Malekith at level 40 can pretty much solo a whole army by himself with his myriad of spell spam too lol
he nearly made the list
Tyrion+Aenerion bloodline+sword of khaine was hella satisfying. He himself soloed a full army of Sigvald, dragon orges, Chosens, hellcannon. I had the prediction that Legend may put Tyrion in the list, he is so versatile.
I suspect if it werent for new Ikit Nuke, he'd be on the list.
@@bogdanleshenko7149
_"Yeah, I was astonished you did not put Malekith in there. Public order, tank, spellcaster, what else do you need?"_
I second that. The Dark Elves were litteraly the first faction i started playing "Very Hard" mode in a *Total War* game with and, as such, i had no idea how to spend the skills for the most optimal result, yet i absolutely obliterated any opposition with him. Fully uppgraded : he can fly, use dragon breath attack, cast spells that damage blobs, target specific units, massively debuff ennemies and litteraly life steal Lords & Agents, all while being brutally powerful in melee by himself. Cherry on the cake, his Legendary Gear is litteraly "anti-spellcaster" focused - just to spite on Teclis, Alarielle, Mazdamundi and even his own mother.
I mean, bloody hell : how can he NOT make it to the list ?
lvl 40 Malekith is how I beat the final wave of skaven on legendary vortex campaign. something like 8 armies spawned right on top of him and thank god i had lightning strike. some battles he healed more than he took
I always found it very funny that not only is the great and terrible Curse of Aenerion an optional skill branch for Tyrion, but it's alternative is bascially just him taking a Management 101 course
Глеб Черепанов glasses tyrion versus biceps tyrion.
Зачем брать бонусы на наем солдат, если Тириону нужны только болельщики для поднятия духа?XD

"Lothern pretty much always takes the #1 slot in balance of power."
That is, unless Teclis somehow confederates Tyrion with 1/10 of his military strength, which happens to more than half my playthroughs!
Honorable mention to Grombrindal, the best campaign Dwarf lord. Not the greatest LL in combat, but he has some of the most insane campaign buffs in the game in his blue tree. Factionwide movement, factionwide upkeep reduction, factionwide recruitment buff, ancestor skill, research boost etc.
Hi Legend! Favorite top 5 yet. Was really surprised by #3. Great stuff!
Top 5 most annoying units. Either to use or to play against.
Any horse archer or chariot archer.
artillery
@@JarthenGreenmeadow Especially Marauder Horsemen. Every campaign where you have to fight Norsca in the early game is dreadful. Chasing Marauder Horsemen around is the worst experience you can have and the Norscan AI loves to spam those bad boys. It's similar with the Chariots and Surtha Ek but you only ever encounter him as Throg or Wulfrik so it's not as bad.
Especially as Mazdemundi since Lizardmen actually have problems dealing with Marauder Horsemen early on (and tbh even later unless you yourself spam Chameleon Skinks). They won't kill you but it's just annoying.
Another one is dealing with Athel Loren and the entire Wood Elve roster (especially as Kemmler). But nothing beats the existencial dread of fighting Marauder Horsemen!
Anything ranged and kiting with a firing arc. I still think Darkshards are... special, having arpen but the ability to fire in an arc.
WH1 Hellcannons
The chad bloodline of anenarion Tyrion vs the virgin unifier
Fuck yeah. Barring anti single target magic spam, yellow line + aenarion Tyrion is absolutely unbeatable.
Edit: Add the sword of khaine and he actually WILL be unbeatable.
Leggie The Sword of Khaine is just icing on the cake for Tyrion.
I'll be honest, I'd still take the unifier route even if it gave me no benefits. The curse of being a roleplayer at heart.
Lionheart would agree
@@Elitex62 I'm very much the same. In the lore Tyrion is terrified of becoming a bloodthirsty lunatic like his ancestor.
Malekith is like a one man army, surely that’s an honourable mention in itself?
It isn't just about their ability on the battlefield. It's also in the campaign map. Malekith doesn't provide the factionwide buffs these others do, and he grants buffs to all opposing factions just for existing.
@@saltedllama2759 His slave loss reduction talent is incredible, when you have all other sources of slave loss reduction he cuts your remaining losses in half, and gives a 20% boost with a single talent point.
