I will legit feel actual pain the day the retires from professional league, at that point you ask what he's gonna do after league and will he still keep his online presence
In a serious note, that kind of happens, but, it's usually in the LCK or between KR teams nowadays, even in 2021 World Championship, I remember they were camping mid, even in that loss DK had where ShowMaker missed many skillshots with Syndra, so, they couldn't shutdown Faker as they later did in the series. Kind of related, someone said that when T1 was without Faker, LCK teams dared to do all kind of plays against T1, when he returned, they played standard again.
1. Global Taunt - everyone wants to kill him 2. Foresight - he knows what you want to do and whats going to happen, and moves accordingly 3. Team Leader - not only emotionally but als as a shot caller, mind controls his team m8s into peak 4. Micro is still fire - its not by far the best, but its at least roughly on par with other younger and top level mid laners Faker his him - and we hope that T1 and the korean police can protect him from this ongoing issue.

And since then LCK has increased safety measures at the venue and T1 has police at their HQ etc. So we ought to assume its more then the regular threats - as there also have been more and more knife attacks and murders in korea recently...
The first one is why I don't get worked up when he dies in a game. For whatever reason any team that goes up against him is just itching to kill him constantly or try to do something to him. Sure they get the kill, But they sent three people to do it, lost a dragon and a tower. He doesn't need to be flashy or get a bunch of kills, him simply being there is enough to cause stress in the enemy team.
I learned all of my macro as a casual player by following Faker and T1 over the years. Many call it boring, but I really like the long-term strategic plays in LCK where you can see teams like T1 (in good form) out-macroing their opponents. I watched a team hesitate for like 15 seconds on their next move and within that time, T1 got three turrets.
The amount of work and dedication that goes into staying on top for so many years is insane. To keep up with the mechanical skill and constantly be innovating in terms of decision-making is incredible.
I hope to see more of this type of video. It makes learning much easier and gives a greater appreciation to the players who have put in the work and effort to become so good at this game. These truly are the things that many don't see. Great video
Sad for skillcapped that you didn't notice that it was a collaboration and that skillcapped has tons of these videos, also featuring pro players. Unless missing it was the point and you were making a joke. Anyways.
u can gain a couple infos for yourself but thats all. this is a pro level 5 man premade team which is far different than solo q, even in grandmaster ppl arent willing to try to move or play like them in the video, so most of the time youre on your own.
Please make more of these. Even the basics of league can be very overwhelming for new players and the tutorial available in game is too lacking. I do hope one day Riot would make basic tutorial vids, compile them, and make them easily accessible from the game client. Ofc that's assuming the client can handle anything.
That's the thing I love the most about him, why he's my GOAT, it's not the big plays, it's the small things he does, and learned from years of playing league that makes him the best
@@lolesports We can talk about his wave management, the way he gets prio for himself, and converts it to advantages for his team, but what amazes me the most is how he displays his 10 years experience in the game. I remember watching a T1 comms in spring 2023, when he was playing Ksante mid against GenG, and they all went on him on top, and he was running towards baron, it’s like he knew exactly which angle to take, and he said “I’m out” before even doing anything. He will always be the GOAT
What did you expect, poby was basically a nanny forced to babysit faker's 4 grandsons. I'm not sure anyone could fulfill that role. It's amazing how faker's been piloting 4 bots for years.
Did LoL Esports hire guys from SkillCapped, etc.? :D Also, I think everyone knows by now after his injury that he mind controls and macro manages all players on his team to be successful. That alone makes him absolutely unique.
One key thing is Faker was able to get Oner on his mid lane to push or gank the lane whenever he needs. For most of time, we have difficulty to get the jungler helping us to do it.
His global taunt is the most overpowered ability. More overpowered than TheShy’s global taunt, but If they were both on the same team, the enemy team would just be petrified and lose to indecisiveness.
should've won it all again last year. still bitter about it but i believe they can complete the run and do it right this time this year. absolutely no one else will ever 4 championships again. if faker pulls it off this year, he is forever untouchable.
The simple fact is, Faker was WAY ahead of his time, that's why he was so dominant alongside his amazing mechanics. Over the past 3/4 years there have been midlaners that have got to his mechanical level and even exceeded it (knight, chovy etc). But Faker is T1, he is the face of LoL and now he is in his SIXTH worlds grand final. Everyone saw T1 fall off when Poby had to replace him due to injury (T1 went 1-7 in his absence I believe). I hope he wins that 4th worlds to solidify a decade of hard work and being the best.
Excellent educational video from Riot. And there’s just something about the narrators voice that really sets my mind into watching the whole thing effortlessly while learning so much.
