    I was just given a used one from my brother. You have no idea how much this video has helped me. I have my list and I'm going to home depot to get the parts for the regulator. That was genius! Thanks again!

      Dis your list work for the low flow mod? I just tried to find what I needed at Home Depot to no avail…

    That’s the best modification I’ve seen. You solved the one drawback, fine low temp control.

    I have had all types of bbq grills this is the best by miles I have had mine for 4 years now and still works great I will defo get another when this one goes. It is light easy to use portable and the food is always perfect. Anyone who likes bbq food, this is ideal.

    Thanks for the video and tip about the extra regulator valve. I have the same issue when trying to do a roast, it just gets too hot so I'll add that extra valve. I took out the original grill plate and replaced it with a full set of Grill Grates cut to fit. It has made a good BBQ even better and also helps with over heating. Much easier to clean too.

      what are the measurements you used to order the grill grates? TIA

    • @wwfgumby
      @wwfgumby 2 года назад

      @@dank9288639 I bought a set of 18" (45.7cm) grill grates and ran them sideways across the BBQ. You need 2 which leaves a small gap at the back so I also bought one of the small spacer lengths to fill the gap. You need to cut them so that they have some movement in them when cold because they expand a bit when cooking.

    Can you tell me the exact name of the extension thumb valve you bought? I really need that. Your right it does stay hot. Home Depot is 3 miles away here in Sacramento. Thank you. Nice video

      Here is the name( Masterforce® 1/4" NPT Brass In Line Air Adjustment Valve). I found the thumb valve in the air paint guns section in our local Menards. My grill tubing was 1/8 pipe and the thumb valve is 1/4" pipe so I had to get reducer to make it work. You will need to use pipe tape and check for leaks with soap and water before use. I hope this helps!

    Loved the video, very informative but can this grill accommodate a full size propane tank??

    • @millersinthemoment5427

      Thanks, yes you can use a 20, 30 or 40lbs propane tank. You will need something like the following: www.amazon.com/Gas-Propane-Hose-20lb-Adapter/dp/B09PSZ549M.

    How did you remove the fitting on the end of the pipe to add the valve? Mine seems to have some sort of permanent thread sealer on it. Thanks

    • @millersinthemoment5427
      @millersinthemoment5427  3 года назад +2

      Thanks for the question. I applied a little heat to the end fitting. You will only need to heat that fitting like 5 sec with a propane torch. If your concern about damage to the regulator wrap a wet rag around the main body the heat the end fitting.

    • @millersinthemoment5427
      @millersinthemoment5427  3 года назад +1

      Pete, Yes the glue you're seeing is the sealant. you can either use yellow pipe tape or a sealant rated for propane.

    My issue with this grill is two fold, don't use marinade on your meat as it drips into the holes of the part the meat sits on and block them within a few minutes and it then only works like a pan on your hob with ribbed frying pan, the other major issue is the regulator that comes with the grill does not regulate the temperature - now matter what I turn it to (either using a bottle gas or the small portable gas little canisters) will got to a full 275 degrees C!! I have contacted Carbroil - no help or even a reply - and that is through their own website - would not recommend this. Thank you for your suggestion regarding your adjustment "in line" BUT that should not have to be done - it is a fault in the design of the regulator

    • @millersinthemoment5427
      @millersinthemoment5427  3 года назад

      Thanks for watching! I agree with both points, the holes do get plugged when using sloppy marinades but it hasn't blocked enough hole to affect cooking. With that being said I'm only cooking for 2 people so the amount of food on the grill surface may affect that. Having the factory regulator that you could reduce heat down to 100c would be great.
      Even with the 2 cons the grill has been bullet proof and has held up thousands of miles of travels in the back of my truck and being lugged into state and national parks, quiet sunset dinners on the beach or a quick a meal in a rest area. Try my regulator mod and see if that changes your feeling.
