Only retirement can force Faker out of the top of the league. Seriously, i think he's just waiting for some mid laner who can glue the T1 team together like he always does and he'll be able to retire and support the team backstage as its part-owner.
Nah, it won't be like that. Whenever the shotcaller goes, the team goes through a heavy slump, and given Faker's influence and presence, this will be a lot worse. When MaRin left, SKT were in decline. Yes, SKT still won 2016 Worlds, and yes, they made finals in 2017 Worlds, but it was clearly going downhill and it wasn't till years later, like 2021 when the current roster formed that things started to look up again (at least domestically) and then they finally won 2023 Worlds. When Faker goes, T1 will go down the biggest slump that no team in the history of League has ever seen. I would not be surprised to see them literally hit last place and potentially demote into the lower circuit. Not saying the other players aren't good, but we have already seen what happens when Faker doesn't play, 2-8 match score.

@@InstalockLoL Bro never saw the chart that somebody made to record the team training match count T1 have nearly no training match since whoever match with them will be getting DDOS as well (The other teams like HLE and GenG can have normal team training match count)
for the record, i see some of the comments here and comparing t1's situation to gen g's is really not ok lol. you could kinda say that gen g were the 2nd most affected team by ddos solo queue wise in the lck, sure, but they still played a large majority of their games on their mains unscathed (they all played over 50 games to t1's only 4 games *combined* played in a span of 3 months pre-msi) and could scrim largely or completely normally through the entirety of this situation, while t1 have only managed to attempt a couple of games on their main accounts, had to switch multiple smurf accounts given by riot, but with bad mmr that didn't help them practice well for pro stage at all, *and* their whole building got shut down on many instances, affecting all of t1, t1 academy, t1 rookies and even the t1 valorant team who have nothing to do with lol. drx rascal has mentioned that when they got t1 members in a solo queue game or scrim, the entire drx building got shut down too. deft also told keria in chat that when he specifically got a t1 member or two in a solo queue game, he knew they wouldn't be able to play it. saying t1 got by far the most affected is not fan cope, it's the truth. they were the only team forced to stop streams entirely. gen g streamed the entire time. it's not a good comparison. when faker had to say that t1 couldn't practice like the other teams, you know he meant it.
As a LCK watcher, I agree that hackers couldn't crush Faker, but they could threat the future of League of Legends. Professional players such as Faker, their practice may be able to be protected. But what about other 'ordinary' players? Non professional high class rankers like streamers who can become sparring partners of pro players in their solo rank, rookies who need practice or chance to prove their competentness will face problems and eventually become reluctant to play solo ranks, which will undermine the quality of solo rank and passion of youngsters who will lead the future of the scene
@@migolmigol4874 This was happening before Worlds last year. No evidence to point to who it was, but logically speaking, you (fans generically) wouldn't sabotage your own region's success at Worlds, right? Pair that with the most recent MSI, hosted in China, where LPL fans literally tipped out the arena before GenG lifted the trophy, because it wasn't an LPL team winning, it does make it obvious who has the motive to do it. After all, no other region has shown similar behaviour in any tournament, fans show sportsmanship and would always stay even if their region lost, except China.
It wasnt only DDOS attacks on the streamers but also on players. During High-school LOL Games, in the quarter finals I was in. We lost but only because our support and adc, with our mid lane had a sudden spike on ping, ranging from 400-199999 ping. This was on Ethernet connection and my ping stayed the same with only 20/ms on the teams computer. But ultimately the last 3 months Ive had this issue at home play on my main. Just a Master 4, my ping in game would be 40/ms to 6999/ms. I have some screenshots of the ping going that crazy high.
I find it interesting that riot a billon dollar company has no counter measures to this similar to cloudflare i mean they should know all the data streams that occur on the networks for the game and twitch stream and just be able to drop other unneeded packets from game server to isolate the game from these attcks given that can still overload the server but this would be a start
Whilst I agree in principle. Whatever countermeasure you deploy, will (!) affect the ping to the server. And likely for everyone. So, then the question becomes if it's aceptable that pros play at 20-30ms ping instead of the 10-20ms they are used to.
It's actually a bigger technical challenge than you would expect. If you think of the way cloudflare protects against DDOS attacks, none of that would work in a professional esports context given the additional latency of these countermeasures. We might think of DDOS as a solved problem in the broader web development context, but usually the solution in latency contexts is just to obscure the IP. However, Riot being unable to obscure IP's is a pretty inexcusable fault.
