Faker was rank 1 without even trying during his time and he was eyed by SKT (the most prestiged esports org in South Korea). So obviously his dad knew he was meant to be a gamer
Well if you are a gamer just to play games for fun. Then your dad will not support you. But if you want to be a Pro Gamer and winning tournaments because it will give you alots of money. Then your dad will be proud of you for sure.
Damn Ryu should claim for mental damage every time Faker’s story is told lol Faker is my favourite LOL player, not only because of his insane skills and insight of the game, but also due to his determination and efforts he puts into it!
Faker's story is really really like a legend out of an anime story....like how he already is strong then experienced his first lose but then he learned after that lose and then it made him even more stronger than never before....it's really....just epic.......this guy is a true legend.
I was just thinking about this while watching the king's avatar. (Story about The best Esports player in a game called Glory who lead his team to 3 championship wins being forced to retire.
His education at the time was equivalent to a averaging high school graduate, or maybe just below. Mostly because I'm pretty sure Korea in general have one of the highest education out of 20 to 15 countries.
Watched this like a month ago or so and only knew league through some songs nd had heard of fnatic before since my cousin used to be a fan (like 8 years ago), but since then i've managed to watch every single professional game with faker and wow, this dude is just a god, like having won worlds in 2013, his first professional year, and then managing to stay on top for years, winning two additional worlds, a second place and a shared third place, that's just out of this world. Anyone managing to do that in any competitive form is just a god In the beginning I had no clue what I was even watching but I'm slowly learning, and as I am, he just becomes more and more impressive, dude's a legend and deserves so much praise truly hope for their best T1's best in 2020, can't wait for lck spring and hoping to see Faker standing strong with Teddy and the new team members, even without Kkoma World championship 2020? I'll be cheering for them! (also i'm starting to understand why so many people enjoy watching things like football, although league is shit ton of more fun)
They did great in the worlds tho, faker chocked hard to be honest, and the team chocked with him, it was a shame, they could have won it, still they give a great performance
I always felt like this vid could do 2 more things better: Establish what people thought Faker as he came into the LCK, which was an unknown kid who tore up solo queue, and that kill with Nidalee was like 6 minutes into his first ever competitive game. 2nd: Bengi. He’s not mentioned moving with Faker to the S5 roster and he was never absent from any conversation about Faker because they had so much synergy. The most iconic Mid/Jg duo in League history.
It's a shame that they did not show series against ROX in 2016 worlds. That year was the first time faker wasn't considered the best player and he prooved his worth there against smeb
+Justas Lasickas When they saw the 3 man gank escape that Faker pulled off on his orianna against ROX . Smeb knew it very well he will always be at the 2nd spot on the 2nd best team in the world. Everyone already knew it from before, they just got a visual confirmation.
I'm really glad Faker's dad was supportive of his gaming career. School Education is EXTREMELY important in SK; the fact he allowed his son to drop out of HS for gaming, smth most parents look down upon, is crazy and only shows how much his dad trusted him. It allowed him to be one of their nation's pride.
Ahhh No, he is getting old and even though I am a fan of his I don't think he will get any better because a lot of younger guys will probably outshine him now but they will always live under fakers shadow of being the best.
Thats fine he’s waiting for his teammates to be stronger and to keep enjoying the game, like he is now so free to play the way he likes it and not have full of pressure to win for profit but to win because he did his best together with his team if he keeps winning the other gamers might get bored and the LOL /riot games might recreate the game.
@@conantonio5854 no faker said it himself he likes winning but he knows it's hard to stay on top plus he no longer is pressured to perform since new headcoach was he's old teammate and he's already co owning skt whether or not he retires is up to him but the lpl and lck always have pros retiring after a few season to introduce fresh talent the real pressure for faker rn is choosing who would succeed him in his role when he retires i mean closer is pretty good but he's young so he could grow more plus the pressure of being the one to succeed such a legend is no easy task

@@mrcaterpillow9926 the pressure is insane for the skt guys, i recently watched a docuseries on skt done by OGN, they had an episode with bang and his parents crying... faker had to see a sports psychologist... none of them normally get to see their parents due to all the training... all of them were pretty messed up after losing worlds.