Nice joke
@@yavorkrastyovski409 But most of what Malekith gives is not something unique to just him being your faction leader, instead just for existing, All the other lords on this list give perks because they're exclusive to them being your initial lord. (e.g. You don't get doom rockets confederating witgh Skyre you need to actively play as them.
He also has his black dragon mount, which means he can apply huge amounts of demoralization and damage anywhere on the battlefield very quickly. Near the end of the campaign, I wind up with a lot of black guard that are simple there to hold the line, while black dragons take out the archers and artillery, then trash the rear of the infantry. It's truly brutal. Any stubborn globs of infantry get softened by archers, then routed by Malekith, noxious breath from dragons and executioner infantry.
Would have expected to see Malekith here aswell. He can do everything ... global eco bonuses, extremely dangerous in battle, Dragonmount and a wizard too, don't remember if he does give a public order bonus tho
His public order bonus is only local. Plus every other faction gets bonuses for him existing, which lowers his overall power level in a list like this.
I swear to God if Iki....
" *coming at number two we have Ikit Claw* "
Yes yes
Tyrion with the Sword of Khaine can basically solo small-medium garrisons. I'd love to see you do a Tyrion SoK Solo campaign and see how far you can get with just using him to conquer new territory.
You should do a Warhammer 2 campaign tips video for each factions saying what to focus on for the economy and maybe who to fight and who to ally with. I got so jealous on this video seeing your campaign with some factions making 60k+ a turn. Would love to know how you do that
Same here
Good video's on the generals, I mostly agree with pretty much everything here. I would have thought that King Louen would have been somewhere on here, as he has some very good bonus to the Bretonian roster and he can also put in a very good fight.
Tyrion is an insane powerhouse, and is SUPER potent for cheese playing :). I had him and 19 archers from lothern from the first few turnes of the game, aanndd he united uthuan, killed the dark elves, smashed some undead pirates, and stopped a chaos invasion because the AI swamps him if you run him out front, letting the archers destroy everything.
Tyrion on walls is also a good cheese, if he climbs up, there's literally nothing that can stop him, nothing.
I personally love the insanity that is tyrion with full yellow tree, bloodline of Anerion, ans the sword of Kaine - R.I.P to who he meets in battle - With that build, he can really almost take entire stacks of chosen.
Before he says it, the #1 is Tyrion. I know it's Tyrion. Everyone knows it's Tyrion. In fact the entire rest of the video can just be him saying Tyrion and making fart noises and I'd still be convinced. His starting position is literally the game asking when do you want to win.
Would love to see a remake of this video after the final dlc for Warhammer 2 is released
I was sure that as the Lord of Cheese himself you would mention that Tyrion, being very small and very fast when on his steed, is the PERFECT unit to run around in circles while the AI waste all their ammunition ;)
Man, Skaven in campaign are amazing right now. In Ikit Claw's campaign they're outright broken, sometimes even negatively so(Jezzails for example can't shoot past 300m - projectile just disappears), Under-Empire mechanic is so much more better than Pirate Cove one too
Lothern always seems to take the number one spot in my campaigns as well. In my most recent clan mors ME campaign, they formed a power couple with hexoatl, and those 2 controlled literally the entire new world (and ulthuan of course)
I had a campaign with Last Defenders where I had to go save Lothern from the weirdest alliance I have come across, a millitary alliance between Naggarond, Hexoatl and Clan Pestilence. I have no idea how those 3 managed to end up like that but it was terrifying seeing those guys work togheter and come rolling over the ocean mid campaign.

Thx for the list. Was very interesting to know your opinion.) I believe that somewhere there should be Malekith.
It isn't just about their ability on the battlefield. It's also in the campaign map. Malekith doesn't provide the factionwide buffs these others do, and he grants buffs to all opposing factions just for being there.

I think you have definitely chosen the number 1 pick wisely. Everytime i play Tyrion im always impressed. too many times when i first played elves and screwed up royally in a battle and thought i would lose, he would single-handedly carry my scrub self through it and win on his own. he's an absolute beast
ive recently got into playing war hammer and found your streams hours of entertainment :), was wondering if you wouldn't mind doing a short video on skill points what to prioritise, what route to take on certain leaders etc.
I'd suggest you to look into his late campaigns and search for any scene where he assigns points.
