    The constant ripping appart and falling apart in your hands is so relatable. It's part of the lego process and important for everyone to see so everyone can see the effort it really takes

    • @rebricks
      @rebricks  Год назад +1

      Yes! Really any creative endeavor requires this sort of thing. In engineering its called prototyping and in writing its called revising.. etc. Sometimes I have to just try something in order to convince myself that it will or will not work. I actually think having my camera on is better for my process because it just forces me to commit to something, otherwise I get stuck in decision paralysis and never actually complete anything.
      Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! I really appreciate it!

      I totally agree! I have built … tore apart … rebuilt … tore apart and modified the main floor … and still have things I want to revise! As the creative juices flow, y ok gotta just roll with it! 💯👏

    I’m loving this so much! As others have said it’s nice to see you “struggle” with a custom build!
    Love the corner facade!
    Love the slope pieces to “bend” the sign around the corner!
    Love the arch and alley!
    Can’t wait to see the rest!
    One suggestion… on the Birch Books signs… I think you should bring them together in the center… swap that 2x2 black tile for 2 - 1x2 tiles on either side. (Or possibly put a 2x2 jumper in the middle with 1x1 gold tile to fill that space)… of course I’ve not seen the final build … you may already have done something like this!
    Anywho… BRAVO!!!

    Awesome how you made the bookshop a corner building. I really like the alleyway 👌I think you will figure out what to do with it. 🙂 I personally would make lights in the alleyway and add some containers with som old books and newspapers.

    First and foremost, it's really good to see you back, buddy. I hope all is well with you and yours. Always good to see a person's build process. It helps one think about their builds and how to potentially go about things. Dubbzi Bricks is another creator that has great building process vids. Check him out if you have time. Looking forward to parts 2 and 3!

    Love the front door build! It’s big and beefy and appropriate for something important like a bookstore. Would look good on a bank, law office, or jewelry store as well. The fact that you mirrored it for the alleyway is perfect for intimating it’s an older building that’s maybe been repurposed. The interior step matching up seamlessly with the floor tile was the cherry on top. Great job, as always.

    • @rebricks
      @rebricks  Год назад +2

      Thank you! I agree, that's why I made sure to keep the doorway from the original set. I'm excited to see the tunnel archway once I decide which other building is going to go next to it.

    In my opinion, dividing the tenement house into several films is a great solution. I like movies that are 10 to 20 minutes long. Longer ones are a bit boring.

  • @thomashayes507
    @thomashayes507 Год назад +2

    Very nice build … but I’m a little puzzled why you didn’t just start off with a MILS plate? The base would have been much more manageable, no?

    • @rebricks
      @rebricks  Год назад +2

      The baseplates are all already set up on my table, so when it comes time to place it I'll connect it on that way. I'm doing MILs plates only sort of, and not for their modularity--I don't actually plan on moving things around too much. I do it for the height difference between the sidewalks and the roads. I also don't necessarily won't to confine the building to the 16x32 or 32x32. I may end up having to transfer the building to smaller plates depending on how close it is to the train platform. I just did it this way for the video for now :)

    • @rebricks
      @rebricks  Год назад +1

      Yes, I thought about something like that, but I don't have a third books 2x4 tile, and I like both option about equally. Thanks for the suggestion!