Ddos attack aim at end user, "these attcks given that can still overload the server", NO, it aim at END USER, NOT the server. Most online game server this day have anti-measure for Ddos already.
I remember Rekkles also mentioning that the issue has been affecting T1 academy too in the Caedrel interview. Hope this can be resolved soon enough for everyone. It’s more fun when everyone is at their full level and get proper practice.
Those hackers are just pawns. The real evil is the betting industry behind it, mainly China. And it's a tacitly business, if you know how to braid with the corrupt gov.
One lck fan calculated the number of solo queues for all players 'from the time DDos started attacking heavily until just before the league finals' and found that t1 had only 4 rounds while other teams played over 50 rounds. (Half of the cases ended prematurely due to DDoS attacks) In other words, we could see that t1 was attacked intensively. DDoS continued to attack in various ways, such as directly attacking the player or attacking other ordinary users caught in the same queue as the player. In addition, even before streaming was stopped, T1's practice time was not sufficient due to DDoS, with a maximum of 3 practice sessions per day. In addition, as GM mentioned, their scrims also did not proceed due to DDoS. Starting with the attack on Faker, the remaining four players began to be attacked one after another, and the player who suffered the most damage was Faker. He suffered greater damage in duration and magnitude than the other four players. Trollers who seemed suspiciously related to gambling continued to interfere with his game, and even DDoS joined in the attack against him. As a result, he was seen on the broadcast as being affected during practice throughout the regular spring playoff period. Despite stopping streaming afterward, DDoS went beyond attacking individuals and now began to attack the T1 headquarters building to attack the T1 lol team on a wide scale. The game of T1 Academy friends who were in the same place was also stopped due to DDoS. There was an enemy, and at the same time, a T1 Valorant player posted an earnest appeal on Twitter asking them to stop attacking him because he could not practice due to DDoS. In order to avoid possible attacks, the academy friends stopped practicing at the office building as soon as their last game was over. (The story of the suspension of the game was found out when Rekkles, who appeared on the Caderal broadcast in T1 2nd district, mentioned it.)
However, you may be wondering if other teams also suffer from DDoS, but to be precise, we can say that they almost never suffer from DDoS. This is because 'before t1 streaming was stopped', players from other teams were never attacked by DDoS during practice unless they were caught in the same queue as a T1 player, and even 'after t1's streaming was stopped', the remaining 9 teams (playoffs) In total, the number of DDoS attacks (including teams that do not go) does not exceed 7 times. To put it bluntly, some good(?) LCK fans who felt the severity of T1's painful situation are trying to prevent the secret master accounts that T1 players hastily received during the playoffs from becoming targets of DDoS attacks, and to prevent them from being leaked to the community even if they accidentally know the players' accounts. I tried. However, some of Faker's anti-fans and t1's anti-fans even leaked the players' accounts. During this process, players were attacked several times. This is what I know so far.
Regardless of the win or loss of this LCK Spring Finals, the major stumbling block that t1 has had called 'DDos' has had a significant negative impact on the team's performance from the 2nd round of this spring season, and has also left t1 players in an abnormal state of preparation throughout the spring season. It will. A friend who is a t1 fan told me that this season, unlike the previous season, players were seen suffering in real time due to unprecedented DDoS attacks, so they were desperate every time T1 advanced to the next round. Despite the lack of game strategy, data, and practice, they managed to get an MSI ticket and advance to the spring finals, going all the way to the 5th set in the finals, thanks to the team strength they have accumulated over the past 3 years. It's so pitiful that one team is being attacked so intensively, and beyond that, I think everyone should be aware that this is a very serious situation for users who play this game and people working in related industries.
Most competitive athlete or sports person will know this. Even a few days without training will throw you off your game so much. I once have to play in a comp after a week without training due to exams, and I wasn’t able to find my foot in the matches it’s actually super frustrating
I know this feeling. If I go a week playing off my main character and I go back to it. I can feel the difference really early on. From flashing in to land a move to being just short on the range. Lmao
Riot also changed the current Meta drastically (the normal pre-MSI patches), and the T1 LOL team combined had 4 practices in before the official MSI match (less than 20 combined if you count the few scrims that were uninterrupted in China while waiting for MSI kick-off).

