Thank you for putting it on a plate and giving it the best possible chance. It is super unrealistic to expect these meals to come to you exactly as pictured but I see some reviewers eating it out of the packaging and complaining it doesn't look like the plated version. It's because you have to plate it.

You are paying ten to fifteen bucks a pop for a product that consists of/contains, maybe two-bucks worth of prepared food product plus three-bucks worth of packaging and handling costs. That makes you something nobody really wants to be known as. It also makes you a prime candidate for Type III diabetes, which = dementia. Just think about it this way: By actually enlisting into these meals on wheels subscription type services you are actually connecting yourself to an umbilical cord invented by Stanford Business School graduates to make themselves wildly rich by using you on a high-margin conveyor belt to dementia until you can't pay any more. It's worse than that, of course, because since you have put yourself on this conveyor belt in lieu of stopping once a week, turning off your devices, physically shopping for whole and wholesome foods, then stopping again, a couple times a day, to prepare and consume those foods. By choosing the conveyor belt, in other words, you enhance the fabulous wealth of even more fabulously rich Stanford graduates who are making even more money because you remain on your devices, consuming the content and advertising they are peddling.

We get 12 meals all together between my husband and myself. We work all day from 5 a.m to 9 p.m 6 days per week. we don't have much time to be doing every meal at home, and we carry lunch every day. I got 6 meals for the first time last week. I noticed that they asked for my preferences (Keto, Vegan, etc). It's my understanding that they won't limit options to just that, but they will put them at the top of the list. I didn't get a bag...mine came in a box, like Hello Fresh, and mine was delivered via FedEx. I live in the midwest (Kansas City) so maybe that's what they do here.
All of the 6 meals were VERY good and the portion size is right for me. My least favorite was a shrimp chili, which was flavorful, but just wasn't to my liking, but I'm sure others will love it. I had used Hello Fresh, which was okay, but I eventually grew tired of prep and cleanup. This was only about $20 more than Hello Fresh, and in my opinion is well worth it.
I was afraid that these might be like a glorified Lean Cuisine or Stouffer's meal, but they are FAR better. Prep was easy and cleanup was little more than tossing the carton in the recycle bin and putting the silverware in the dishwasher. I'm going to continue with them as it's an easy and most importantly, delicious meal solution.

I get Cook Unity delivered from NY to CT, and so far they have been amazing! At first I had an issue with shipping (had a delay with the carrier service) I gave them a second chance and they have totally redeemed themselves! Not only do I use them for dinner 6 days a week, I also use them for lunch! Portions, freshness, cost and taste is 5/5! I read other negative reviews in the comment section, and I can't speak on other regions, but speaking from my own experience it has been great. Also usually when a company doesn’t respond to a collaboration request, I’ve seen it’s more times than not because the person reaching out to them is pitching an unrealistic offer to them and wanting more from that company than what they’re offering in return.

Hi Stahe! Totally fair! It's definitely cheaper to cook meals at home for sure.
Regarding my potential collaboration with them, interestingly I did not actually pitch them anything other than me making a review for them (I would have been happy with just a box to review). I just inquired generally if they were interested in working together.
They actually did respond to my request and said they were interested in working together. And then I responded to confirm they were ok that I always talk about pros and cons in my reviews (as I tell every company) and they ghosted me after that 👻, so who knows!

I just started looking into a meal delivery service, and so stumbled upon a few of your reviews. The first one that caught my eye was Tovala. I like the convenience of just tossing the trays in the oven and having them be done in 20 minutes; but I really just don’t need the countertop oven. I already have a Breville countertop convection oven/air fryer (and a dozen other settings) and getting another countertop oven doesn’t make sense. Unfortunately, many of the other meal plans seem to be geared towards microwave cooking, which my wife and I do not want to do. I currently subscribe to cookunity , 12 meals per week . I’m pretty shocked at your review because of your portion sizes …. I have yet to receive such a full portion … my orders look pretty skimpy compared to yours . However , I’m pleased w/ some of the taste and delivery service

Work at walmart and I didn't know anything about this company. I noticed on my Lunch break sitting in my car at the parking lot and I see a something fishy going on. There was a whole stack of these, probably 50 boxes sitting out in the hot july sun for over an hour. There were a bunch of people around the boxes with cars loading them in. Not sure what's going on but this can't be safe. They then parked a bunch of these cars in the Walmart parking lot for the remainder of my break sitting in hit 120+ degree cars for at least 30 more minutes. They had to disperse the cars because they had the attention of a security gaurd.
this is the first video I found explaining what all these boxes were.

So first time I ordered Cook Unity they lost my meal - but they gave me a discount on my next two orders (instead of just first order like the promo says)
I loved the protein heavy items, tasted great. Honestly if you look hard enough, you can find healthy items that taste great.
I agree with your take on the Paneer Makhani, did not pack enough flavor but actually crumbly paneer is higher quality than the tofu-like, stiff paneer.
Overall it’s a great option - I have not found a better one

I've been having Cook Unity for a while and I agree with your review in most points! I found it to be one of the best tasting meal plans, and I was tired of having to figure out what to do with all the trash from those big meal boxes, so compostable packaging and returnable bags were a big + for me!
The one thing that is not great is, if you are trying to follow a diet, you need to be careful and check ingredients and calories for every meal. Many times I selected a meal and only later realized that it packed 1000 calories! @_@ And it happens more often than you would think.
But overall, it was the best meal service I tried.

Helpful comments. Curious if any of the other services you tried are close enough to recommend considering and which ones would be on the do not try list. I'm asking because 1) I'm personally looking for a meal prep option right now and 2) I'm also considering investing in and being a co-founder in a meal prep business so I'm also doing some resesrch.

They were terrible. Every meal I received had over 630 grams of salt. Food was very salty that I couldn’t enjoy it. My experience was not positive. At least 2 meals were spoiled from my order. That was enough for me to cancel.

    • @tutle622
      @tutle622 3 месяца назад +1

That's a completely reasonable amount of salt. You would expect your meals to have roughly 1/3rd to 1/4th the amount of your daily sodium intake, which these have.

I totally disagree with you about not being for specific types of diets. They totally give you the option of picking which diet you want to follow and give you options based on that choice. In addition, you said they charge $9.99 for shipping. That is not true either. It's free shipping.

Either the reviews are artificially inflated, or more likely, the business has not planned for it's growth. Because the customer service at this business is the very worst. Late shipments and deliveries leading to spoiled and useless meals. Continuous refusal to rectify their own mistakes on orders and billing. Hiding behind their own jacked policy to not provide refunds. They only offer credit toward your next delivery. Do not use this service to plan your meals. You will waste your own time.

Glad you are enjoying it! I've reviewed 25+ meal delivery services on this channel, so I have run into quite a few different types. Most of them allow you to select meals, but there are still some that don't, or just recently allowed this. For example, Trifecta just started allowing you to select your own meals in the last year or so (after I reviewed it). Sakara Life, probably the most expensive one I've reviewed, still doesn't allow you to choose all of your own meals.
I usually try to stick with the recommended way to consuming meals I try, and I haven't seen Cook Unity recommend freezing for their menu items (although maybe I just missed this). I'm sure it would work well for some of their menu, but I'm not sure they are universally well-suited for freezing (e.g. fresh salads).
Thanks for watching and your comment!

Sent us food we couldn't eat, like sow belly and other unidentified food that wasn't worth the $200.00 cost for 24 strange tasting food that was partially trashed as we couldn't trust it.
