The Story of Olofmeister (Extended cut)

- Nowhere do the powers of good and evil enchant fans quite like they do in competition. Where the hero can morph into the villain and right back again in the blink of an eye. It’s in this arena that we watch our idols fall from grace right before our eyes. And it’s on them to climb back up the mountain.
Olofmeister has walked the lines of hero and villain his entire career.
His is the quintessential Counter Strike story. The embodiment of a game loved by millions.
Sure, you may have heard pieces of his story in passing.
But this, is the whole Story of Olofmeister.

Taz calling for respect just after losing a very important match is still one of the most beautifull csgo moments for me
true! plus these uncultured swine are booing them like they're 5 year olds!
FACT$SSSSS
@PBisFIRE youre an idiot. Idiots man what can I say.
The clip shown here does not rly do it justice. The broadcast team tried to calm down the VP fans for a good few minutes the only thing that could in the end calm them was Taz. It was weird sitting in that arena that day.
ah yeah I kinda forgot about that (seen it online). where you there as audience or working? :)
Respect to taz for telling crowd to respect the finalists that crowd must be so stupid bluffing about the past even which has no connection with the amazing they just played that time
ajay shewale I think it is more connected to Fnatic beating Polish team in Poland. Everyone in the arena wanted to see VP win and when they lost they let out their rage on Fnatic. I don’t think it was that much connected with the boost and stuff.
@@teluris1130 No matter it was very nice from Taz. That guy is a living legend as well. Miss him so much. Definetly not the best aimer or strategy guy but that kind human react a time like that shows how high level he was. fnatic didn't find it out
didn't they pay someone on reddit to delete their post of the boost

felt like I was the only one that feels like the boost wasn't anything game breaking...you can hit them in the spot....to me it just seems like whiny asses getting their way since they hadn't thought of the peek first...

So true man.

Lol so right
Heaton was my inspiration ;)
I will never understand why people actually hated Olofmeister for the boost. Firstly it was a team effort. Secondly it was a cheeky play in CS.. it was eventually ruled illegal so they didn't benefit from it.. Why hate the guy for it?? In 1.6 you better believe that when CT's did a 5 man stack in lower (de_nuke) to defuse the bomb through the ceiling that we all CHEERED!
Also, often little spoken about is LDLC also did an "illegal" boost, so if they were to have replayed they needed to start the map again, but the admins said to restart after the half at 12-3 to LDLC thus saying LDLC boost was ok in the first half.
I definitely agree with this.
+1
toastedbagels ikr
toastedbagels oh wait i know why is that cheating i think it was cheating cuz he can see the whole map and he is invisible to the t side sorry for mah grammar
16:35 huge respect for taz right there
I don't understand why fnatic were made out as villains after they forfeited. To me that seems like the honorable thing to do in a case like this. Its not exactly their fault for using the boost either. Thats seems like more of a problem with the game than anything else.
I'm gonna jump on this old comment to clarify things. The problem isn't that Fnatic forfeited because they got called out, the problem is they forfeited even though both team's actions have been deemed illegal. So on the grounds of the ruling it wasn't Fnatic saying "okay we're ashamed, have the win". but instead just seemed like they just couldn't be bothered
There was no rules in that tournament about abusing a pixel either..
@Eric Jungmann and it wasn't illegal, so what's your point. People are just mad, because they didn't think of it first.
@Eric Jungmann How can you compare defusing a bomb through the floor to this boost? The other one was clearly a bug and in this case, the only part if which was bugged is that you could nearly see in CT spawn so what's your point?
Personally I think that since CS:GO pros like to brag about map knowledge and fnatic knew the map better
Finally! I was pissed that Olof got only 5 mins while less accomplished players like Shroud and Stewie got almost 30 mins each.
Olofmeister, perhaps overall the most skilled and respected player to ever play the game. Is there anything this man has not achieved? Back to back majors, MVP at ESL One Katowice, Hltv's no 1 player award in 2015, and to date, the only player in history to have made it to the playoffs of every major ever played.
While players like Get Right, JW, Neo, Forest, Pasha, KennyS, Coldzera, Flusha and FalleN had their peaks and then fell off, this man is still playing close to the level that he used to in his prime.
Put any weapon into his hands and he'll handle it like an extension of himself. M4, AK, AWP, there's no weapon that he'll not destroy you with and who could forget his infamous Rekt9?
Had his wrist injury not ruined him, who knows what he'll be doing even now? Maybe Fnatic would still be ruling. Maybe Faze will be the undisputed kings. S1mple who? Coldzera who? Prime Olofmeister is the best player to have ever played CSGO.
New prodigies will rise and old gods will fall but this man will forever be a timeless icon.