Why can't Riot just move their League tournaments to LAN? It's honestly just dumb how a multi million dollar game company holds tournaments online when they literally have Valorant in LAN.
Um, they did that. That why there werent anymore DDoS attacks of official matches. That doesn't fix the fact T1 players still got DDoS when ever they tried to practice or scrim.

You'd be surprised, but it's not likely. The issue did not happen if they played on CN servers for one (the DDOs attacks were also happening to other Korean personalities, who did that). I can't believe Riot is still not doing anything towards the DDoS that T1 had to stop their streaming again. After months of not streaming, they finally resumed the streaming schedule. On first day it was Zeus and Oner, and it was all good. The next day, the DDoS attack happened on Faker's stream but not to Faker, the attack changed to Faker's team mates. T1 put out a statement that they did renovation to their streaming rooms and they strengthened their internet security? 1 person who actually played with faker even wrote on T1's membership page about the experience and that they're extremely sorry about that. I'm extremely frustrated with the whole situation and the irony while Faker is experiencing the whole HOL agenda with the infamous ridiculously expensive skins, Riot is getting a lot of money from selling Faker's name but they do nothing about this?? It's been idk 7 months since the first attack??? It's unfair because if we're talking about sports, this is totally unfair, T1 can't do solo ranks, can't do proper scrims.
i think the funniest thing about this is that VCT pacific kick-off opening match was between T1 and Bleed. They had literally a 5 hour pause. It was comical. Not only that, I think at some later date t1 ALSO had another tech pause. It was probably some unrelated issue, but it is a funny coincidence.

I had 0 idea world games were ran on an open server XD. the same thing essentially happened to Apex but the apex tournament was remote i think so that actually makes sense
Its actually not the riot source codes fault, but the anti-cheat the KR server used. It had/has (not sure if they are keeping it with vanguard) that got leaked.
So we can all probably say that if the DDos attack did not happened and T1 had a proper practice for this invitational, they could've gotten the golden road?
8:30 i find it curious that it's possible to find out an IP address from a summoner name. It means that there's a link saved somewhere between the two. Either on the Riot side, or somewhere else, which is definitively not a good thing for security purpose.
Almost as if not trusting riot and removing league is seeming like a better and better idea (vanguard related) if people can get ip from just your summoner name what other info could they get. Like cards can be linked with all your personal info attached.
I feel like league needs an offline mode, for competitions at least. Even if players can't use it. Feels easier to cut the game off from the network to ensure no hackers get in, then just stream it to another computer which will broadcast it. The players stay completely isolated except for video output ONLY (the game's data could be recorded by an 11th computer on stage for bugs, too). That way the players will always be able to play, even if that means the viewers can't see the stream because 9f a DDOS or whatever.
You can see the one similarity that all video game Gods have: they still win even against hackers. I just begun to see the similarity between Technoblade and Faker
For people asking for a geng vid. Yeah they do deserve recognition but you really can't make a good and new narrative for them to bait views for these big accounts to make content that will worthy of their time. Geng has always been a dominant team for 2 years now domestically and that's is not new at all. Maybe finally winning an international is a good subject to talk to but still not sure enough. Maybe if they win summer and attempt for golden road, that woul be very worthy of hyping for. This is just how you generate views for your channel, target the most popular ones
heard of a video theorizing that the ddos might be linked to vanguard and those hacker finding a way to find those pro ip via vanguard while pro player from lpl have another system very different than vanguard who's also very intrusive but not yet breached that's why none from lpl has been ddos'd so far this year ? Just a theory from the youtuber
Vanguard wasn’t even out for league. It was said it was KR anti cheat. Also you’re comparing two different places in terms of “freedom/control”. On top of that, you forget Asians discriminate against other Asians, so it wouldn’t surprise me if Chinese people were targeting LCK, By using a flaw in THEIR anti cheat over there.
@@MrDT2012 yeah my bad, it was smthg else than vanguard smthg about KR own anti cheat. As for who targeted KR pro player I won't say much to this 'cuz we can guess all we want but without proof nothing is set.

Yes, and starts from bronze
yep and they were low MMR and at one point Faker's main account didn't have a single game registered for over 2 weeks which is unheard of
Pretty sure I remember reports of Gen.G also having DDOS problems, so this video doing them dirty by suggesting T1 was the only one facing the issues.

