Your explanation and patience has given me the chance to really learn some great techniques. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
@daltonwsteinert well done for getting sober. Truly an accomplishment. Trying to get there myself. Bought shed loads of acrylic paints + paraphernalia, but not been inspired at all. I have been knitting since I was 5 years old so have lots and lots of wool, so am going to give this a whirl. Thank you so much for commenting on here, you both have given me the confidence to believe I can get sober and stay sober while I'm creating beautiful gifts for my Grandchildren. Bless you both. XXX
OMG - finally! I was about to give up on ever succeeding in making a granny square, after watching what seemed like every "beginner" video on You Tube and always messing up somehow. Then I found your video and your method of walking me through the process resulted in my making my first ever granny square. I bought your pdf written instructions and followed them while watching the video, so I could match up the steps in the video with the steps on the pdf. Now I think I could make the granny square just with the written steps. Thank you!!
So helpful!!! No tutorial that I've seen has helped as much as yours! My work has always curled, but now it's beautiful straight! Thank you sooo much! 💕
Sincerely. Thank you so much for going through each round and not just giving us the written rounds. I made my first granny square and I'm so happy. You explained everything thoroughly. Thank you again!
Hi, this is my fourth time making a granny square. I finally made one with all the corners coming out correctly and all the holes are lined up too( thanks to you)❤. I stopped at round four. I've been crocheting less than a month now & I'm super happy about my granny square! Now, if I can just get that tension under control.
That's awesome, J S! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Granny squares are harder than people think - MOST of new crocheter's struggle. It's those pesky corners - in the beginning they don't look very corner-ish, and can be easily missed/misplaced. GOOD FOR YOU!! 🌸👍🌺
Thank you for teaching the Granny Square with joins in the corner. I do the join with a hdc but will try you wy looks great. Thanks again. Have a good day and stay safe. 💜

@@SecretYarnery working on it now and trying to remember to turn for each new row of granny’s. Can I ask you a question? When chaining up 3 to turn and start a new row, how do you avoid the turning chain from getting all twisted up? I’m struggling with it tightening when I turn and then it’s hard to find the top of it for joining. Does this make sense? Sorry and thank you .
This is so nice! 🤗🌸 I love this one because it's just one single color! 💚 excited to use this pattern after my multicolored project ♡♡♡ you're awesome!
Finally a granny square that actually looks uniform, SQAURE ( I know, how ironic haha). Thank you so much for this! My question is, I border them in sc to make face cloths. Should I sc 3 in the corner? 3 looks okay but still kinda rounds the corners. Any tips? Thank you!

I have a couple of questions, one subject matter in the first paragraph and one in the second; I hope you can spare the time... So what is it that makes some people's granny squares look like a vortex? Besides extra slack in the loops at the top of the stitch I really can't figure out what could make it look so wonky. Is it what they do at the corners? Or do they get in such a hurry their stitches just lay sideways? Looking at the picture for this video again, it seems when you are in the home stretch, the last three sides that you do, start looking like they're running a race for the finish line, stretchin' their necks and noses for a photo finish. All of the other stitches are straight up and down. Btw, I see how advantageous the single crochet join at the corner is, and will do mine that way forever more. I'm self-taught until, fortunately, I finally got on RUclips a couple years ago .I also learned a double crochet turn stitch that works out real pretty, especially when you're doing something that goes back and forth like a scarf or blanket. I haven't tried it out working in the round on a sweater body. Do you have a special stitch for continuing in a round doing front only? A special stitch to jump up to the next level starting a new row?
Thank you, KaceeGreer! Granny squares tend to look square until they are joined together - OR larger - like if you are making a blanket. Then you can really see the wonkiness. I think it's just the natural lean - crochet always slants to the hook. ;) For working in the round with double crochet, I do a chain 2 to step up, and then ignore it. It's just enough to fill in the space. If you want to see how I keep it straight, check out my stocking tutorial: ruclips.net/video/Dgr3CIejaL8/видео.html Hope that helps? 🌈🌼🌸