I have never seen such a carry job, besides maybe Simple in csgo as I did in the 2017 worlds. SKT should have been knocked out in the 2nd or even 3rd round. But, Idk how Faker managed to 1v9 all the way through the finals. But, the finals you can't just have one great player and hope to win. You need a team, and I felt so bad for Faker, but things are looking up for him now.
Even samsung's coach said on their pre-finals press conference that skt depends on faker way too much and his role in the team is very high. ie their side lanes don't contribute as much as he does. Even the his opponents coach recognized what he brings during their 2017 worlds run
For anyone who says "Oh this isn't a real sport". Well being a game devoloper myself. I can say there is no difference between a game like Baseball or Basketball, Board game like Chess or a video game like LoL or a slot machine. They all are entertainments, set of rules and competition. Whether it is a sports arena, a board game or a digital gaming world. You can apply the same set of rules in any of them with a game. It all requires quick thinking(which is your brains) and strategy.
@@kinghades3356 There was games where he destroyed mid lanes that the jungle was forced to camp mid but still get wrecked by faker. Making other lanes harder since skt jungle can move freely knowing the enemy jungle camps mid and still gets killed. That's the impact of faker's presence
Years later I'm watching this video and I had braced myself so heavily to hear at the end that SKT's dominance had come to an end facing SSG in World's 2017 with the one of the largest upsets in Gaming. Then I realized the time this video was posted 😩😭
Apparently you don't have parents that support you. His father noticed Faker was good at playing games, he quickly realized that he could make a living off of it, and so he did. His father supported him and gave him the right motivation to keep going. Nobody is going to become a pro-gamer if their families hate them for it.
Watching this 5 years after it was posted and Faker is not only still the GOAT, he's just casually adding on more and more accomplishments and titles to his cap every year. T1 World 2022 champs tomorrow, no doubt!
I don't watch League, but Faker is probably the greatest esport athlete of all time, I don't know any other player who dominated their game as much as he has done, he's only 25 right now thats insane to me Like using CSGO as an example, even the GOAT of the game has rivals that aren't too far away from him, Zywoo has less years under his belt at tier 1 but he's already going toe to toe with s1mple and stole 2 #1 HLTV top player placements from him
Faker is the best LOL player that I know.Respect.He started gaming at the age of childhood and shoutout to his parents who let him play and believe him like that

You need to catch up to Faker first lol
Are you indian?
South Koreans are like that
Faker was rank 1 without even trying during his time and he was eyed by SKT (the most prestiged esports org in South Korea). So obviously his dad knew he was meant to be a gamer
Well if you are a gamer just to play games for fun. Then your dad will not support you. But if you want to be a Pro Gamer and winning tournaments because it will give you alots of money. Then your dad will be proud of you for sure.
I'm a dota player, but man mad respect to this guy he made a huge name to himself and a awesome legacy to lol.
Damn Ryu should claim for mental damage every time Faker’s story is told lol
Faker is my favourite LOL player, not only because of his insane skills and insight of the game, but also due to his determination and efforts he puts into it!
When the whole korean industry knows u and the whole world know u as a legend. I think the title League of Legends came form the legend himself
And here we are. Our name? ARMY researching squad.
lmaooo same
Hahaha same lmao

You join the army? Cool
Faker's story is really really like a legend out of an anime story....like how he already is strong then experienced his first lose but then he learned after that lose and then it made him even more stronger than never before....it's really....just epic.......this guy is a true legend.
I was just thinking about this while watching the king's avatar. (Story about The best Esports player in a game called Glory who lead his team to 3 championship wins being forced to retire.
i finished the kings avatar just yesterday, and the first thought i had after i finished watching this video was: i want to rewatch the kings avatar
Lol that's a little insulting to Faker. He's better than anything from anime, come on
He is like Messi of LOL. Most Skillful chill humble dude you found on that community. You just can't hate these kind of people.
true bro true no one hates faker
The Story of Faker: The Greatest of All Time
Ryu: agh shit, here we go again
can we talk about his ASIAN dad wanting him to be a PROFESSIONAL GAMER
Yes!!! Very Unique. Even amongst Korean family, its not common to want your kid to become a pro gamer. Many of them would say "Such a waste of time"

Thanks to EDG beating SKT at 2015 Mid Season Invatational Final, Faker came back stronger than ever.
High school dropouts.
Most famous people.
He's Korean, his dropout level is way higher than the average university graduate in the US.
Christian Kendall I think it’s because of the high stress they have
I meant that hes smarter
@@ShinobiXRevived his studying mark is good iirc
His education at the time was equivalent to a averaging high school graduate, or maybe just below. Mostly because I'm pretty sure Korea in general have one of the highest education out of 20 to 15 countries.
Who's after bighit confirmed that bts x faker and his team for tomorrows run bts
ME OHMYGOD I FUCKING LOVE FAKER SO MUCH IM PRACTICALLY CRYING AT THIS POINT
meee because i need to know what’s going on tomorrow,, i don’t even know how to play league of legends 💀
I'm a responsible army so of course I'm doing my homework on League of legends and T1 before the episode tomorrow ☝🏼😌
Me too!!!
I don't know sh*t about games but here I am. Faker is cute though 🥰
i dont even enjoy league of legends but man did i enjoy this video
I've never touched that game and this was great watch
same xD
Damn, mass respect for Faker, even tho I don't play LoL. His life must have had a lot of drama.
Damn, I didn't know that he was known in Growtopia.
how did you get the name Dirt
Watched this like a month ago or so and only knew league through some songs nd had heard of fnatic before since my cousin used to be a fan (like 8 years ago), but since then i've managed to watch every single professional game with faker and wow, this dude is just a god, like having won worlds in 2013, his first professional year, and then managing to stay on top for years, winning two additional worlds, a second place and a shared third place, that's just out of this world. Anyone managing to do that in any competitive form is just a god
In the beginning I had no clue what I was even watching but I'm slowly learning, and as I am, he just becomes more and more impressive, dude's a legend and deserves so much praise
truly hope for their best T1's best in 2020, can't wait for lck spring and hoping to see Faker standing strong with Teddy and the new team members, even without Kkoma
World championship 2020? I'll be cheering for them!
(also i'm starting to understand why so many people enjoy watching things like football, although league is shit ton of more fun)
And now I'm here, crying that he didn't make it to finals
It feels bad man but its okay faker era is over. And still the goat
@captain teemo nah, he will...no such exception for gaming field
captain teemo he can push military till he is 27 in international age. Korean law allows that. Faker will turn 24 next year so he has at least 3 years
They did great in the worlds tho, faker chocked hard to be honest, and the team chocked with him, it was a shame, they could have won it, still they give a great performance
@@enkhriimaauyanga9719 Nah he can play until he's 29. Imagine if he wins Worlds in his last season. Wouldn't that be wonderful.
I always felt like this vid could do 2 more things better:
Establish what people thought Faker as he came into the LCK, which was an unknown kid who tore up solo queue, and that kill with Nidalee was like 6 minutes into his first ever competitive game.
2nd: Bengi. He’s not mentioned moving with Faker to the S5 roster and he was never absent from any conversation about Faker because they had so much synergy. The most iconic Mid/Jg duo in League history.
Never played LOL, I don't even know whats going on in the gameplay, I just like his story as an athlete