Because of watching pro play for years, I could understand those concepts even if it was in a subconscious way, also, it tilts me when my team doesn't do what they should during obvious situations, particularly mid. This explains why T1 isn't good at all when Faker is not there. Never paid attention to what Faker does, but, this explanation made me recall what he did at MSI 2023, as said here, there's a moment where he rotates to top, when he tried that Vs BLG, Yagao was also there to counter him. 2017 Semifinals was a good example of Faker rotating and leading everywhere to help his team Vs RNG. Now, I'd like to rewatch their matches at MSI taking in consideration this, he sometimes had success rotating bot, other times he didn't, at times, because the Elk and On were better than T1 bot duo and also Xun was there to counter plays at botlane.
Great analysis! I really enjoy these two player's rivalry. its so fun to watch, especially with an expert breakdown. This is a 2023-02-19 LCK 2023 Spring match. I remember GenG was struggling with their new academy bot lane Peyz and Delight. T1 was really going hard on the kids, Faker knew the preasure point! haha. Throughout this tournament (which GenG ultimately won from a crazy back foot victory, through their midlaner Chovy) Leaning the EXACT skill your outlining in this video. Chovy started playing more mobile champs and giving up perfect farm to have more impactful roams. his Ahri and Tristana end all over the map causing havoc for KT then T1 in the finals. It was an amazing tournament to watch. T1 and GenG even released a sweet "Battle for Gangnam" collaborative t-shirt.
I have played lol since season 3 and always watched Fakers' play That's why i can reach Gold to Master Someone can think this easy, but it is so clever play
I’m so happy to see this kind of “shout-out” video for faker. You wouldn’t imagine how much korean ppl belittle, mock, insult faker disparaging his achievement by calling it as “water rocket”
The most common misconception that people have about LoL is believing that micro is more important than macro. At the end of the day, it’s a strategy game. It doesn’t matter how you can make flashy mechanical outplays, if you don’t know how to translate that into a win condition, map pressure and such. Sure, Fakers reactions and outplays looks really cool to edit into a highlight video and upload on RUclips, but what makes him the GOAT is his INSANE game awareness. How this dude always lane to think 5 steps ahead, it never ceases to amaze me.
Chovy (and not only Chovy) learned a lot from Faker, and made his own style in solo Q, although we must be honest about Chovy being a beast, we must recognize that Faker is the only one who always owned names like Showmaker, Chovy, and etc. in the mid lane. Technically said, Faker makes the opponent turn better, and always bounces back, Faker is still learning every day like everyone does. The best of the best.
In fact, understanding his play makes T1's matches more interesting. Faker used to win games by getting solo kills with physicality and sharp play, but as the years have passed, he plays smarter. He doesn't play like he used to, but I'm sure the Faker of today would beat the Faker of back then.
T1 lost all but one game when Faker was out with an injury, and now that he's back, they're looking to win the LCK Summer. The player, who only played for SKT, deserves to win the World Championship once again. Let's hope he lifts the trophy once again, this time in his homeland.
What I want for Faker is to be able to have the golden road..before he retires..and if he retires, i hope he becomes a consultant/coach-- i just cannot imagine LOL without him...
6:55 the amount of flame you would get from your team if you do teleport like that in soloQ would be absolutely mental lmao.. It might be somewhat good idea and grouping towards mid and late game is never bad plan, but I can guarantee that it will not go down that well with randoms when you are not literally faker and you just teleport somewhere to then walk away.
Faker can do flashy things but he is mainly a team player. He doesn't grief and trashtalk and keeps a cool composure even on dicey situations, a true champion and leader indeed.
This is an amazing video. I'm not a very good player, but I love watching the eposrt, and getting tidbits of knowledge (that probably players get naturally from playing) explained to me helps a lot to enjoy more the flow of a match. 110% valure content!
Good video, but on the point of "you can do this in solo queue without any coordination": Most players in solo queue usually either don't group ever or just play Aram all game long.
What we can all learn from faker is that he’s putting his and his team’s goals before his ego. Every league player admittedly will be awed by an outplay clip but also every league player knows that real league players hold trophies, that’s the ultimate payback. Faker’s play style is just that, he is the goat because his wisdom allows him to make these decisions! Mad respect for him for building with his bare hands the SKT legacy!
