Faker is a generational talent in league. I remember season 3 when he debut , he was untouchable in the midlane. He literally innovated and taught modern midlaners how to play. The guy was so insane that skt was dominant for so long. 10 Years later he has the igl and veteran experience to play at top level. His recent performance at worlds reminds me of peak faker... so good.
Among those the greatest players, who is still playing in the field? *FAKER* The one and only. That’s why we call him a living legend. No matter how many words you find to describe Faker, they won’t be enough bc his journey is still going on, and will continue to make legacies that many players would chase!! :) I am so proud of living in Faker’s era.
Rookie. He's been relied upon to be one of the carries for every team he's been on due to circumstance (weaker teammates in different positions at various points in his playing career apart from 2018 IG) rather than being allowed to fall back into a supportive role. He simply doesn't have that luxury playing in a more competitive league in LPL (harder to have players who outclass their peers due to depth and spread of talent across multiple teams in LPL, yet Rookie still can which is why you see many matches and splits where he's the MVP) and not having the pull or player development of an organisation like T1 and their academy. Many star players or prospects who end up becoming stars play alongside Faker which ends up stacking the deck especially against the LCK which apart from the top 2 or 3 teams aren't in the same tier due to the individual talent discrepancy being massive. In my opinion if there's one player whose level has still not dropped for an extended amount of time from being in contention for best mid in the world it's Rookie, regardless of team success which as a single player in a team game he will never be in complete control of (Messi, Lebron, MJ still need good teammates to win and have had seasons ending in failure without such teammates).
This man is the reason why lolesports is what it is. He invented the style of laning//gameplay that is now considered normal. The goat for sure, forever.
And he is still competing at the best level, led his team to an undefeated split, came so close to winning another MSI title (lost 2-3), and make it to this summer split final and already make Worlds this year. This dude is just insane. He's the GOAT that no one can deny
I started playing League back in 2010 when it was first launch. Ever since I started playing and watching professional play in League, I saw Faker debut LIVE in that game against Ambition. He was not even known at that time, and I thought to myself, gonna be an easy win for Ambition in mid lane. Then when I saw that first kill by Faker live, I spat out my cereal and was like who the hell is this guy!? Ever since then, no one has brought more energy to the game than Faker. I am glad to have witness the greatest player to ever play League and will shed a tear the day he plays his last game!
Faker was the SOLO Q PRODIGY and was very well know, maybe not in NA and Ambitions Bronze play to get killed in evolve animation was hilarious to be Fakers first kill ever as a pro player. people call him washed out, etc but he is the only one up there after almost a decade who can still match people like showmaker and chovy.
Back in 2013, I was in high school. I started to play League of Legends, soon after I finished my college application. Once I learned how to play at least one champ in each position, my friend recommended me about LCK and Worlds. I've never watched any pro league games before, and the 2013-14 LCK winter season was the first pro play I watched. Soon after, I became a fan of SKT and Faker. His plays just mesmerized me and I had no other choice but became a fan. Now in 2022, I am in grad school, and Faker is still playing. Some people say he is washed up, and not near to his prime time. It might be true. I don't think I can witness his greatest plays that outperformed all the other players anymore. But that's not the reason I am supporting Faker. Surely, I became a fan cuz of his fancy plays. Well, that's not the only reason. There were a number of fantastic players. But I admire Faker's consistency, commitment, and his competitiveness after 10 years of pro plays. After long years, I noticed that being good is much much easier than being consistently good. I still support SKT T1 and Faker, and wish them luck :)
I became an LCK fan just 2 years ago but I've heard Faker's name wayyyy before, and I'm surprised after all these years growing up, he's still in the scene being good consistently. This video was an eye opener for someone like me that just recently started to become his fan, thanks a lot!
As a one of the people who watch faker from 2013 to 2022. I tell you the nerf on champions was real. He was so good in using champions that the riot has to nerf them to make his impact lesser. He even tried to use a adc or a top lane champs in mid.
