    With the ecu unlocked the CBR will be a maniac unleashed, I recon.

    • @sleeper.simulant7327
      @sleeper.simulant7327 Год назад

      The CBR makes similar peak power but needs to be kept on the boil to be real fast as the power band is R6-like in nature, almost 2 stroke like, goes from nothing to insanity... 214 hp is nothing to sneeze at for sure, and the weight difference between the 2 is a few lbs… I know top end high speed drag races the CBR is a bit faster, and on the track it’s also quite a bit faster… that probably has more to do with gearing though, that’s both bikes being unlocked…

    • @jake88ci

      For some reason unlocking the ecu screws the ecu up? =lose traction control, wheelie control abs . Source Brent tune video on you tube .Has a massive over heating problem , ecu burning up Hondas big mistake

    • @Nick-Edwards
      @Nick-Edwards 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@jake88ciI believe that issue has been resolved now. It was a really hard ecu to crack. The fireblade is definitely faster but it’s so hard to beat that Moto gp aprilia sound. Since I ride more on highway and interstate roads, the fireblade would probably be more suited for me as I could open it up.

    The double act on this type of review is spot on Chops! Great work on the channel as usual. I think the new Honda is absolutely mint looking and the sound is truly awesome. Totally nuts! The quality is evident everywhere you look on it.Though, I'm an RSV fan and that bike is simply awesome. The soundtrack from the RSV is there right from tickover. And it's got more go lower down. Both great bikes and I'd be happy as Larry with either of them.

    You hit the nail on the head when you said about the blades flatness in low revs being great in town to keep speed down. I’m pretty sure that Honda thought about this and noticed it themselves (who develops a bike as well as Honda?!! ) If are out on the fast roads going for it , you keep it in the revs!!! Simple. I would see it as a bonus.

    Really like the double act, two mates talking bikes - slightly different views which builds a better picture of the bikes. For me though as the handling on the top bikes is way better than you can use on the road, it comes down to power usability, sound, some comfort and then looks - in that order, the Aprilia with it's midrange and perfect sound would get my money.
    To put this into perspective though, in the latter half of 2006 we were selling the fabulous GSXR1000K6 for 6k on the road !!!!!!!

    With all the might of HRC, why did they not make the blade a V4? It’s not like they haven’t done it before. It still sounds amazing. Funny to think that a straight four at full chat should sound nostalgic.

    • @monkmoto1887
      @monkmoto1887 3 года назад +2

      They wouldn't call it a fireblade itd be a vfr. The defining characteristic of the fireblade is the engine type. VTR1000 was v twin r . Vfr is v four r. Cbr is a cb (typically a parallel motor) r. Old vt500 came in c and f. V twin 500 cruiser. V twin 500 faired. V twin 500 ascot. Honda is really easy to understand their naming system its like bmw but they actually stick to their own rules.

    I think the question is wether you can live with the characteristics of the Blade. It sounds like too much of a compromise for a road bike. I do think the new Blade is more desirable but if I was shopping I’d buy a pre reg/demo RSV4, have a bit more comfort and that soundtrack. I remember not that long ago Kawasaki getting a hard time on most tests for the 10R needing revs and having long gearing. Looks like Honda have pulled the same trick but most people don't seem to be giving it the hard time for some reason. Good to see you guys kept it honest.
    I get why they do it - if you want a track gearbox you want a long first and very close ratio's after that then they just up the final with sprockets to make it a road bike. I find it really irritating on a road though. Just as you come out of a corner at a lowish speed and want it to just grunt it won't and you sit there with grip to spare waiting for it to wake up. Then by the time it does wake up you're back in a corner and so it goes on.
    Fun road bikes don't benefit from that kind of gearing optimisation so Honda saying its a track bike is either fair enough or a cop out depending on how you see it.
    Personally I hated it when 600's turned into rev boxes but thats worse on a thou.

    Yet another entertaining review. Well done from the pair of you. Still have no idea who "John" is 😄 LCR you need to give Greg an alias! 😄 I can watch your reviews, or whatever you put on your channel, any time of the day,with whoever is in the room. Quality, and you don't need to be offensive to get your point across. As some others do. Brilliant guys! Keep you score cards to look back on!

    Good review. It's always nice to hear what people feel and think when they ride a bike. But that race on 3rd gear was misleading; it's almost like you guys don't understand redline and gearing :D

    Good review. Nice to see something different from the usual magazines 44t etc. Not that they’re bad but great to see a ‘normal’ review too. Bikes are all gone expensive though so value is relative. I suppose you can start comparing by how much they cost on pcp coz that’s what’s driven the price up and that’s how most bikes will be bought now so people don’t really care about the final price. Cars went the same way didn’t they

    My RSV4 1100 Factory 2020 is more better than CBR 2020 because their 4 cylinders in line is MORE linearry but when Honda will be a V4 !!?! The architectur’motors is this with more fun on road ! Nobody can say the opposite ! Good job for video guys ! See from France 🇫🇷✌🏼

    Calling the blade too flat and boring and slower than a ZX6R down low whilst riding it at 40 MPH in a gear which tops out at about 150 MPH.....
    I assure you at any speed, if you pin it whilst in first it is PLENTY fast for a public road, and while it really picks up at 6500 RPM, it doesn't take long at all to get there, and once it does, it is simply too fast for a public road anyway.
    On the track you'll always be above 6500 RPM so it's obviously a non issue there either.
    This bike is blistering fast!

    Visually the Blade looks better IMO, the RSV paint job doesn't do it justice. Having had a Blade in the 90s I'd probably choose that over the Aprilla because you can ride it sensibly and of course the reliability reputation of the Honda when you're spending that much money has to figure in there somewhere? Nice one chopsey I enjoyed that even though in reality I'll never have either 👍

    I'd say the Aprilia should be 10/10 for value as it is top of the line Italian exotic bike you can get under 20k. Aprilia is soo underrated. My mate picked up brand new Tuono for under 12k€ out the door.

  • @zsr2009
    @zsr2009 3 года назад +1

    14:32 into the clip '40 mph 3rd gear' the RSV4 just pulls away easy from the Fireblade. Really bad comparison of power delivery between the two bikes. The Fireblade has really looooong gearing. On a racetrack when all other comparable Super Bikes are cornering in 2nd gear, the Fireblade will be cornering in 1st gear. You guys do some great reviews, but you misunderstood how the gearing works on the Fireblade.

    The shift lights are white ,red,then blue, problem is when you hit your set rev limiter at night, kinda catches you off guard that a cop is pulling you over with the flashing colors reflecting off the mirrors. Maybe Honda intentionally picked those colors so you slow down?