It's quite the work, but it's more duable than waiting him post that kind of guide.
Eltharion is pretty powerful. He his a good Allrounder in Battle and boosts his faction heavily. His skill to reduce Building time for garrisons down to 1 round is great, he can recruit globally very fast and his midt walkers are pretty strong (though I suggest to use the Mod that makes them benifit from tech and red skill line.)
Also to imprison enemy lords is a little OP. Cult of Pleasures without morathi is nothing, for example. Than it is easy to smash those leaderless factions
I thought malekith will make it. While it is true that his early game in ME is quite shitty, He has good upkeep reduction + level all the lords which helped a lot in creating better new armies late game when whole world hates you + the easy morathi confed + seraphion. Hard to decide cz I felt equally strong with ur top 5 lords too
Your top 5s are really good. Most of the lists out therer are based on MP. Happy to see people making campaign content
Anith Alar : On top of all that, the assassination objectives are OP as all hell ! It provides tons of cash and diplomacy with high elfs (to confederate easy), plus sometimes others bonuses, plus NO PENALTY FOR FAILING THEM ! all the good, no bad !
"I've been having a blast playing as him"... I see what you did here ;7
“I don’t really have a great opinion of skaven”. becomes legend of total skaven after one year...
Great video! I think Vlad Von Carstein should have been on this list, maybe instead of Count Noctilus. I agree this Pirate lord is very powerful and may be a hell of a cheesy legendary lord with his Necrofex Colossus's boosts, but Vlad is just so good in an overall compaign perspective, not just on a mid-end game one. With this guy, you can take the entire East and West Sylvania in 5 or 6 rounds, with the right strategy and without any penalties, mainly because of 2 things. First, his Siege ability wich allows him to attack any fortified place the same round he besieged it without having to wait an entire round to build siege equipment. It makes him a very useful lord for invading any other factions quickly and, with the Vampire Count ability to raise dead, his army pretty much never gets tired, at least until mid game when other factions start to build their armies with stronger troops that only packs of skeletons and zombies just cannot beat (but then again, at this point big post-battlefields are just everywhere for raising better troops). The second reason why he is so good is that he gaves a +10% campaign movement bonus for every lords you control. That and the fact that himself in his skill tree may boost his campaign speed even faster (+20% more if I'm right), it allows you to spread quicker, bring reinforcements faster and chasing down enemy lords very effectively. Being able to better control your map campaign, as on ennemy territory as those you own, is a very strong requirement for winning a campaign in the first place. In combat, he's considered one of the best tank for his regeneration capability and may be, even without a mount (wich is one of the main reason why he's bested by other legendary lords), pretty fast and mostly unkillable with the right build. And with his vanguard ability, he has the opportunity to counter reinforcements and manipulate the battlefield even better, and without even needing Lightning Strike if you play it well. It's true that he can be overpowered by a cheesy army build like Count Noctilus, but in an overall agains other factions he got so much more advantages.
Great video (as always), thank you very much.
In my humble opinion, a place of honor belongs to Deathmaster Snikch. He (it?) is not even remotely the best leader, but he does have the most ridiculously broken, cheesy, overpowered feature in the game: his strongest shadowy dealing (plunge into anarchy?) just erases an entire faction from the map, with a 100% chance of success.
It does take a lot of time to achieve this level of power (around level 30, IIRC), but, if Tyrion bullies you yelling "I'm unbeatable in battle and you are not!", then you'll just click one of his settlements or armies and kaboom! Watch the entire asur race magically disappear from the planet.
Who needs public order when you can teleport enemies from Total War Warhammer to Fallout Warhammer?
I really like Helman Ghorst for campaigns because you can get some pretty insane replenishment rates and fast research, especially if you also pick a necrach and von carstein bloodline first.
As Tyrion, I got an amulet that continually regenerates him in melee. My fried was playing vampire coast, and sent Noctilus, a Mournghoul, and a bunch of zombie regiments against Tyrion and still lost. Tyrion had full health, since he has Heart of Avelorn and Emerald Collar.
"No army that can defeat 20 necrofex colossus."
*Laughs with 19 pompous skinks riding stegadons*
Nice to see Nagarythe on here. Rotlf stomped playing that faction so many times that I don't play it anymore.
