That was a long wait since your last vid. Would have loved to see some of that boat work. Oh well the long wait made it even more fun watching . But don't take that remark and run with it. Give Mags a hug for us. She scared us on that one. Worried about her getting tangled. You can tell the Queen, you have made us care even more about your country over there. And I'm speaking for a lot of us over here, i know.
"...and if you stand up in the canoe, you can see the BOTTOM of the river!" PLUS: 'Mags is hot; but her timing's not! A very fine paddle in skilled and congenial company. Even though you became pressed for time, you continued to provide us with special and interesting camera angles! I just about 'lost it' when you revealed the 'as planned' vs 'actual paddling distance! Best to stay off the English Channel!
It's always good to see you again, mate! Beautiful weather, good friends (Hi Mags!) and some water to carry you...sounds like another perfect day. Sweet Maggie does a *really* good job of ballast on the front of that canoe, doesn't she (to a certain point)? The shots down the side show how level the craft rides with her up there. The water lily on her head was priceless. 😂 Glad you got your canoe repaired in time, got a chance to get out with Ginger and the dogs, and still managed to find time to edit and post a video for us. I appreciate you, Simon.
It is good to see that you are back on the River again Simon. I got a bit worried with all that climbing Italian mountains and all :) Awesome that you and your mate brought a regular zoo with you. Lovely animals :) As always, thank you for sharing your adventures. Cheers from Denmark !
Simon, I have a grand idea for your 30k subscribers giveaway to take both out and about or separately Tom and Maggie and present them both with a bushcraft gift. I'm sure all your viewers would agree just seeing Tom's face light up to receive a gift for his adventures out and either start or add to his love of nature in a gift. Your so generous to your subscribers that we would benefit greatly if you could do this on a video. Thank you for all your inspirations. Simon, Tom, and Maggie have our hearts. Cheers to all of you.
OMG Ginge. I had no idea you know him as well. I haven't seen him for ages but say hello to him from us the boys at the Cannon pub in Newton Poppleford. I went to a Thin Lizzy gig with him a few years back. A proper fella.
When you said the lotus leaves looked like lawn, I thought "uh oh, Maggie is going to think so too!" And she did! She's a sweetie though. Nice day on the water.
Really had to laugh when Maggie jumped in. A number of years ago I when I was out paddling, we approached a landing that was green with pollen that the winds had pushed up. My dog thought it was dry land and jumped in -- just like Maggie did. When he came out, he looked like he'd jumped into a bucket of green paint! Fun memories. Love your canoe. Thanks for taking us along on this fantastic paddle. atb -Larry
Simon& Ginge...🛶👍 That looked a great paddle guys just my luck I couldn't be there with you guys maybe next time. Maggie is just priceless..what a lovely girl she is. I can also vouch for Ginges workmanship and quality on his hammocks, underquilts and all the other outdoor gear he makes its 1st class. Great video as always Simon top job ❤️🛶👍👍
Nice to see you made it back. Love your canoe and nice to see Maggie's hair in the headwind. Nice to have a pub at the end of a paddle. ATB. Rod in Canada.
I love these kinds of videos from you. They seem to be some of your best work, IMO. Day trips and overnight Trips in your area, are the absolute best. Your Country is beautiful. love seeing it.
I really like your choice of music. Love the dogs as well,...and you too. - your videos are great. Ciao. Pubs are very important. I'd love to do an English pub crawl. Not so much the beer as the good pies you can get. Eat drink and be merry for .... hopefully tomorrow will come.

Truly, Simon, THANK YOU for showing up in the world as the marvelous person you are
I`ve only just come across this video, brings back memories of when we hired a boat from Bridge Boatyard in Ely for the week, we stopped at Higay for the night, had to go back to Ely, because we lost a key for the water hose cupboards, and get another from the boatyard. Our intention was to go to Stoke Ferry, but we never got there in the end, so to see this makes me want to hire another boat and go there.
@@Ade4fish lolz I wouldn't be that lucky though I did win £50 on a scratch card twice! The missus was expecting so it paid for the bottle steriliser! Result! 🤗
A great paddle down the Wissey!! I love how Maggie girl steals a lap of water and bites at the weeds. And her stepping out onto terra firma (or so she thought)... priceless!! Haha Another great video, but they’ve been fewer and farther between. Come on, Simon, let’s get to work!! Haha
Ace video as normal. When navigating through Worsley on a narrow boat, one of our collies decided to get off onto the "sand" when we were moored up. The "sand" being the orange water due to the water coming from the mines!
Sugar beet processing plant... we have one of those here in Idaho USA. They press out the juice and pile up the skins/pulp outside... for a once a week pickup. Well, in the summer those piles can begin to ferment and can really put off quite a stench. Great video.. thanks for sharing.
Simon, Maggie, Ginger, Dram and Tor. We re-visit this trip often, especially when in need of a cheer up. Over time, we've come to believe that Maggie may well have been duped into the untimely 'lawn' exit, but it still pleases us...
How cool is that with all the dogs onboard and when they saw the swans and Maggie launching after you told her it was a lawn :) I now those kind of dogs love water anyway. That is crazy about the suga beat I am from Yorkshire now living in Liverpool and still have the tate & lyon that goes back to slavery days.
Another superb canoeing adventure, Simon. Good to hear that you fixed those cracks that have the nerve to appear in your wonderful canoe. Thanks for the message regarding Andy, was wondering what he'd been up to lately. Thanks for your exciting video. Take care...
Great video ,that's the first one of Your I've come across .I only live at Wretton but used to live on the Wissey at Whittington so I knew exactly where You were going. Pity You ran out of time and missed the break at the Jennyns Arms .Great place .
Hi Simon, these waterways are so uncontested in comparison to the canal network and perfect for canoeing. One thing I notice in a lot of your videos is the lack of people fishing, being a worm drowner myself I find that surprising as there must be some fantastic fish in these waters. Thank you for another great insight into new territory for me to explore as always really useful information.
The Maggie fan club gets another member stronger, my soon to be 3 year old son! He thought she was great when she jumped in and continued to commentate her movements for the rest of the film! So I put the Maggie episode on next and he sat quite contently watching it. Maybe Maggie needs her own channel as a children’s entertainer🤣 Great film as usual. I might have to give that river a look myself at some point
Will do. I’m intending on getting some wet weather gear together so I can paddle year round. The trouble is knowing where to start when you don’t have a bottomless pit of money to play with!

I think Maggie mixed up the sea lillies with solid ground and tried to jump upon the leaves. 15:13 Now you know why it's called sweetwater: It's just because of the diposal of the sugar beet factories around. Superb. Once again, zero ego, totally natural in front of the camera and selflessly promoting someone else.