Also don't forget he is still improving himself. His playstyle changed in order to get better results and sometimes he comes out with something crazy like garen mid. Despite these ideas don't always work in the professional scene, he is constantly adapting to the ever changing meta
he is the sole reason I watch any e-sports to this day.. dude was so amazingly entertaining to watch.. together with madlife, insec and bunch of other mechanical geniuses.. EDIT: 18:47 - the way the narrator is dissing FNC _gracefully_ had me dying

first impression is everything and Faker gave me the best first impression on league of legends in general. I will stay a fan of Faker even after he retires
This outplay (which aside from being the most insane mechanically) happened when Faker and Ryu were like Kasparov and Karpov, the two best with a huge gap from the rest. Faker also did stuff like Master Yi mid (in official LCK/OGN match) that others tried to replicate and failed miserably and when they tried to cheese him with pre-rework Irelia (targeted stun, true damage, heal on ult) HE COUNTERED WITH OLAF! (again, official match). And don't forget the insane Riven plays. So many negative nancys and whiny willies say that he was carried (Marin, Easyhoon, Bengi, now Zeus and Guma). Of course I don't wanna take away from these players (and can't, they have cemented their legacies as well) but, after they left SKT, they vanished completely, they weren't able to replicate that success. And of course, everyone saw how T1 crumbled worse than a sand castle while Faker was out due to an injury very recently. Making Poby the scapegoat for the others' huge underperformance is delusional and that's putting it mildly. He's the GOAT, period. And tbh, everyone should be grateful to Faker if they really like League even one bit, because, once he retires, I don't think it will stay afloat for much longer.
I dont play league or watch the pro scene much in recent years but i would never miss a T1 game while faker is playing. The highs, the lows and everything in between, it is all to watch the journey of the best player of all time
What makes him the OG is the fact -that his mechanics where years ahead of the competition, pavign a road map for player to come. When the ''optimal'' play is already laid out its easier to learn.
Let's not forget that how to play Mid since 2013, has been a case of studying Faker. Even if some players have better teams, or might individually perform as well or better than Faker. He's the one whom innovated every mid playstyle from 2013 to 2022.
The way Frosk told this story was insane. I was captivated the entire time, and was on the edge of my seat tearing up in fond memories, hype moments, nail biting at the comparisons and all the great points made. Salute
Ngl it's kind of frustrating when those trolls or antifans calling him "shaker" and discrediting his success and how he built his legacy throughout his career. No one has ever put up an achievement as great as his in league history, and at such a young age. I've watched him even from his rookie days, back in 2013, and I knew he was already of his time. His prime proved that. Now he is adjusting to changes and I know he can still be good but he doesn't have to be the greatest at this generation now. He already proved that. He's still pretty consistent and still has the masterclass-tier skills. He doesn't need to be flashy anymore, he's showing his leadership more and teamplaying skills. Haters just be saying shit because aside from his great skills, he's also extremely humble and sportsmanlike, which is commendable for someone who has achieved that much so the unnecessary hate he's getting is kind of unhandy since he's very likeable. Forever will be an admirer of this guy.

His GOAT status is not about being the "best player" anymore, there are now a pool of players that have the same output as Faker in terms of playing, the Faker's Goat status is beyond that. The current team of Faker is arguably the best team he had in his entire pro scene but in his absence those 4 constantly lost and in his presence they got the 4th trophy. Thats the Goat.
Faker not only proved himself by winning 3 worlds in the first few years of the game, but has now done it again in 2023. Even today with all the new competition, he still prevails. FAKER THE GOAT.
