This wasn't just the most insane mechanical outplay ever; it also happened during a time where Faker and Ryu were the two best mids by far, light years ahead of the rest, kinda like Kasparov and Karpov in chess.
Faker has also done things like pick Master Yi mid in official LCK and sign it with #ThingsFakerDoes (others tried to do it in their league afterwards but failed miserably) and when they tried to cheese him with pre-rework Irelia (true damage, targeted stun, gwen's ult that also healed etc), again in LCK, HE COUNTERED WITH OLAF MID!
The difference his absence made to T1 because of the injury speaks volumes. And there are some who call him 'washed'
Every player idolizes faker...he almost originated all awesome plays and combos thats been used by all players..not just the play style but also the items..and most people would say that they are faker everytime they do an insane plays..how i wish to play like faker..he is insanely good.
I moved from ADC to Mid Lane and learn control mages only because of Faker and Dopa.

I just started playing league of legends a few weeks ago and i started because i saw a video about faker's rise to fame on my recommended and it immediately got me interested in the game... Faker is a legend.

The micro plays,the way he dodges everything we was like a kungfu master in a video game.Hes mastery level inspire more players and humanity to be Godlike in anything that we want or love to do.
That wombo combo was all props to Wolf. He called that one, and the rest of SKT T1 went all in with the plan.

Thanks for this. Faker consistently makes so many good plays that they just pile on top of each other. I've seen that #1 so many times but it never gets old. The face Ryu makes also makes it even more perfect.
The Faker Zed Play is a given. For me an underrated highlight play was Wolf's Zyra Flash Ult from the raptors in MSI 2017

my favourite play of all time is from SKT itself, they were down 10K against EDG and they wombo combo them for a 4 for 0 play and come back to win the game

4:10 The most ridiculous part is Teddy flashes backwards from an arrow that wouldn't have threaten his life either way. He could easily have flashed sideways or foward to dodge it and it would have been a teamfight win and huge comback as well for SKT.
The best Faker plays were the two Cassiopeia R + Flash and it throws to the other side... it is so difficult and so beautiful...

I read an article in ESPN when season 7 had ended that a Chinese gaming organization wanted Faker and they offered him a blank check to sign up with them. A blank check, meaning they were willing to pay him in millions just to join them. Faker was earning US $1mil through STK and didn't care for the obscene amount of money that could come his way. He was loyal to Korea and the organization that he had been a part of all this time. For him that was more important.
About the Riven vs Cass match-up, Faker admitted in his 2000 kills video that he heard what was coming (the attack) before he saw it.
I think what's impressive about Faker is that he takes note of even the smallest details about these champions that are probably shrugged off by others. (e.g animations and in-game sounds).

Some say MJ while others say kobe, lebron etc but in league there are none who even come close to how dominant Faker has been throughout his career which is pretty much since the beginning of professional league. GOAT
Even if he isn't considered the greatest now, the fact that he was the first player to be considered the GOAT is enough to warrant the MJ comparison.

Disagree. MJ was undisputedly the GOAT in his prime. It has been 20 years since then. Ofc, there will be discussion if he is still the GOAT. Faker has been the GOAT for only a hand full of years now. If league manages survive for another 15 years, there will likely be another player who will give Faker a run for his money too. So the comparison is perfectly fine.

QotD: the play that I think I'll always remember was by Albus Nox Luna in the 2016 Worlds group stage, their Top Lane Poppy charge into a beautiful ice wall by Kira's Anivia, placed mid charge if I remember right. That play had me going nuts

My favorite play was Kai'sa doublelift and Olleh morgana outplaying a hecarim. It's kinda obscure but it was one of the first outplays I saw when I started watching. It got me to play Kai'sa too who's my main now.

Even Faker knows that it is actually Wolf's play that won the game. There is a BMW vlog in T1 channel of Cuzz talking to Faker about the Worlds 2017 against EDG and Cuzz praising Faker's shockwave on that bout. Then, Faker said that it is actually Wolf who deserves more credit.

Its right it more on the knockup play of wolf but its a teamplay situation even how successful the knockup from wolf if faker unable to execute well the shockwave its not going to turn around the game.

QOTD: I just started watching esports this year so had to check out a game with faker he was playing Sett mid Vs sylas and it was near the dragon pit I guess skt got caught out so faker runs to the wall near botside to escape chased by entire team and he just stops I thought he was gonna flash but he was waiting for sylas who had his ult to ult him over the wall then he ult'ed sylas over another wall then proceeded to flash and escape while his top laner shows up to finish sylas that play made me question so much weather faker knew sylas was gonna ult him or it was just coincidence, unfortunately i don't know which game it was I was still new to league esports if anyone knows plz tell me thx