(The other teams like HLE and GenG can have normal team training match count)
for the record, i see some of the comments here and comparing t1's situation to gen g's is really not ok lol. you could kinda say that gen g were the 2nd most affected team by ddos solo queue wise in the lck, sure, but they still played a large majority of their games on their mains unscathed (they all played over 50 games to t1's only 4 games *combined* played in a span of 3 months pre-msi) and could scrim largely or completely normally through the entirety of this situation, while t1 have only managed to attempt a couple of games on their main accounts, had to switch multiple smurf accounts given by riot, but with bad mmr that didn't help them practice well for pro stage at all, *and* their whole building got shut down on many instances, affecting all of t1, t1 academy, t1 rookies and even the t1 valorant team who have nothing to do with lol. drx rascal has mentioned that when they got t1 members in a solo queue game or scrim, the entire drx building got shut down too. deft also told keria in chat that when he specifically got a t1 member or two in a solo queue game, he knew they wouldn't be able to play it. saying t1 got by far the most affected is not fan cope, it's the truth. they were the only team forced to stop streams entirely. gen g streamed the entire time. it's not a good comparison. when faker had to say that t1 couldn't practice like the other teams, you know he meant it.
This. Riot has to figure something or it will cause a big snowball effect in the region as a whole, not just competitive scene.
Its not LCK vs LPL, its T1 vs LPL, and they Hate. THOSE. DDOS!

Its because T1 defeated every single Ch!nese team during Worlds. So theyre being petty LPL fans

This was happening before Worlds last year.

That 100% winrate against lpl hurt them bad
So clear how angry they are about that
I find it interesting that riot a billon dollar company has no counter measures to this similar to cloudflare i mean they should know all the data streams that occur on the networks for the game and twitch stream and just be able to drop other unneeded packets from game server to isolate the game from these attcks given that can still overload the server but this would be a start
Whilst I agree in principle.
Whatever countermeasure you deploy, will (!) affect the ping to the server. And likely for everyone. So, then the question becomes if it's aceptable that pros play at 20-30ms ping instead of the 10-20ms they are used to.
@@AkantorJojo this
It's actually a bigger technical challenge than you would expect.
Small indie company
Ddos attack aim at end user, "these attcks given that can still overload the server", NO, it aim at END USER, NOT the server. Most online game server this day have anti-measure for Ddos already.
I remember Rekkles also mentioning that the issue has been affecting T1 academy too in the Caedrel interview. Hope this can be resolved soon enough for everyone. It’s more fun when everyone is at their full level and get proper practice.
I really hate hackers trying to destroy Faker's career. This time, they will be punished !
Those hackers are just pawns. The real evil is the betting industry behind it, mainly China. And it's a tacitly business, if you know how to braid with the corrupt gov.
As someone who only watches LCK games, I was curious about this DDoS incident, so I looked into it myself and the following is what I found out.

W effort
Most competitive athlete or sports person will know this. Even a few days without training will throw you off your game so much. I once have to play in a comp after a week without training due to exams, and I wasn’t able to find my foot in the matches it’s actually super frustrating
I know this feeling. If I go a week playing off my main character and I go back to it. I can feel the difference really early on. From flashing in to land a move to being just short on the range. Lmao
Riot also changed the current Meta drastically (the normal pre-MSI patches), and the T1 LOL team combined had 4 practices in before the official MSI match (less than 20 combined if you count the few scrims that were uninterrupted in China while waiting for MSI kick-off).
there is many discussion of which team is the best, the goat. But you can't argue with there is only 1 player who have been called the goat in league, that man is Faker! A name that even people who don't play league know, legend never dies, faker never dies.

The issue did not happen if they played on CN servers for one (the DDOs attacks were also happening to other Korean personalities, who did that).
Also, T1 actually has a lot of haters in korea. Any time they do something their fans "don't accept", they've got even death threats and literal trucks parked below their main site with threats.

