have blown my tiny little mind creating this. The sets you could get when I was a kid where things like vehicles and castles. Nice vid!
Thanks man. I know what you mean though. If there's too much going on your eyes don't know what to focus on, particularly with a medium that's as colorful as Lego.
I love your city so much because it teaches me i dont need to start of with the big and grand sets, and have a massive lego city foe it to look good. Like some i've seen on Bricksie, mr bookieboo or jangbricks. Cant wait to see what other buildings/details you add next
It's actually more than its in the center of the table. I put those poles in the middle of the round 1x1s so if it does fall (which has only happened once so far) only the top falls off of the pillars, but the top stays in one piece, so I just need to set it back on top, not a big deal at all! This is why I love Lego as an art medium though: if this was a model train table and something broke, that's kinda just it. Its broken, but Lego if you drop a train and it shatters (most of the time) you can just put it back together again!
I appreciate the amount of detail you put into this. My uncle had an entire garage dedicated to his train set/collection and I always thought it was awesome, but I think a Lego one is cooler.
Trains are awesome! I really like model trains too, but obviously only have space (and budget) for one. The barrier to entry with Lego trains is a bit lower too, and with Lego nothing is permanent, which is the biggest factor for me.
Thanks man! Yeah, you know I just sorta went for it. I knew I wanted to use windows in the top and I just looked at pictures of real ones and tried to figure it out. The center piece was a last minute sort of "ah ha! this will work!" moment. It also looks different when you already figure it out ahead of filming.
Hi Michael, I've been enjoying all your videos. I liked watching the train platform come together like you were building a set, but even more so because it wasn't a set. It cane together flawlessly. Beautiful scene. Bring on more videos!
Great vid. Love the music choice. The ATM and garbage can were so simple yet elegant. Love how your station came out! I also respect the good vibes in your city too love the colourful flowers! What a great neighbourhood. Lol
Thanks! And yes, I want the city to be believable not necessarily realistic, you know? A lot of American cities are designed very poorly and prioritize cars over people, and I don't like that. I think this will end up being a weird mix of US/European city. Thanks for watching!
Another great episode! I enjoyed watching the modification of the train platform in action. However, my favorite part was something I’m pretty sure was accidental. The shot of the sunken fountain in front of Assembly Square after the addition of the planter boxes gave me a brand new appreciation of that design change to the set. I had noticed it before, but hadn’t realized the added value the depth detail gave the overall aesthetic. Thanks for the content!
Thanks for watching! My wife tells me I need to have more shots after the actual building takes place so people can actually see it when its done, and she definitely has a point. I think I move along too quickly. I'm glad you like the changes!
I discovered you yesterday and it all sounds very promising. I like the station's little platform. Very nice. I love your train ticket machine. And finally, it's great to see so much space left for pedestrians and bicycles in a Lego city. Continue like this 😉
Maybe you've changed it since I know this video is older, but you should remove the tree right next to the crosswalk for pedestrian visibility. Also, consider a yellow border for the train station platform. You could even have visible studs to denote tactile paving. A Lego city can still be a safe city!
These are great ideas! The plants on the median are sort of just placeholders for now. I plan to make better looking trees and/or bushes eventually. And I thought about yellow lines but just decided to wait for now. I’m also missing some railings right next to the tracks in some places. Thanks for watching!
lol yeah I kinda got stuck with it. I try to edit the transitions to the music the best I can, and I was about 3 songs in before I thought, "This doesn't really match the vibe." but you know, oh well. I don't feel like re-editing everything at this point. Thanks for the feedback and your time!
This video brings me much joy! The baskets are def the best part, also the wild vegetation in general looks so natural. I know it's silly but the baker watching their phone in the corner was my favourite moment. May I ask why going for the cilinder studs instead of something more sturdy? Looks cool though 😎
My initial thought was someone outback smoking, but that seems inappropriate haha! I'm glad you like it though it was very much on purpose: she's taking a 15. 😃 The cylinders... you mean for the train platform roof? Putting the 6L bars in there makes them pretty sturdy actually, and I just think they look good that way. 🤷🏻♂️
What a nice way to spend Sunday morning… I’ve just binge watched your entire channel and subscribed. It’s great to see a city from the start, as I’ve been building on YT for ages but want to start a city of my own. Do you mind me asking what you use to rotate your camera while you’re doing your time-lapse shots?
I use the DJI Osmo Mobile 6. amzn.to/3TeYWIT It's actually a reasonable price for what it enables you to do. It has stabilization and then you can set up the super slow moving time lapses, among other things. I love it!
@@rebricks thanks. That’s really kind of you to let me know. I’ll check it out and see if Amazon UK sell it too. I’m looking forward to watching the city progress, you’ve inspired me to get mine finally going on my channel.
Hate to say this, but the colors of the flowers in those hanging planters clash. I would rethink that color combo and go with something with a little more contrast. Otherwise another excellent update.
Nitpicking here, but some of the music is a little overwhelming. I believe a large part of the audience watches these videos to unwind and intense techno may not be the best choice of tune. I would suggest picking a genre like smooth jazz, classical music, or lofi for these types of videos. But of course, that is up to you!
Please do something about the music choice. I'm really sorry but it is not making the viewing enjoyable. If I resort to turning the sound off I won't hear anything you have to say. I can't continue as it is mate, truly sorry as I really enjoy the Lego side of it.
No worries! I usually search for "lofi" or "chill" when selecting music, but I think in my efforts to not repeat any songs,, I've strayed from that a bit. I'm going to do more lowkey music and I might just stick with a rotating 5-10 songs. Maybe you'll give it one more shot!
Way too few views. This is the second best city on YT after Lion Bricks and that channel is slow on updates.

