The CBR makes similar peak power but needs to be kept on the boil to be real fast as the power band is R6-like in nature, almost 2 stroke like, goes from nothing to insanity... 214 hp is nothing to sneeze at for sure, and the weight difference between the 2 is a few lbs… I know top end high speed drag races the CBR is a bit faster, and on the track it’s also quite a bit faster… that probably has more to do with gearing though, that’s both bikes being unlocked…

I do think the new Blade is more desirable but if I was shopping I’d buy a pre reg/demo RSV4, have a bit more comfort and that soundtrack. Maybe the Honda would help me keep the licence a bit longer.. 🤷♂️ Both are stunning.. ❤️
This was a most excellent video! Watching two kids in a candy shop! I purchased a Tuono Factory this summer based partially on your review.... Having said that I did a bunch of test rides and research on my own. My other bike is an '89 CBR 600 and it sounds like Honda power delivery hasn't changed in decades, lol! It's a total Jeckle and Hyde around 6000RPM... As for the technology well there's carbs vs EFI and then some. All said and done, it sounds like I need to save up for the RRR, damn it!🤣
I remember not that long ago Kawasaki getting a hard time on most tests for the 10R needing revs and having long gearing. Looks like Honda have pulled the same trick but most people don't seem to be giving it the hard time for some reason. Good to see you guys kept it honest. I get why they do it - if you want a track gearbox you want a long first and very close ratio's after that then they just up the final with sprockets to make it a road bike. I find it really irritating on a road though. Just as you come out of a corner at a lowish speed and want it to just grunt it won't and you sit there with grip to spare waiting for it to wake up. Then by the time it does wake up you're back in a corner and so it goes on. Fun road bikes don't benefit from that kind of gearing optimisation so Honda saying its a track bike is either fair enough or a cop out depending on how you see it. Personally I hated it when 600's turned into rev boxes but thats worse on a thou.

The blade looks great but you would soon get sick of your mates wasting you out of the corners and imagine the depreciation on the blue after 2 years . Around 10 grand I would say ,,, ouch!
I'd say the Aprilia should be 10/10 for value as it is top of the line Italian exotic bike you can get under 20k. Aprilia is soo underrated. My mate picked up brand new Tuono for under 12k€ out the door.
Visually the Blade looks better IMO, the RSV paint job doesn't do it justice. Having had a Blade in the 90s I'd probably choose that over the Aprilla because you can ride it sensibly and of course the reliability reputation of the Honda when you're spending that much money has to figure in there somewhere? Nice one chopsey I enjoyed that even though in reality I'll never have either 👍
I've ridden a Blade to work and back(two different blades to be accurate) for the last six years, a round trip of 122 miles in complete comfort, so when I tested the RR-R I tried to replicate my daily commute but had to turn back half way through the ride because of the pain, IMO Honda have shot themselves in the foot with the 2020 blade, not all of us are track day fanatics so I'll be opting for the S1000RR as the replacement for my 2016 blade.
It's almost like a race to make the most uncomfortable bike. It's the reason why so many people have purchased naked bikes instead. Pretty soon, they'll have the foot pegs so high and front end so low, you'll have to be 4ft tall to be comfortable. I'm with you, I'm not a track day guy. I'll watch the professionals have at it. The BMW is the good choice.
@@Bredaxe I agree with you 100%, if I didn't do 80 miles of my commute a day on the motorway I'd definitely go for a naked middleweight or super naked.
Good review. Nice to see something different from the usual magazines 44t etc. Not that they’re bad but great to see a ‘normal’ review too. Bikes are all gone expensive though so value is relative. I suppose you can start comparing by how much they cost on pcp coz that’s what’s driven the price up and that’s how most bikes will be bought now so people don’t really care about the final price. Cars went the same way didn’t they

Of course its better in every way. No excessive electronic intervention. Good power and light weight tuned to rip a canyon more than run the track all day. A lot of people flamed it back then for not having the top speed of the other 3 big players but its the riders bike out of them. The new one is just a race bike motor with a whole lot of gadgets to wow and dazzle you, and ride the bike for you. 2010 was the swan song year for riders motorcycles. Just like a drivers car. If you want one you gotta buy used by at least 10 years

Aprilia RSV4 😘❤❤
Will be interesting to see if a tune (map, exhaust etc) puts some needed mid range in the Honda.
Greg and John, are to dual bike reviews, are what Baron and Alastair are to BBB adventures. MUST SEE TV!!! Content is incredible Chops!! Keep it up Greg, kudos to you as well, enjoy what you’ve brought to the table👍🏻🔝🎥🎬🆒

Yet another entertaining review. Well done from the pair of you. Still have no idea who "John" is 😄 LCR you need to give Greg an alias! 😄 I can watch your reviews, or whatever you put on your channel, any time of the day, with whoever is in the room. Quality, and you don't need to be offensive to get your point across. As some others do. Brilliant guys! Keep you score cards to look back on!
Thanks matey appreciate the kind words really do 👍
The blade looks great but you would soon get sick of your mates wasting you out of the corners and imagine the depreciation on the blue after 2 years . Around 10 grand I would say ,,, ouch!
I'd say the Aprilia should be 10/10 for value as it is top of the line Italian exotic bike you can get under 20k. Aprilia is soo underrated. My mate picked up brand new Tuono for under 12k€ out the door.
Great video as always. Would like to see a comparison of the new Aprilia 660 sports bike and the Yamaha R6.
Am I alone thinking a proper straight 4 (this blade) sounds better than a V4?
Visually the Blade looks better IMO, the RSV paint job doesn't do it justice. Having had a Blade in the 90s I'd probably choose that over the Aprilla because you can ride it sensibly and of course the reliability reputation of the Honda when you're spending that much money has to figure in there somewhere? Nice one chopsey I enjoyed that even though in reality I'll never have either 👍
Good review chopsy, we wait for your review on the new bmw 1000rr
14:40 bye!
@@AndrasMihalyi Thereby alienating customers who buy and change their road friendly blades on a regular basis.
Is there an aftermarket fix for the blade to stop the indicators being permanently on?
Good review. Nice to see something different from the usual magazines 44t etc. Not that they’re bad but great to see a ‘normal’ review too. Bikes are all gone expensive though so value is relative. I suppose you can start comparing by how much they cost on pcp coz that’s what’s driven the price up and that’s how most bikes will be bought now so people don’t really care about the final price. Cars went the same way didn’t they
Love the look of the Honda. And for me, it even sounds better.
But at 5K cheaper. The Aprilia is a bargain.
