The Story of Bengi: The Jungle Himself

- SK Telecom T1 may have been considered the favorites heading into the 2016 League of Legends World Championship, but the defending world champions were on the ropes in their semifinal match against the ROX Tigers.
Down 2-1 heading into Game 4, SKT elected to swap out their starting jungler Blank in favor of a seasoned veteran who spent most of the season riding the bench.
Already a two-time World Champion, Bengi was supposedly over the hill. Where Blank started more than 80 games for SKT, Bengi had barely played 30, and the team lost about a third of those.
The community perception of Bengi was simple: his mechanics weren’t as good as they used to be and he couldn’t play Nidalee.
But Bengi was a World Champion. And with everything on the line, SKT needed a win. They needed a new strategy, a veteran voice to show them the path to victory.
They needed the player who brought them glory at every World championship they attended.
They needed Bengi.
With Bengi in the jungle, SKT managed to pull off the comeback, winning consecutive games against the Tigers to take the series 3-2.
When the chips were down, Bengi was the guy that SKT turned to to help preserve their winning legacy.
After all, they’ve never won Worlds without him.

Sakyon me too. We have to admit that it was also bengi who carried them throughout the SKT era. Faker is the heart, bengi was the backbone. I wish he had return to play :(

I can agree that seeing SKT in their current state as opposed to their past dominance is sad and something has to change but I'm not sure what their analysts will decide that is, but I believe we should respect Bengis wishes and let him be a coach if that's what he wants to do...

After Bengi not being the jungler of SKT, their dominance had been shattered apart as he is the core player of Faker's impactful plays and this duo is unstoppable. Bengi not in the line up, T1 ( formerly SKT) needs to find a new way to bounce back and reclaim their title as World Championship.

There is something really important you forget to say : Bengui said in interview for this game 4 vs ROX, kKoma did a mistake not banning Nidalee, and bengui said "it's ok i will pick it". I think it shows, even if he never plaid nidalee in competitive, even if he was not that good in this agressive jungle meta, he was confident enought to carry on this shoulders ! (sorry for bad english)

Bengi. One cannot deny that even bengi was invisible to most of their games, still Bengi came clutch in the most important games of SKT such as in Worlds. Being present in 3 world championships and winning it, he has nothing to prove anymore. He is the jungle himself. And that achievement is not just great but legendary. To win a championship is great but to win three is the real feat

FrogBeat Because of the tone of voice he uses, occasionally slow canter, long pauses and dramatic and slowly pronounced verbage. And the deadly use of orchestral background music... gets em every time.
He may not be the best mechanical jungler of all time, but Bengi absolutely dominated vision control to enable his lanes to carry. Even though Faker is obviously the star of SKT mechanically, I'd say Bengi is the most clutch player in the organization's history, especially in the 2016 Worlds semifinal against ROX Tigers. The only major blemish on his record is the 2015 loss to EDG, and he definitely redeemed himself in the year and a half that followed.

I will forever love the synergy of Bengi and Faker. Bengi's play style impacted the SKT dynasty. They should have signed him as their main jungler once more, not a coach. They need Bengi right now as they struggle in most of their games :( They don't look dominant anymore without him. Anyways, I love this quality content about him. Thank you for letting everyone know how great he is, and for me, he is the best jungle in the world.

Struggle? They are losing almost everything lol. They are close to being relegated. They need a hero. If this continues they might not even go to the worlds!
They will still go to worlds (together with KSV), they are re-evaluating every piece right now. They have the most talented coach and mid-laner. They have a bunch of rookies in the team, they just need time to create synergy. This may be not their year, but they will still bounce back.

Thank you for making this video of Bengi until now he is still my favourite player why I could always switch from the support role to the jungle role and will always be. I was in tears and in chills watching this video as to how true this is and why I love his playstyle making the way for Faker. I hope it remains as a reminder that in jungle role its okay your not fed with kills or being very underleveled as long you are doing it for a purpose to make others succeed. You already succeeded in your role.

Personally, The most iconic moment for me is when bengi played lee sin during rox vs skt 2016 semifinal game 5. The time where he insect the rox adc. It is beautiful. Bear in mind He replaced blank after skt losing 2 out of 3 games. Carried skt on game 4 and 5 thus bringing skt to finals. Such a great time back then. I will always remember u bengi✌.

I'm crying. I have been a huge fan of SKT ever since. This just brings me to tears. I miss the original roster from T1 #2/ T1 K, but each player is held so close to my heart. 2016 vibes , SKT last team in the LCK in middle of spring split , then they win worlds ... The issue is that the issues that they have to fix are not the same than what they were in 2k16 , but you know , they might just come up insanely strong in summer , with (maybe) a Marin comeback, and Blossom in the jungle.
looking at their current performance I just see no hope at all.. when mid dies the team just collapsed instantly. During interview in previous years wolf said each person on the team knows exactly what to do and no leader is even needed, now just ZERO synergy. And some top/jg mechanics are horrible to look at.... idk, i can even imagine them getting degraded to secondary league

See here bengi is a aggressive SUPPORT jungle that has no problem playing for faker on the other hand peanut is a aggressive CARRY jungle that's why faker and peanut would never work out. When bengi was on skt faker can play aggressive champs but when peanut came sure he still played his aggressive champs but he mostly in it to support his teammates