Btw, when Faker shoved the wave. He knows he can tank that dmg because its at 7 minutes. Which is about the time the honeyfruit spawn in the river. So he can freely shove wave while tanking dmg and get back all that missing health with the fruit on the way to the bot dive.
the crazy thing about chovy moving to help secure drake was that not only did he, one of the best players in the world, misplay it, he always had his coach and countless other people analyzing the game from behind the scene that also did catch this mistake. all these pro teams huge teams behind the scenes analyzing the game in realtime, all whom of are league professionals, and they all didn’t see it as a waste of time to help and just let it go through. with all the micro and macro that pros utilize, it’s actually crazy how something like this slipped through the cracks. it does seem like a very inconsequential thing to 99% of players, but as a pro with a whole team of analysts behind you, it’s such a huge mistake.
Correction my young Padawan... A decade is a period of 10 years. You said at 0:34 over a decade. Faker first debut in December 2013. It is currently 2023. Over is simply incorrect. A decade has yet to pass young Jedi.
In my games, any time I leave the team for a second to push a side lane, they've already continued pushing without me and die and then blame me for leaving lmao.
Faker also has a taunt, many enemies want to try and get a kill on him to say they did it, wasting their time and resources. Just imagine if he played teemo mid, chaos would erupt with the double taunting. People would lose their minds and dive him over and over.
One of the things that I love most about T1 or Faker is the Macro and yes a lot of pro teams have good macro but to me T1 and JDG seems to be so noticeable. It's stuff like not even bothering to go for drake or rushing to baron, to stuff like instantly all in on nexus after an ace. I've seen T1 being far behind a lot of times and then comeback just based on macro plays specially on World's stage!
There are 2 things more that he does : -pushing the wave post drake, scrifing hp because he know there is the plant - tanking the turret knowing he has 0 dmg and escape abilities
First play was jg bot gap entirely, and the second play, they're already up 5k gold. So not the best examples to use, however I do agree. FAKER THE GOAT
i just got curious but did not really think of learning coz I main jungle, but turns out I need to learn more of the lane mechanics, understand laners more to be more effective.
We all know that he was a GOAT in this Game(League) and got so many titles in different tournaments but he can't toe to toe with any mid laners anymore also in this Generations.

the crazy thing about chovy moving to help secure drake was that not only did he, one of the best players in the world, misplay it, he always had his coach and countless other people analyzing the game from behind the scene that also did catch this mistake.
all these pro teams huge teams behind the scenes analyzing the game in realtime, all whom of are league professionals, and they all didn’t see it as a waste of time to help and just let it go through. with all the micro and macro that pros utilize, it’s actually crazy how something like this slipped through the cracks. it does seem like a very inconsequential thing to 99% of players, but as a pro with a whole team of analysts behind you, it’s such a huge mistake.
I think his greatest strength is his ability to control all 5 PCs at the same time
Correction my young Padawan... A decade is a period of 10 years. You said at 0:34 over a decade. Faker first debut in December 2013. It is currently 2023. Over is simply incorrect. A decade has yet to pass young Jedi.
This is why it’s so hard for western teams to realize their issues. All the small details put them further and further behind
JDG has good objective set up not good macro around objectives. GENG, T1, LNG are the high end macro teams.
Bengi next 🎉🙏🏾👌🏾👏🏽
There are 2 things more that he does :
-pushing the wave post drake, scrifing hp because he know there is the plant
- tanking the turret knowing he has 0 dmg and escape abilities
Faker priority 😏
Though it would be interesting to see a video about how the world had to come up with counter measures to beat him to end his reign
First play was jg bot gap entirely, and the second play, they're already up 5k gold. So not the best examples to use, however I do agree. FAKER THE GOAT
all i want is this Gaming God take his 4th cup and be marked as the only OG player to win 4 cups over new talents
Faker偉大到T1要有他才能啟動T1(5)的羈絆,其餘4位選手會增加全能力值100%
i just got curious but did not really think of learning coz I main jungle, but turns out I need to learn more of the lane mechanics, understand laners more to be more effective.
Invisible plays: proceeds to explain with VOD every single one of them 🤣🤣🤣
Video: "Pro tip, call your jungler for help and create pressure mid so you can roam or recall"
SoloQ jungler: "GG mid diff, I go AFK"
i like how in 8:20 when he says "group up with your team" the toplaner is not there :D
Very good video, thanks!
"Faker is one of the easiest professional players to learn from"
me: proceed to press tab and function keys 10 times per second
If you are a Faker fan, you know he has another famous skill which is play making. He was called "Faker Faker Play Maker"
i absolutly love the thourght of faker watching this and thinking "wow this is clever i didnt know i did this but i should"
We all know that he was a GOAT in this Game(League) and got so many titles in different tournaments but he can't toe to toe with any mid laners anymore also in this Generations.
GOAT IS Chovy
10 years and no bad scandals. Riot really won the lucky draw on the face of league.
Always amazes me how extremely small things matter greatly in pro league.