And what i saw the different from faker old day and this era is his passion in 2015 is like he is a robot and when he lose that final he start to become human more and more is like he have more creativity and more passion
Faker is the undisputable GOAT, but not because of his rookie year tbh. Faker is the GOAT because he has proven time and again that he is world class in a way that no one else has ever really matched. He has only struggled with his mental in games twice in his history and one of them was overcoming himself which he succeeded within the year, that was the year that Easyhoon subbed in for him a few times. And then in 2018-2019 when he was mental booming from the struggle of hoisting a legacy that no other league player can even DREAM of trying to hold and then in 2020 he was back in form only held back by roster and internal issues at SKT. His rookie year is a neat trivia point about him, but it largely doesn't matter that much in the discussion him being the GOAT because it is a bit like Wilt Chamberlain or Bill Russell where they did things that are just basically impossible to match EVER because they joined the game when it was young and were among the first true stars of the game. Wilt being an absolute behemoth with athleticism that was unheard of at the time and Bill Russell basically building the modern game wielding team building power. It just isn't possible for someone to match Faker's rookie year these days, most prominently because no team is ever even going to try since they would need to field a team of only rookies, which is something I felt wasn't properly talked about in the video. Faker did the things he did while also being surrounded by his own team full of rookies, no veteran to mentor him, no one else with experience to shot call. In a way it may have even been what enabled him, not being held back by an old head trying to make him conform, but it also undoubtedly was a serious drawback for him as it made him the player with the global taunt permanently on. No one will ever match Faker's rookie year and that is okay, no one talks about Wilt or Bill in the same breath as Michael Jordan anymore either. This isn't to say it is guaranteed for Faker to no longer be the GOAT, mostly because Faker survived all the way into modern league of legends. He is still competitive for best mid in the world and he is still uniquely incapable of being killed and shutdown. But it detracts from his legacy to act like his rookie year defines him, his rookie year is the prologue but the rest of the story is what makes him the GOAT and that is still being written.

The mysterious "Barcode Killer" terrorising the NA ladder with Riven mid lane before Worlds 2013. 97% winrate, 20-1 He was legit one of the best, if not the best Riven player in the world back then. He was one of the people, alongside BoxBox, BRNA, and TheShy (yes, the current top laner of Weibo gaming, and the 2018 Worlds champion) to popularise Riven and her animation cancels. Faker was way ahead of everyone back then. People eventually caught up and surpassed him, but even in the past few years, and especially this year, he remains as the team's X-factor. When Faker was injured during the summer split, his team went on a massive losing streak, and it wasn't even close. But when Faker subbed back in, they went on a massive winning streak, looking very impressive until the finals.
The title unkillable demon king is such a fitting name for Faker. Demon King in fiction brings fear to everyone, only a hero could defeat it. Many heroes will dare try to slay him and most will fail. Even in death, he will just revive and continue his rule.
Previously, I had not followed LoL Esports closely. This year, I decided to give Worlds a shot. I was also still looking for a LoL pro team to support. I was familiar with the name Faker, but I didn't dive deeper. But when I watched this year's Worlds, Faker's individual performance and T1's collective performance easily captured me. Yes, I was impressed with Fnatic's first two games in groups. But there was something about Faker's and T1's gameplay that I found captivating and entertaining, so much that I ordered T1 jerseys for my brother and myself. This video broke down and detailed his gameplay, legacy, and mentality well. The more I watched, the more I was able to contextualise just how legendary Faker actually was and is. I don't know why I clicked this video. Perhaps the title of the video drew on the little curiosity and interest I had towards Faker that was planted from this year's Worlds? In any case, what a legend and what an era!
Faker is probably the only player that is recognized as THE BEST player of a major esports title by 90%+ player base..( being conservative, idk who is the other 10% if any ) Dota, CS, WOW, etc. you name it, there are great players and ONE of the greatest players but not THE GREATEST let alone THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME. Just a feat to watch his games. And the fact that killing faker itself is an achievement, shows the amount of respect the world has for him. Raid boss indeed, the GOAT without a question.
I will be here when you make in a few years "From the best player the best teacher" I mean just look the interviews every year someone new comes and says Faker helped them in league and still does, look at his team he is the backbone of so many rukies for sure the successor of his legacy will be one of his students 💙 ❤️

Faker is a generational talent in league. I remember season 3 when he debut , he was untouchable in the midlane. He literally innovated and taught modern midlaners how to play. The guy was so insane that skt was dominant for so long. 10 Years later he has the igl and veteran experience to play at top level. His recent performance at worlds reminds me of peak faker... so good.
How does he trains?
Among those the greatest players, who is still playing in the field? *FAKER* The one and only. That’s why we call him a living legend. No matter how many words you find to describe Faker, they won’t be enough bc his journey is still going on, and will continue to make legacies that many players would chase!! :) I am so proud of living in Faker’s era.
He is absolutely a living legend!
