The Grymforge is so full of history it seems. So much that we've seen is related to Shar, it's going to be crazy to see how all of this ends up

I just realized why Astarion was coming onto you so strongly and why it felt not sincere.
It's because of his past and how he thinks he is owes you something for your help, and heartbreakingly bc he was basically used as a prostitute by his "master" to lure victims, that's the only way he knew how to express gratitude.
Honestly, even when romancing Astarion, I hated that conversation in the swamp. I romanced him on my second playthrough and it triggered in almost exactly the same place that you did (right after killing Gandrel; presumably because you get a big bump in approval from doing that).
As much as I like Astarion in general, the whole thing was just so awkward and presumptuous that I probably would have noped out of there on the spot if I hadn't already understood him and his motivations pretty well from finishing the game once. Even so, Shadowheart's face there was pretty much mine the entire time and I was just sitting there like, 'oh god, is this really how this romance is going to start? Why are you being gross in front of the whole group, dude?'
Definitely agree. While now I do like Astarion, this convo was just very strange
Lol poor Gandrel. Maybe next playthrough, he can make it to Act 3 😂
I have a very chaotic good playthrough atm. Playing a Luck Bender of Tymora build, made by Hobozone :D
Tymorans and Zhents are not really good friends so i did something really badass this time. I let the gnolls eat Rugar and Olly. Then i took their chest unopened, went to the zhent hideout. Then i bought off Oscar and freed him. Then went to Zarys and deleivered the chest - cashed the reward. Then i killed all the evil Zhentarim and stole all out their treasures. :D
Fun fact, if you kill Zarys, you can still loot the chest back from her.
Spoiler alert: The bottle in the chest has another Beholder inside. ^^
Almost a shame you passed the check with the Duergar on the raft ... That is one of the most fun fights in the game (if you count three of your party being pushed into the water before you get a turn as "fun")
I paas that check on every playthrough and im always disappointed

I was only really interested in Halsin but since he was unavailable I was flirty with Astarion while I waited and ended up in the full romance. I also thought the way he hits on you at first was weird and honestly just put it down to really weird and janky writing, but if you end up doing his romance it actually makes a lot of sense later on
you didn't just refuse Astarion did you? omg It was rly random "confession" but I personally still can't get myself to decline so it's quite fun to see others do that I can hear the sassy Astarion 😂😂
Yeah the confession caught me off guard, I figured I had shot him down enough previously for him to get the hint lol he’s trying to flirt with a lesbian
Well, just cos you mentioned it… I hate Wyll with a passion. I’m glad you like him and have no interest in trying to change your mind or anything but I hate him so much 😂
He refers to himself as the Sword of the Coast, or whatever, and he calls himself a hero. He’s so full of himself. He’s a boastful buffoon who cares more about his own legend and what others think of him than anything else. He’s totally fake. I want to punch him every time he opens his mouth. The actor does a good job but the character sets my teeth on edge.
While I’m at it, I don’t like Astarion or Karlach either. That’s what I like about RUclips though, I can enjoy other people’s points of view and learn something I’d not be exposed to normally. I’d never try to convince you to exchange your opinion for mine. What could I learn from you then?
What you're describing sounds a lot like his Early Access version, just checking you're aware he got changed substantially for full release (and recast). Your opinion's absolutely valid, of course.
