The 9 year old actress was so incredible, she's definitely going places in her career because her performance was so insanely well done!
That "My Dreams Are Dreams" like while looking at her dad with pure hatred was such a great moment.
“Fucking fart knockers”
Or she peaked and that is all she'll be known for
She and her little sister Violet McGraw are definitely going places!
Or.... Not to be negative to your comment... But amazing child actors always tend to have their lives "cut short" before they peak... I wish everyone the best life because we're entitled to be happy and chase our dreams... But sometimes the spotlight is really a... BULLSEYE in so many ways

Yeah same dude I hate it when that happens a lot when you get a copyright claim
I love how all the other kid's calls are super ominous and scary, but Robins's call is heartfelt and encouraging, it gives that moment so much impact.
Robin's call is awesome.
I adore this movie and the plot behind it. The idea of the past victims helping Finney/being protagonists instead of the typical angry evil spirits harming innocent people was really nice for me. Seeing the kids do their best to make sure another kid doesn’t die is really emotional. The last phone call with Robin killed me.
Yeah. That's what really makes it "a scary movie with a heart of gold." It's an inversion of sinister supernatural "hauntings." The ghosts are haunting Finney in order to save him from their own fate.
It also killed the grabber
From beyond the grave and with help of a friend, they got the Grabber.
I love how Zoran disguised himself as Mrs. Janisse even though he was just on the phone 💀
He is a man of commitment, focus and sheer f*cking will
Zoran broke after the deathgasm kill count got taken down that he doesn’t understand how phones work
That's commitment

It's super awesome that zoran is handing the reins off to James and teaching him how to do the kill count, really showing how good of a mentor he is to James.

You’re an idiot
Really nice to see Ethan Hawke asking "are you ok?" at the end of takes to ensure the well being of the kids he's working with.

@@blizzard1218. They prob started working on it years earlier.. think abt it
I LOVED this movie. It focuses on the victims lives instead of the killer, which is super unique and in my opinion the right way to go. It then also opens up the possibility of a prequel, should they want to, showing why the grabber is who he is, the first kill, etc. Just amazing story telling all around.
I absolutely hate how some people pretty much harassed Ethan Hawk because of his role in this film. Such a gentle man, he didn’t deserve any of that drama.
I mean it’s realistic though. He played the role of kidnapper and sadistic killer. When you accept roles like that, you have to be prepared for anything that comes after that.
@@user-dy2sv6wm6u yeah fair point, unfortunate nonetheless.
@@B2W2005Keep in mind people harassed Jenna Ortega for having a glass of wine and a cigarette in her private time
That's cool as hell that they had the actors actually talk on the phone during the scenes. It also makes the last phone call even more badass considering you had all 5 boys taunting the killer on the phone before he gets his neck snapped.
finishing the grabber off with a compliment
I saw this in theaters with two of my friends. I had read the story and they hadn’t. During the scene where the killer is sitting in the chair with his belt in his hand, and wearing a belt, one of my friends remarked “he’s dual wielding” and the mom in front of us started laughing. The energy from the audience when the end scene of the killer getting killed was absolutely impeccable. Someone in the front row was yelling “that’s my boy!”
When I saw it with my sister and Dad, the audience cheered at The Grabber's death. We were all super invested and interactive. It was fantastic
god, that sounds like a fun time.
@@_the_rizzler this happened when I went as well! I’ve never had such an electric moment in a movie theater, this movie was fantastic

This movie is simple yet terrifying and emotional. One of my top three favorite horror movies.
i watched it today and it was one of those movies that had a lot of simple things but was so so tense. amazing film
Best horror movie of 2022 in my opinion.
Respect your opinion, but I think is not THAAT great, at least it's obviously good and better than most horror movies these days, and that reference to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre gives it a lot of points!
I’ve watched a lot of them it set the bar really high for 2023 if we get any!
This was a really good movie and the Grabber would've never got caught or killed if it wasn't for the siblings having their Mother's Gift and the brother getting captured to solve this missing children murder mystery plus this movie had that The Lovely Bones vibe 👍✌.
The girl really didnt do anything. The boy escaped himself and could've easily gone to the police instead of the girl
I wouldn’t say he would’ve _never_ gotten caught, since serial killers’ endless bloodlust always results in sloppy kills, giving authorities more and more evidence to work with. However, if the kid hadn’t killed him, many more children would’ve died before he was caught.

The Black Phone is one of my favorite horror movies I’ve seen in years. The acting is phenomenal. The abuse scene with Gwen and her dad made me cry. The scene with Finney and Robin at the end made me sob. I love this movie so much.
Ethan Hawke seems like a pretty chill dude irl. “Catch the balloons! You ok???” Just…aww. Also this is a really interesting plot, never seen one like this.
Well sometimes you have to be nice in order to get through stuff like this. Tony Todd scared the fuck out of Virginia Madsen in one scene. And she said he kept apologizing cause she didn't know they were going to do that.
The jumpscare with the ghost kids and Gwen actually made everyone in the audience jump. It was during such a high intensity part in the movie that it literally scared all of us so hard.
Oh wow that tell me this movie is good lol

same happened to the theater me and my husband went to. except that that jumpscare got my husband so bad that he bent his glasses to the point he almost broke them 😂😂😂