About Tyrion: How does Sunfang's +3 PO plus the Unify's +1 PO total a +2 PO like you say? @10:33
3:30 What about shades, waywatchers, deepwood scouts and all the strong ranged stalk units?
how do you get the 1 second cooldown for ikit?
I feel like mazdamundi with zlaaq or whatever his dinos name was, is so overlooked. He is probably the best guy to give the sword of khaine, especially if he has kroak in his army, he can be basically unkillable. i have gotten 6k kills using only him in the combat, sure it was against tomb kings but i still don't think many others would have been able to do the same
" Top 5 auto resolve breaking armies " please
I hope there's a mod that adds quotes from RA2s Crazy Ivan every time you drop a doom rocket. "Happy Birthday!" "Kaboom!" etc.
Nice video! Just a tip, plural of collosus is collossi ;)
Is there any way to beat a full stack of Necrofix Collosus if you come up against them?
Alith Anar also reduces global recruitment time for his faction which makes it much easier to recruit low tier units and you basically only need 1 barracks ever.
Underrated perk!
Would be cool to see this updated for 2021
Hey Legend do you consider Alith Anar in a better light if considering he is the only legendary lord in game that can damage towers in siege battles? ( well except the exiles of nehek legendary lord, but he needs a mount while alith anar can do it from turn one and if you get his shadow king ability, his clone can do it, too. So essentially, for the price of one you have a half extra unit of bolt throwers on ultra unit scale, along with the ability to climb up walls and kick some ass).
Surprised Malekith or Vlad didn't make the list. Good one.
What are some of your honorable mentions? Are there any lizardmen or dark elf LLs that nearly made it?
Tehenhauin is also pretty insane, the initial drawback is important, but if you manage to get passed it the bonuses he gives with those sacrifices are just insane. 25% ward save banners, -20 upkeep followers, op army abilities among other stuff. I think once you start rolling with him he's the best LL by far.
You can tell by this list that CA is makin g LLs better and better and I love it
I did expect Kroq-Gar on the list. He has a -10% army upkeep, upkeep reduction for saurus units, which helps a lot in the early campaign, and has great items that are still useful in the late campaign. Also one of the better melee fighters.
How do you even make that many Necrofex collosi in the first place? I never figured out how to make them.
id say you picked this number one spot wisely. i would agree tyrion really is a beast. especially early game, ive had so many times where a battle was going from bad to worse and just when i thought i was going to lose, he would straight up carry me through it. he really is both the muscle and glue of the high elves.
this game seem pretty cool having op armys and legendary stuff... it is right?
@@mrnohax5436 yup. ive spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours playing this game. every faction has their own flare and spice and plays completely different.
Not so sure about Lothern taking over as much anymore after the campaign changes... I'm 80 turns into my Tiktaq'to campaign, still derping around in the Southlands. Usually, at this point, Lothern has taken over or confederated most/all of Ulthuan and is starting to expand into Dark Elf territory. Not this time, though: all (!) the High Elf minor factions are still alive and well, going by the End Turn faction wheel.
That change to AI-autoresolves and LLs has really done a number on how things turn out... Settra died to Numas about 30 turns in, Tehenhauin is gone, Lokhir is gone, Teclis is still stuck in the Star Tower, and Itza owns the majority of Lustria. That is so weird...
Spinning up a new Ikit Claw campaign for the 9th time. I love that overpowering damage.

No. Tyrion was number 1 :)
AND THE CHEEEEEEEESE!!!
To die for.
Hellebrone with the sacrifice mechanics can take on Tyrion in a 1on1 in my experience, especially with her items. Her campaign buffs are not as good as Tyrion's, but the Sisters of Slaughter are basically tier 4/5 infantry with her buffs.
For the necrofex spam, can it beat a necrosphinx spam? Ofc thats harder to pull off, but still...

Legend doesn't strike me as the spergy "MUH IMMERSION" type, so I doubt he'd do that.

So does the pompous skunk priests on stegadons win or do the necrofex collossus win? Gotta have a fight video now.
The discord sound at 8:59 made me look for a msg like crazy XD
Personally I've had some good success with Vlad von carstein. Army wide Vanguard deployment for an all melee faction is pretty nice.