I would argue rookie as well
rookie is still playing, and if you count UZI being on and off albeit hes not as good anymore
Dopa still playing 😴
This man is the reason why lolesports is what it is. He invented the style of laning//gameplay that is now considered normal. The goat for sure, forever.
I'm not even a fan of this game and i still understand how BIG Faker was. One of a kind in history.
We need an updated video most especially now that Faker just won his 4th worlds title! Legend indeed.
Yassssss!
Faker has to retire first, or else people will have yo make videos each year (5th Worlds and Finals MVP as well).
Every Faker's documentary, there's always Faker vs Ryu match up.
And he is still competing at the best level, led his team to an undefeated split, came so close to winning another MSI title (lost 2-3), and make it to this summer split final and already make Worlds this year. This dude is just insane. He's the GOAT that no one can deny
and he just won another world title, it's absolutely insane
LoL was launched in October 2009 tho
T1 if you want to be correct ;)
I became an LCK fan just 2 years ago but I've heard Faker's name wayyyy before, and I'm surprised after all these years growing up, he's still in the scene being good consistently. This video was an eye opener for someone like me that just recently started to become his fan, thanks a lot!
He's been dominant since day one. Glad you enjoyed it!
Should have picked kai’sa mid man it was even played in proplay and won games and then had to be nerfed. Like Garen?? *Insert many ?? Pings*
The master yi mid with taric support HAHAHAHAHAHAH i really can't forget that
he is the sole reason I watch any e-sports to this day.. dude was so amazingly entertaining to watch.. together with madlife, insec and bunch of other mechanical geniuses..
EDIT: 18:47 - the way the narrator is dissing FNC _gracefully_ had me dying
A piece of narration genius, that part.

Revisiting this after his 4th title. GOAT.
first impression is everything and Faker gave me the best first impression on league of legends in general.
True goats make everyone around them play 25% above their own max level.
Faker's aura is T1's 6th summoner on the rift. Everyone else is playing 5v6.
Once Faker and Bengi's story is written, it will be an emotional retirement.
Salute
BRO THAT INTRO GOT ME FEELING EMOTIONAL!! WELL DONE.
마지막으로 페이커가 롤드컵 우승하는 것 그것이 바로 내 마지막 소원일 것이다...
레드불 정말 고마워!
이번 시즌이 적기이긴한데…과연
No matter what happens, Faker will always be the GOAT. He revolutionized how modern league is being played.
Coming from the future to tell you that what happened is that he won his 4th World’s on his 10th year as a pro 😂 Dude’s a beast!
And Now Faker is 4 Time World Champ! GG My G!
He is the undisputed GOAT of LoL. When even in the new generation his still being relevant against the likes of chovy, showmaker, caps, etc.
haters just dont have a life bro dont mind them
Bro 7 months after u wrote this faker is the best mid rn in lck...arguably in the world...he is legit the unkillable demon king..will rise no matter how many times defeated
its always a gift to witness the existence of people like faker. it's like he's a timetraveller from the future, and you wonder when or even if anyone is ever going to catch up to him
I'm a Korean.
Me too thanks to Faker I have been playing League of Legends.
Whether he wins or loses Even when the slump comes Because I always supported Faker.
Thank you very much Red Bull for making this video.
All Red Bull sports Immortal Great Demon King Faker forever 1st place!
redefined and revolutionized the game to what it is today, league or even esports as a whole would not be the same without him. Greatest Of All Time.
Faker documentaries are the best.
His story is one of a kind 🔥
I've been admiring faker for 9 years now, time flies so fast ^_^
Now he's even greater
You are here because all roads lead to the goat.
This is so good! Kudos to you guys!
Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for checking it out!
"Class is temporary but Faker is forever"
That's completely wrong lol
That ending quote gave me chills
this guy changed the world how to play league. respect
These stats itch my brain in such a good way. Great video!!

Every player mentioned in this video is above greatness, but Faker changed the game, that is why he is the GOAT :)
I'm getting emotionally thinking that it's my 8 years already supporting this GOAT! 🥺💗
And what an incredible 8 years it’s been!
Faker continuing to make more of the legend~ truly living legend😁
His story is iconic from the beginning, and it's far from finished! Well said.