The way that James references Ethan Hawkes previous work by saying stuff like “the phone hasn’t worked since his boyhood” is just the best
I'm confused, I'm fairly certain that's a line in the actual movie and not a reference
@@CyniSchism96 the original line was “that hasn’t worked since I was a boy”. James said “it hasn’t worked since his boyhood” referencing the Ethan Hawke film “Boyhood”
@@user-um2nj8qc3h Gotcha! I'm not familiar with Ethan Hawkes filmography so that one flew right by me. Thanks!
I love how this movie ends on a positive note. I wish more horror movies would, it's nice to see our protagonist's suffering not be for nothing.
The way the dad explains the mothers dreams sound very much like schizophrenia and can explain why the father is worried it’s inherited
But she COULD see visions and it DID help, I think dad was jealous and felt inadequate to his wife
@@homelesshannah50 the father says it told her to do horrible things - if i had to guess the visions were quite rightfully trying to convince her to leave her husband or at least stand up to him. that or she just took the wrong messages from them

Man I loved the synched moment too I found myself crying in the theater and actually doing the moves too. I absolutely loved this movie.
I don't know why but it really got me when Bruce says to the grabber "...Finns arm is mint!" before Finn snapped his neck. When I saw it at the movies there were quite a few of us viewers who yelled out some variation of 'Yes!'

I don't think I've ever seen a more true hearted, energetic RUclipsr, like James a Janisse. Great man.
I absolutely love what they do with the dialogue in this movie. With each ghost kid’s last words all tying into that very last moment made for an extremely satisfying death scene.

And great To the numbers bit!
When Gwen ran through that fight, swearing like a sailor, to defend her brother, the movie theater freaking CHEERED.
14:52 anyone catch the adventure time reference? I love it
This isn't so much of a horror as it is a suspense thriller. It's set in the 1970's, which is when I was in elementary school, and all of the clothes, cars, music, and stores are pretty accurate. There were a few spots that were a little unbelievable, but overall, it was excellent. I loved all of the characters, but the little sister was the funniest. You need to watch this.
I love that Zoran dressed up as James’s mum for an audio only phone call 😂
He had to get into character

It was for that "It worked I got free ear earbuds" gag.

Just finished watching the movie! (Review in more)
Surprisingly, I find Finn's semi-abusive father to be highlight of this film. He isn't the stereotypical drunken abusive parental figure you'll usually see. He has about 2 scene's of complete douchebaggery early on, but later twoard the film he recieves alot of character development which emphasizes why he acts in the way that he does early on. He starts redeeming himself mid-way through the movie when he starts having more emotional dialoug with his daugther, and as he helps her cope with Finn's kidnapping by helping her prosue her psyhic dreams despite having every pre-requisite not to. The bittersweet ending helps solidify him as one of the most realistic abusive parental figures I've ever seen in a film.
Dead Meat is so productive, producing Kill Counts, the podcast, and James in so many weird costumes. THAT is dedication! I love it!
21:13 "Hello, hello, hello? Uh, I wanted to record a message for you to help you get settled in on your first night. Um, I actually worked in that office before you. I'm finishing up my last week now, as a matter of fact. So, I know it can be a bit overwhelming, but I'm here to tell you there's nothing to worry about. Uh, you'll do fine. So, let's just focus on getting you through your first week. Okay?
Uh, let's see, first there's an introductory greeting from the company that I'm supposed to read. Uh, it's kind of a legal thing, you know. Um, "Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. A magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or person. Upon discovering that damage or death has occurred, a missing person report will be filed within 90 days, or as soon property and premises have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached, and the carpets have been replaced."
Blah blah blah, now that might sound bad, I know, but there's really nothing to worry about. Uh, the animatronic characters here do get a bit quirky at night, but do I blame them? No. If I were forced to sing those same stupid songs for twenty years and I never got a bath? I'd probably be a bit irritable at night too. So, remember, these characters hold a special place in the hearts of children and we need to show them a little respect, right? Okay.
So, just be aware, the characters do tend to wander a bit. Uh, they're left in some kind of free roaming mode at night. Uh...Something about their servos locking up if they get turned off for too long. Uh, they used to be allowed to walk around during the day too. But then there was The Bite of '87. Yeah. I-It's amazing that the human body can live without the frontal lobe, you know? Uh, now concerning your safety, the only real risk to you as a night watchman here, if any, is the fact that these characters, uh, if they happen to see you after hours probably won't recognize you as a person. They'll p-most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without its costume on. Now since that's against the rules here at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, they'll probably try to...forcefully stuff you inside a Freddy Fazbear suit. Um, now, that wouldn't be so bad if the suits themselves weren't filled with crossbeams, wires, and animatronic devices, especially around the facial area. So, you could imagine how having your head forcefully pressed inside one of those could cause a bit of discomfort...and death. Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth when they pop out the front of the mask, heh.
Y-Yeah, they don't tell you these things when you sign up. But hey, first day should be a breeze. I'll chat with you tomorrow. Uh, check those cameras, and remember to close the doors only if absolutely necessary. Gotta conserve power. Alright, good night."
Those Christian finisher move references were amazing! The way you inserted killswitch and unprettier in a sentence was seamless 😂