You know I’m about the trains!
trains are the best form of transportation!
The Hanging baskets were the stars of the video….so simple in build but huge in design effect! Bravo!😊
For a minute I got total blade Runner vibes from the music. Never seen someone MOC hanging plants b4. Simple and elegant idea. Well done.
I actually hadn't seen any before either, but since I had the idea I've seen a few. I just saw one on brickdesigned's Instagram than had vines hanging down from it--very cool!

yeah Lego is way different now compared to when I was a kid in the 90s.
The citys looking great so many people over do it with the stuff that's going on but have got it just right doesn't look overly busy
Thanks man. I know what you mean though. If there's too much going on your eyes don't know what to focus on, particularly with a medium that's as colorful as Lego.

for sure. there's a lot you can do with little in terms of Lego. Many ways to make the same thing, versatility , etc.
Your city is looking great, a lot of nice details.
Glad you think so! Thanks for stopping by!
Very nice work! I assume the station overhang is a bit too wiggly for kids to play with? But for show it looks nothing less than amazing!

I love how you did the station roof - I'd never come up with those techniques.

Wow,. The build and production values blew me away. I learn a lot watching you build. You should be very proud of the content you're producing.
Wow, that canopy for the platform looks incredible!

Coming together nicely! Nice one. Soooo many tiles!
Lol yeah and this week I’m like “oh no I ran out!” Well duh.
This is an awesome train station! I only have shelves at my home, don't really have the space to build a city layout
Great building techniques on this video, wow!! Love the ticket dispenser at the platform 👍
thanks! Many iterations occurred before finally settling on that design, I still don't think it's perfect, but I'm happy with it overall.

Pedestrians, cyclists, and public transit should always be prioritized over motorists and personal vehicles!
Wow! This looks incredible man really excited to see how it turns out!

Nice build, and nice music! Love it. Greatz from the netherlands👌💪👍
Nice use of the train nails in the roof! 😊
I’m glad someone noticed! I’ve wanted to use them for awhile but they’re tricky and clearly not really meant for anything else.
