This video would be better titled what made CM Punk vs John Cena so iconic. The MITB PPV is great due to not only CM Punk and John Cena but due to the 2 great ladder matches and the good Randy/Christian match and decent Mark Henry/Big Show match that both had good stories and moments.
I live on the south side of chicago and me and a bunch of my cousins went there and it was amazing. When cm punk ran into the crowd after the match he was so close to us.
I always thought it would be more better if WWE really pull the trigger that time and let Punk wrestle with other promotions with a WWE title and actually defending it. I think it would be the best thing to happen in pro wrestling history.
I still remember this match and storyline growing up. It was around the time when I was 1st getting into Wrestling and enjoying it, and the Moment this storyline was building up, was the Moment I became MORE of Wrestling fan. And I still watch Wrestling today and hell even old school Wrestling as well, and I just gotta thank both CM Punk & John Cena being both my favorite wrestlers today and making me fall in love with Wrestling to this day!!

This ignited the world's fascination for wrestling since the attitude era, it was a real treat to watch the buildup to this match.
It was the biggest PPV of the year no doubt! Me and my mate watched it live and i remember just how big this ppv felt. It was the first time in years that WWE had great storylines and the summer of punk was underway.
Evan Bourne tag teaming with Cena in a few raw main events was my favourite part of 2011 it showed that bourne was just as awesome as cena, they should have teamed more
I remember watching Raw each week and MITB that year and just remember Punk just stagnating when he jumped to Raw after his incredible rivalry with Rey Mysterio. The pipebomb came out of nowhere and it set the wrestling world on fire! There are few moments in wrestling that are truly special and the feeling around them can't be duplicated. This whole storyline has got to be the best thing WWE has ever done or will ever do. AEW is great but it can't top this time in wrestling.
2 things about this pay per view are pretty much god tier. 1. John Cena actually took this shit serious instead of just losing and then laughing about it. 2. The pay per view peaks up to the main event. The ladder matches and everything are awesome and then it just hits that high note with Punk’s entrance and when he won the title. God. It’s phenomenal. A lot of wrestling fucking sucks. But when it’s good? God damn.
Awe the Summer of 2011, turning 15 in August, playing SVR 09 after a long period, watching Secret life of the American teenager, as well as Iron man Armored Adventures and Voltron force, American Dad and Aqua team hunger force. And watching this whole angle play out, truely one on the best Time periods to be a wrestling Fan
