- SummerSlam 2013 is so fun, and to be honest it isn't because its some crazy stacked card, its just the two main events. The two main events are two of my favorite WWE matches of all time. 2013 was the year I got hooked back in to WWE and these two matches helped me immensely. So I said why not go back and talk about them

It's not everyday that you have the two matches of the year in the same event (Brock vs. Punk & Cena vs. Bryan). Also the previous months leading to this SummerSlam RAW became incredibly better. 2013 & 2014 were the last good years of WWE for me and this makes that PPV a lot more special.
2016 was very good tho
That IC feud with Miz and Ziggler on SD live went on for nearly 5 ppvs over the year ,and their Title vs Career match was definetly a 5 star match

I like 2013 stuff too. Summerslam was great,but i remember being pissed off by the results at the time.
My Summerslam was 2002 when Shawn Michaels and Triple H wrestled in a no holds barred street fight and when The Rock and Brock Lesnar wrestling for the WWE Undisputed Championship in which the next big thing Brock Lesnar won and became the youngest WWE Undisputed Champion

What Made Summerslam So Fun?

The match between Christian Cage and Alberto Del Rio is an underated gem. One hell of a performance from both men. The chemistry between the two of them is incredible. This match had everything! From in-ring psychology to back and forth wrestling filled with counters, reversals and submission holds, all happening at break neck speed.

When i had sky tv for the first time as i was like 13-14, i found wwe by accident and what got me in wwe again was legit 2013 summerslam, so happy that i started sooner than later, imagine you started watching wwe in lockdown time(2020) pure pain imo
Felt like the summer vibes also went heavy into this show. The theme music “Reach for the Stars” was playing in every ad I saw, the poster of the roster on a roller coaster, the throwback trailer that showed the roster as kids and then what they turned into, I can remember the feelin of watching those ads and commercials and as well as the promo packages for the final two matches.
The 2k footage was 🔥
SummerSlam 2013 is my favorite PPV, and yeah this show is very much a two match show, but the ring of fire match for Bray Wyatt's debut was cool, and all the other matches weren't bad. The world title matches and Punk vs brock made that show go from solid, to amazing.
Also I love the accuracy of how you recreated the actual spots of the matches using video game footage. better than 2K when it comes to that.
My best decision to buy summerslam 2013 that year. Really good ppv. I remember being pissed at the ending tho😂
Bro I remember this was the first PPV that I ordered at my moms house. Every other PPV before that I went to my dads, but I was able to watch this at my moms. I invited my friend over, so me, my friend, and my brother all watched this event. It was such a blast. I had such a good experience with this PPV.
2013 is by far the best WWE year of this decade.
The Summer in particular was pretty damn great.

The whole Authority angle got old and pretty much every RAW would end in a DQ or run in with Kane lol.

I remember when I started watching wwe it was around the time where Daniel Bryan was heavy weight champion and after seeing this summer slam match I was glad I was a Daniel Bryan fan
When I think of 2013/2014 I think of Daniel Bryan’s rise to the top & CM Punk’s last tenure in the WWE.

It feels so weird that big PPV moments I remember watching as a kid are now legacy moments being made into the games. I haven’t watched WWE in a long time but god damn seeing those clips gave me some odd nostalgia
I agree about WWE being enjoyable during this time. Honestly I enjoyed 2013-14. Bryan’s journey to the top,the rise of The Shield, The Wyatt Family was a fresh concept, CM Punk was still around, Rhodes Family vs The Shield. The product back then still had many of the same problems it has today, but at least it had some interesting storylines. By 2014 Punk had walked out, Bryan got injured and relinquished the championship, and The Shield split up, and my interest in the product (main roster) took a nosedive.
Daniel Bryan vs The Authority is the last great long-term storyline we’ve gotten from WWE (excluding Gargano vs Ciampa but that’s NXT)
That Christian vs Del Rio match was definitely underrated

Daniel Bryan's rise from Summerslam 2013 to WM 30 was better then The Summer Of Punk
What Made Summerslam 2013 so great
Pros:
* Cena Loosing to Daniel Bryan
* And Suddenly Randy Orton Cashed his mitb on Daniel Bryan at same time Triple H's Heel turn after the years
* The Rise of the authority
* CM Punk's Underrated Performance against Brock Lesnar tbh he nearly pinned him but in the end Brock Won.This match stole the show,the crowd loudly chanted Punk’s name as he limped back up the ramp.
*The Debuts of the Wyatts and defeating Kane wow Kane really oversold him and that's the last "Ring of fire" match happened on WWE
* Cody Rhodes Defeating Sandow - well I loved their Storyline even tho they were midcarders they did their best.
Cons:
* Christian's "One More Match" for World Title against Del Rio...not a good one but loved to see Christian as Champ
* And I was Disappointed with the Kickoff - RVD made his grand return @MITB but after 2 months ... be became a jobber can't blame his it's all WWE's fault of doing that till now :3
* worst booking on DZ and kattie against BigE and AJ this is somethings that's not needed,the better don't book Ziggler to loose on Del Rio @MiTB ppv that pissed off everyone..and plus AJ x DZ were the hottest couple that time just like Edge and Lita but they just put an end to all
* No Intercontinental Title Match and Tag Title match alose Making US Title match @ the kickoff.
* Worst Booking overall except Best vs the Beast & Cena vs Bryan
Conclusion: This is not the best SummerSlam I prefer the Previous years' But yes It bought back more memories esp. CM Punk's...

Brock Lesnar vs CM Punk was an amazing match
Man I'm no pro wrestling fan but Punk was always one of my favs, was very rare he didn't put on a good match, you can't say they didn't call the entire Summer of 2011 the "summer of Punk" for no reason. I will forever say Brocks best match bar none was where he won his first title against the great one at Summerslam 2002 (a genuine gem of a card by the way, I doubt we'll ever see quality like that again in the WWE) but this ones up there, they both put it on. Just a shame that he didn't do what Rock did for him and job to Punk, he might well still be in the squared circle if he had.

Summerslam 2013 is damn good show. Punk vs Lesnar, Cena vs Bryan, Christian vs Del Rio, hell, Rhodes vs Sandow is even a good match.
In 2013 cena should've taken a back seat and went into the mid-card for awhile. CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan should have been the company top faces I mean at the time all 3 were white hot. The shield should have been the top Heels. Just imagine these 6 as the top stars. The stories that could have been told.the matches that could've been had. I wish they did a 6 man tag with this group. Unfortunately Ziggler, punk and Bryan were all screwed pretty bad by WWE. They cut Punk short for Cena and Rock 2: electric Boogaloo. D.Bry I don't even need to go into details about the shit they were trying to do to cool his shine down. And they took that world title off Ziggler so fast I got whiplash.