Vlad is a fucking monster, skeleton spam with Isabella in tow right behind and early game is a BREEZE
Funny thing, in my last (unmodded) campaign all Ulthuan was actually conquered by...Vashnaars Conquest. I was working in the Old World, didn't do anything.
WWolf noname because Vashnaars conquest is the cheat faction that you don‘t want to spawn anywhere far from you, because if they get a foothold before you can stomp them, they are the end times that chaos can never be. They can recruit both chaos elite units and dark elves units. So if you fight vashnaar conquest, be prepared to fight a full stack of chosen and black dragons and darkshards along with cold one and chaos knights. Not only so, because of how random armies work, each and every of their settlement are chock full of elite tier units (without walls) and with chaos programming, so when you attack them they will rush you with knights and dragons and chosen, after softening you with bolt throwers and you can‘t counter then with skirmishers cause they have skirmishers of their own. Also they spread chaos everywhere they go too.
what changed that made necrofex colossus not make it into your top 5 doom stack video?
I thought grombrindal would be here. A blue skill tree that benefits all armies, his blessings of the ancestors and his unique abilities in battle are incredible

Hehe, you know, what you said about Lothern is funny... I was very surprised when in my Clan Mors campaign Lothern was confederated by the Loremasters :D I was like... WUT?! XD
Any chance of an updated version 😘
I personally love Kroq-gar and Malekith the most but this was interesting list nonetheless, I actually expected Mannfred to be number 1. That said tho you could easily make a top 10 list because there are so many great and fun lords in this game
In my Ikit campaign the AI Noctilus has an army like that!Good thing we are allied. For some reason though he only has two settlements lol Totally agree with the list.
My Tyrion is so dumb, so I can definitely see him being #1. When I first activated the Invocation of Vaul, I got some item that had poison attacks, makes him regenerate in melee and I think 10% ward wave. I then found an item giving him access to the Sunbird's Invocation spell. On top of that and his quest items, he's a beast in melee, especially because you're set to get the Immortal Unbeloved trait that gives him frenzy when you beat Malekith in his Dragon Armour quest. I added some items to the heroes in the army that give passive buffs of 12% physical and magic resistance to the whole army. Tyrion is essentially a one man army and a mini spellcaster with his abilities.
Kholek Suneater is literally one man 3 army made out of elite troops on legendary.
I knew id see Dicknless up there. I was surprised Skrulk didnt make it
Tyrion always was a beast even in the actually table top game, but he still had that s3 t3 that all the elves had, well 99% of them, but he had his str increased by his sword in game, Teclis back in the old days of warhammer had a sword that was automatic wound if i remember correctly, but he only had 1 attack.

Well, I don't know, personally I view public order as a double-edged sword. Yes it can be troublesome, but this precious easy xp is just too good to be true. Although I remember one time during your streams that enemy army marching towards your province firstly attacked rebels (lol) which in return have quite beaten it up so your army was able to easily win against it.
I totally agree with the first and the second places, though. Those guys are just beasts.
What about the white dwarf with his faction buffs and time of the ancestry?
What I really want to know is which Lord makes best use of the sword of Khaine? I'm quite partial to the fey enchantress myself.
when i give tyrion the sword and use the bloodline of aenyrion skills i can literallly send him vs a full dark elf doomstack and he will solo it. he just needs regeneration
Can we get an updated version?
Curious on what people's opinion on what the best Lizardmen LL is. My guess is either Kroq-gar or Tehenhauin. Since Kroq-gar is just overall very powerful and gives that sweet sweet unit upkeep reduction and Tehenhauin has that really cool Sacrifice to Sotek tree and gets to rid an Engine of the Gods.
Count Noctilus is another prime example of why factions in the campaign need dynamic unit caps across the board. Really fun to spam units like that but so silly at the same time.
What about Balthazar Gelt? Crazy Lore of Metal, Crazy Atrillery bonuses (both faction wide and army only), Crazy armor buff +16 for army, flying mount , insane quest items.
Mazdamundi and Malekith are also beasts.
Also Curious, which lords would beat Tyrion 1v1 in melee? Archaon with all the quest items maybe? Who else?
Can’t believe Maleketh ain’t on this list.
where would you put pre-nerf Grimgor from Total War 1?