This is amazing! Yet another masterpiece about an legendary csgo professional. I loved how Taz came and told the crowd to respect olof, because that's what he deserves.
Thank you yet again theScore!
Even this “comprehensive” video fails to mention one key part to the Olof boost. The reason LDLC got so many rounds on the first half is that they had their own game breaking boost. Can’t believe this fact is still ignored.
It's absolutely not ignored and is the reason why the admins decision was to replay the map entirely, and not just the second half.
History is written by the winners and the whiners!
@@Polored1066 no the admin decided to replay on the 12 - 3 scored. Which is bs. Thats why they forfeit because they know it's unfair and insta lose.
@@Jin-di9zv I'm tired of people spreading lies on this topic. The night following this boost went in several steps: first, LDLC filed a complain for the boost, the admins reviewed it and decided to replay at 12-3. BUT THEN fanatic filed a complain of their own against LDLC's boost, the admins reviewed it and decided to replay the map ENTIRELY
As you can see ldlc are not alone in bitching. And the replay was at 0-0. If you want proof go fetch the hltv article about it with interviews of the amins, it's not hard to find, I'm on mobile and can't link it
@@Jin-di9zv "Fnatic decided to file a complaint of their own afterwards, as LDLC used a similar position on the first side of Overpass.
Taking the new information into consideration, DreamHack then took some more time to investigate LDLC's cases before the final decision was made. The third map, Overpass, will be replayed in full at 16:30 after the first semi-final"

Prime fnatic is missed ...
Perfect Pro it’s funny how the passage of time can change the perception of a team that was once so hated.
@@Durgenheim Its the same how a lot of people hate Astralis now (Not as much hate as the 2015 Fnatic got) and will miss it once their era is over.
Astro Yup, it’s like any other sport! Alabama in college football, the Patriots in the NFL, the Warriors in the NBA... people just hate the teams that consistently win.
Yup. Everyone used to hate the 1996 Bulls. But now they are praised like gods.
Real prime fnatic was the fnatic 2009 cs 1.6 roster
IMO the olofboost was in their rights to exploit. Valve hadn't paid attention to the map and they saw it being abused. It def wasn't fun to play against but it was well within their rights to use it.
Precisely! The CS community is filled with sheep! Olof was the scapegoat!
If the tournament rules specifically forbid tricks like these, then no, fnatic was not in the right to use it. They should be glad they got to replay the map (even though they forfeited anyway) instead of being disqualified
Actually the exploit they used which is a pixel boost or something where you use an invisible platform to boost is forbidden in most tournament rule books today, however it wasn’t explicitly stated in this tournament rule book. That’s why it was “controversial” not “illegal”.
@@SomP0 If i remember correctly, the problem was not that it was a pixel boost, but there were clipping issues, so the boosted player could see through some walls
SirQuadrat I’m a 100% sure it wasn’t a wall bug because the other team eventually figures it out and kills Olof while he’s on the boost. It’s used a texture bug as they call it to boost on top of a invisible platform.

"I just didn't feel it was fair." How was it not? It wasn't a game breaking glitch or hack, it was smart usage of mechanics and terrain. The game is centered around combat, and in combat, every advantage and edge matters.
it definitely wasn’t fair, there shouldn’t have been a pixel walk boost that wins you an entire map, that’s just absurd. they did abuse it knowing that it probably wouldn’t go in their favor. it was not a smart usage of mechanics and terrain, it was a game breaking exploit that literally got patched by valve the next day. olof is one of the greatest players of all time but the olof boost was just unfair, i’m glad the ruling changed because watching this game live was infuriating.

I wasn’t there to watch it live cause I wasn’t into pc gaming at the time but how can you not appreciate the absolute genius and team effort it takes to pull off such a powerful boost that it wins you 15 straight rounds? And by that I don’t even mean the fans, but the other players: yes it was a cheeky play but like you know what it takes to play the game at such high level how can you not appreciate that?

Best Swedish player of all time.
i would argue hes the best player of all time. he might not be the best now, but of all time for sure. i dont think any1 has remained on top for as long as he did. sure there has been players who have peaked and had moments where they were better than him (coldzera, simple and niko for example) but none of them were considered the greatest player for as long as olaf was
In csgo, yes, but you're missing out on f0rest and GeT_Right including early csgo and 1.6. They're both better players including that.

I have a similar start, and this is my inspiration. I am still young but I suffered a concussion in soccer that put me out of the game for a while, and then an allergic reaction (severe) that put me out of the game for a similar time, and now video games are my only escape
when I see the major final, decider map inferno & guardian missing that AWP shot, it kills me from within
sometimes flukes also get luck
Olof was one of the biggest reasons I've started watching competetive CSGO, hes an absolute legend of the game. And honestly, the Boost... thats not Fnatics fault, its Valve's fault. I never understood people being mad at Fnatic because of that. It was a problem with the game. Fnatic was actually smart enough to figure that out and use it to their advantage. He is going to retire as one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
Love Ur channel ♥️♥️♥️♥️

for me the boost was an 1q move,it just proves that he spend more time in the game than the other player.he's part of the cs:go history
olof didnt find the boost, reddit did and fnatic managers pm'd him to take the video down so no other teams would find it

Cloud9 making into yet another video lol
Played with Olof once on a team on Faceit. About a week before he returned after his wrist injury. Best 7 rounds I've ever been part of (until I played with Friberg in MM about 12 months later). Olof apologised for kicking me in round 8… I deserved it… I sucked as I was on a MacBook pro trackpad, and a new paid Faceit account. Love the dude. My best memories of CSGO have been watching Olof play and live stream. I always say that olof is the GOAT. All of my friends say no, it's gotta be someone like get_right, coldzera, or s1mple. Sure those guys are good, but they all play a flashy/niche style that stops working after a while. They can't hold onto their skills as much. olof has done great in every role, and remains a dominant player after a decade of pro CS play.
Cold and get_right definitely don't have the same style that s1mple does. So much so that even while mibr was horrible Cold kept in the top 10