I don't know anything about LoL and I have no idea what is going on I just know that it's pretty insane what he is doing
But I like his story
It's a shame that they did not show series against ROX in 2016 worlds. That year was the first time faker wasn't considered the best player and he prooved his worth there against smeb
they could also have shown the kespa cup match that happened right after where Rox won the final

Yeah no.. Maybe next year?
Ahhh No, he is getting old and even though I am a fan of his I don't think he will get any better because a lot of younger guys will probably outshine him now but they will always live under fakers shadow of being the best.
@@a.syching678 Exactly. Once he's retired you can never beat him, you can only become worthy to be spoken along side him.
6 years later dude is still taking over games. Crazy!
Mannnn worlds is going to be boring without faker
gen.g cant even defend their title
Its boring
word, i barely watched any of worlds, i just went on fakers live stream lul
Watching this knowing that he’s the first hall of legends inductee is *chef’s kiss*
I actually cried when he lost for the first time using leblanc.....
Wenro Lacson the most saddest time was when skt had a perfect winter split and then they lost every split in a row. They couldn't even win NLB. The only time where skt struggled really hard.

yeah, it will be a lot better if SKT faces ROX in the finals but, they just fought in the semis
But faker said that samsung series was the hardest of his life.
The baron exchanges in the last few games though... That series was so hype(except the first 2 games)! But the series against ROX was really good too.
Arnneth Pena if I'm not wrong he said it about whole tournament. SJokz asked which one title was the hardest for you: 2013 or 2016(because they were played both in America) and he answered about 2016
faker also said NA was equal to KR. hes a very humble player that will twist the truth. ROX 2016 was MILES ahead of SSG 2016 sorry to burst your bubble
Since I stopped playing Dota. I tried playing LoL because of Faker. I thought he's good and for me he is the Miracle of LoL. this Faker is a monster.
and then bang comes and 1v5 flashes and skt lost.
wasnt rekkless the one who did that? lol
Yeah after I watched the worlds finale and watching Bang man so many mistakes I was just flabbergasted. I'm curious why bang made so many mistakes, was it the stress of worlds or the fact it might be his last year to play due to south Korea's mandatory military service or what
@@mrcaterpillow9926 the pressure is insane for the skt guys, i recently watched a docuseries on skt done by OGN, they had an episode with bang and his parents crying... faker had to see a sports psychologist... none of them normally get to see their parents due to all the training... all of them were pretty messed up after losing worlds.

Even the his opponents coach recognized what he brings during their 2017 worlds run
bro fr, that 5-game Galio masterclass against RNG in the semis will remain as one of the greatest BO5 performances by a single player ever

Hey I am a game artist too

"His father believed he was born to be pro gamer" wtf
Светослав Дойчинов uhh he was right?
Thats korea. If you want to be famous in KR, you become a pro gamer.
Apparently you don't have parents that support you. His father noticed Faker was good at playing games, he quickly realized that he could make a living off of it, and so he did. His father supported him and gave him the right motivation to keep going. Nobody is going to become a pro-gamer if their families hate them for it.

Its been 5 years since T1's last win, but we'll be waiting for the comeback of the king. 😌

I don't watch League, but Faker is probably the greatest esport athlete of all time, I don't know any other player who dominated their game as much as he has done, he's only 25 right now thats insane to me
Like using CSGO as an example, even the GOAT of the game has rivals that aren't too far away from him, Zywoo has less years under his belt at tier 1 but he's already going toe to toe with s1mple and stole 2 #1 HLTV top player placements from him

The commentator could not have put it better. Even if he may not be the best anymore, there will never ever be another League of Legends player like Faker who carried his team and stomped the opposition in such an often unimpeded fashion, who was so ahead of his time as to be undisputably hailed as the Greatest of All time. Thank you for the video, almost 4 years later.