@@ravenworst2510and yet he win his 4th world Championship
Coming back to this. Just paying my respects to the greatest gamer in LoL and probably every other videogame
The mysterious "Barcode Killer" terrorising the NA ladder with Riven mid lane before Worlds 2013.
97% winrate, 20-1
He was legit one of the best, if not the best Riven player in the world back then.
상혁이와 같은 시대를 살고 있어서 행복합니다. 상혁이를 알아봐주는 레드불에 감사합니다
Faker will forever be my #1
Great video RBG and Frosk
Happy you enjoyed it!
Untold, dude is literally the face of league of legends and is a household name for esports, im pretty sure a lot of people know his story by now.
I'm here again after T1 beat JDg in a banger series. Faker is back in Worlds finals!!
Faker is probably the only player that is recognized as THE BEST player of a major esports title by 90%+ player base..( being conservative, idk who is the other 10% if any )
Dota, CS, WOW, etc. you name it, there are great players and ONE of the greatest players but not THE GREATEST let alone THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
Just a feat to watch his games. And the fact that killing faker itself is an achievement, shows the amount of respect the world has for him. Raid boss indeed, the GOAT without a question.
처음에는 페이커를 좋아했는데 이제는 이상혁 그 자체를 좋아함 영원한 GOAT 우리혁 화이팅!
I was witness to this man's rebirth! Faker, the only man with FOUR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TO HIS NAME
I dont play or even understand league but I almost always have to watch faker's matches. Thats how big he is.
he's got the sickest username as well.
And this year Faker reaches yet another worlds finals, truly incredible career.
I really don't care if t1 losses this coming finals, he will always be the goat!!
It's amazing to have lived watching and paying attention to all of this to then now reminisce while watching this
He is one of the 2 main reasons why I play the league. Thanks Red bull 💜
13:12 This is what unkillable demon king is and tomorrow hoping for him to win his 4th world championship trophy. 🔥
I will be here when you make in a few years "From the best player the best teacher" I mean just look the interviews every year someone new comes and says Faker helped them in league and still does, look at his team he is the backbone of so many rukies for sure the successor of his legacy will be one of his students 💙 ❤️
Faker is like Pacquiao, insanely talented even from the start. Dominating, powerful, insanely skillful. Both failed at some point, but both bounced back to prove the world why they are one of the best.
Who is here after his MONUMENTAL W
Legend says we're still just getting started..
this is so much hype that it made me emotional. faker could've done anything else in life and he would probably excel just as much. I'm really glad that I got to see faker play League.
You could even say Riot changed the game so much so faker doesn't keep stomping.
Also the narrator's voice is amazing. and she bodies everyone else LOL
MY first contact with LOL was the finals of Worlds 2013 where i saw Faker win. Faker go win again this year
Only Zeus can surpass Faker's Rookie year if T1 win worlds. This kid is .. i dont have words. i ve never felt like this watching a player literally since rookie season faker.
#T1FIGHTING
Faker 🐐❤
Faker became my favorite player during Season 4. I knew he was good already, but when he started playing Riven mid he truly showed why he was the best player to ever touch the game. He has more highlight plays than any other player in the game. You can make a movie of his highlights.
You know he is the best, from the moment you say faker after an outplay
right. its like saying Kobe! or Jordan! when shooting a ball of paper in the trash can
LMFAO IKR
Some people who play league now were 8 or 9 years old when faker started pro play.
I remember whe i was 17, i watched the worlds 2014. It was a pleasure to see skt play the game although i was fnatic fan and especially xpeke.
I loved doing backdoors because of xpeke.
His escape montages are the best. Also miss the time with 2 Samsungs teams (Blue and White) that was peak of Korean LoL before Chinese money shattered their scene.
Man DoA wasn't kidding. I was there for 2013 OGN as I used to religiously watch Korean LoL back in the day. Living in the USA games used to start at 3AM so I would wake up and watch and that's what I did during the Summer Finals. When Faker obliterated Ryu in the last game I screamed so loud I woke up my entire house lol it was that hype. Unfortunately Ryu never recovered from that game.