T1 can really do it! They will win! Faker, Zeus, Oner, Gumayusi and Keria fighting!!!! Love T1❤❤❤❤
if fans cant encourage and keep watching T1’s game and starts to threats or smth its not fan
It feels like y’all predicted the T1 worlds win over GENG
No doubt that was related to online betting. It happened for years to Tyler1 in NA to the point that he could even call them out in champ select before the game hade even started.
I'm surprised that Riot-sponsored LoL tournaments didn't switch to being run on local servers entirely after the source code leak.
This hackers are maybe payed by some organization running a betting site

Its actually not the riot source codes fault, but the anti-cheat the KR server used. It had/has (not sure if they are keeping it with vanguard) that got leaked.
@@diivzedon't kid yourself. Vanguard is a liability. CN don't use Vanguard but tencent is forcing the rest of the world? Yup, definitely not fishy.
Sending funeral flowers after not making Worlds is so "League of Legends", it makes me giggle. So toxic.
definitely a top laner or mid laner maybe.
@@FanOfMinatozakiSana Oh for sure Top.
Right and to send them to the greatest midlaner of all times. Like it's probably a hardwood 5 to planer too
they should add offline lan game like counter strike, dota1 to stop these attacks
So we can all probably say that if the DDos attack did not happened and T1 had a proper practice for this invitational, they could've gotten the golden road?
Nah probably not golden road, DDOS wasn’t the only thing holding them back this year.
Coming back after ECW to say that this group of T1 players are amazing. 😮
HTF can Riot (one of the biggest companies in the world for gaming) not have Dedicated servers for tournaments, this is the biggest WTF in LoL
How can Geng win almost every LCK tournament and yet fumble so bad in Worlds.
In Faker We Trust!
Imagine 561.000 people watched the video and just 15.363 likes. Guys if you want to support the work which goes into this, press the Button!
You can see the one similarity that all video game Gods have: they still win even against hackers. I just begun to see the similarity between Technoblade and Faker
This aged well, "we'll just go win worlds instead"
Who's terrible idea was it to not use a proper LAN for scrims
Aw, they didn't show the quadra azir clutch on lck final match 1
“Doesnt find the stretch armstrong”? Lmao i never caught that.. i love casters throwing in random bits like “huge package”
I think it was less about T1 being unable to practice and more about their mentality that they are being targeted.
Why tf are they not investigating the attacker and sue him/her
For people asking for a geng vid. This is just how you generate views for your channel, target the most popular ones
the only one who dislike/gets mad on faker or the SKT loss are bettors.
1:50 man I miss quickshot play-by-playing the Fnatic games back in the day with deficio
heard of a video theorizing that the ddos might be linked to vanguard and those hacker finding a way to find those pro ip via vanguard while pro player from lpl have another system very different than vanguard who's also very intrusive but not yet breached that's why none from lpl has been ddos'd so far this year ? Just a theory from the youtuber
weird that CN doesn't use Vanguard but the rest of the world should? yup, really fishy.
@@MrDT2012 nope. Vanguard was implemented early for pros in KR. and guess what? their IPs got leaked. So much for anti-cheat.
A video about the ddoss attacks and I'm still more annoyed at win sante
Let's be honest its not the lck was in danger. It is clearly t1 it was highly targeted to them. They snipe their matches during the lck mathes even them doing solo queues or scrims it is clearly targeted towards them. The first ddos attack is a warm up.
My wife would love that wireless Razer dial
The man is truly the Final Boss
You know your good at the game when beating you is an achievement
Hold on a minute, 17:39, oner switches into rell with viego passive and uses crash down but then is still in mounted form. Is that a bug?
Wait i didn't notice that! Might actually be a bug. Because i don't think this is intended.
i always assumed that tournament games were played in an offline server
How organizers dont run lan servers is just a joke at this point
Imagine if they have proper practice
You can't stop HIM from being the GOAT
The DC is what solidify Atlas as the best caster since monte and doa. It was a 8 hour show and he keep me entertained the whole time.
Riots incompetence to setup a safe LAN environment for the highest echelon of competition they have is what really stuns me to this day, how is someone able to DoS a tournament network is what im wondering about, are they not hosting servers dedicated to the games ?
I think I found my future job, I think handling cyber security in games would pay me well
If you weren’t around for fakers prime then this is crazy but seeing faker from the start I genuinely don’t even think enhanced AI that has 200000 hours on this game would beat faker bro is INSANE and in his prime legit unstoppable and can solo carry a team to champs and at the time could win champs solo he is probably the greatest esport athlete of our time and there are a lot of pro players in different games I follow
