@toxic i suggest binding ur mouse3 to crouching. Dont unbind your ctrl, let both buttons enable crouching. Helps me make my bombs higher

Can you go into the timings of speed pogos? For example, how big is the timing window, what effect does it have if you shoot at different times inside that timing window, and what if you're too early or too late, and how to tell if you're succeeding (as well as if you're succeeding a bit or succeeding a lot). Also, going into how the timings and the aiming are affected by lag would also be good.
A bit late, but if you shoot too late in the timing window the rocket will land behind you and you'll be stranded. Shoot too soon and the rocket will land in front of you and also completely shut down your momentum. Aiming is a matter of practice/trial and error, and you'll know if you're doing it right or not by the amount of times you can do it in a row and the speed you attain while doing so. I now am okay at rocket jumping. I do it best on servers that I connect to with 1-30 ping and are currently running koth_harvest_final or koth_harvest_event. I prefer the Event version because of the ghosts and pumpkin bombs.

There are two kinds of surfs: Surfing, on a surf map, on the side of a surface, or surfing off of damage, if someone shoots a rocket at you, and you jump just before it hits you, you can surf it and fly away.

An excellent introductory video to rocket jumping! I'm going to be forwarding beginners to your videos in the future.
I especially liked the pacing and the general flow of the video, how you made some really informative commentary layered on top of really exciting footage, making smooth transitions to the parts relevant to the current topic. Perhaps some of the techniques (like syncing and c-tapping) merit a more thorough explanation, as well as a couple small tips for how to pull it off more consistently, but that would have made the video too long and not as interesting to watch.
It would be really nice if you had a complete package with the rest of the techniques: jurf, wallpogo up and down (optionally edgebug and bounce?)

After thousands of jumps and fails, now I understand this tutorial :P I have only 70-80h on rocket jumping and I'm still not good as I want, but practicing over and over will help. Every new rocket jumpers, remember one thing: Don't give up!
The last rocket jumping video i saw was by Star_ multiple years ago, so of course, i just taught myself how to rocket jump with no prior knowledge, but that sink jump is the one thing i couldnt figure out on jump maps

How to: Rocket Jump It All
*Basic or Generic Rocket Jump* = Jump+Crouch+Attack - you can search for rocket jump binds - Practice angling this, too for the most effective use
*C-Tapping* = Crouch + Basic Rocket Jump or any Rocket Jump- higher rocket jump - there's probably binds and scripts for this, too
*AirStrafes* = Slowly move your mouse to the left or the right and click on the respective keys while in the air. REALLY IMPORTANT.
*Pogoing* - Crouch as you fall and hold mouse1 or you left click button if that's where its binded. Control with WASD or your movement binds - same as c-tapping and generic rocket jumping - having scripts and binds
*Water Rokketeering* - Hold Space and That's it - shoot around and spam your A and D keys or your movement binds for left and right - don't need binds for this one lol
*Speedpogo* - HOW TO BE A SPEED GOD - this is basically a speedy pogo - Walljump Lateral from a wall or whatever you want to start that gives you speed and shoot a rocket under you as you're about to hit the ground - continue this as you slowly rise your crosshair to get you rockets under you to gain speed. Looking more down = speeds, Looking more up = more height. - You want a balance of speed and height to continuously do this.
*WallJump Vertical* - Start with a basic rocket jump and angle you crosshair in between under you and the wall. It should be a diagonal angle. Then crouch+jump+shoot against the wall. ALSO Make sure to hold W or the movement key that you're using to rub against the wall
*WallJump Horizontal* - Start the same as WallJump Vertical, and while rubbing against the wall with the right movement key, aim in front of the wall and crouch+jump+shoot
*WallJump Lateral* - You'll use this the most out of the WallJumps - Rub against a wall by moving with a movement key - move using the movement key that makes you go move forward (or backwards if you want) (let's say that the wall is the left of you, you want to rub against with W and to move forward you have to press A) and crouch+jump+shoot
*WallJump Diagonal" - The most useful in jump maps - The wall should be the left of you and do a rocket jump into a WallJump Vertical however you want to press the opposite key of the key you're rubbing against right when before you shoot - gives you a lot of speed and height
*Surfing* - Great for rocket conservation and keeps your speed - Do a rocket jump that gives you a lot of speed - Then shoot under your self near a ramp then, you should slide up .(I'm pretty sure you can slide up from the ramp ,not a flat surface or a flat-enough surface, too) (Doesn't have to directly down if you're speedpogoing at MACH 10 or a really fast speed XD)
*Sync Jumps* - Comes down to timing honestly - When you're falling from a high height, shoot your rocket when you're about 60% down and do a generic rocket jump when the first rocket reaches you - Could be done with multiple but timing will be harder
*Speedshots* - Timing is key too - I would say that when you're at a higher elevation and do a perfect speedpogo you can gain a lot of speed but, you have to se for yourself. This basically comes randomly in the speedpogo package (I think you would call a perfect speedpogo, a rocket that is angled directly below your feet especially when you have an insane amount of speed this is hard to come by)
Comment your thoughts about this and corrections to make. I just wanted to make a guide based of my knowledge of watching these videos 5 times LOL. But seriously, this is supposed to be a cheat sheet for rocket jumping. I would recommend you guys to give really want you guys to give me your thoughts about Speedshots and Sync Jumps cuz they're the hardest to do, and Speedshots have nearly no explanation (Unless I'm missing out on something). Also add resources, if you want.

umm i have a doubt...normal rocket jumping requires crouch and jump buttons to be pressed along with shooting...so in speed jumping thingy where u gain momentum....what buttons do we need to press?
Just hold crouch and shoot! You only have to use your jump button when you're starting the jump. Also use your strafing keys (a and d) if you want to move in the air.

You really expect one video to magically teach you how to rocket jump? I watched multiple videos on how to do this and they were redundant. So you'll actually have to TRY. You'll have to be determined, I wanted to speed pogo and I learned how to do it in 3 days. Maybe you are doing it wrong. Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect :).

That's because you're not meant to learn in school you're only there to be indoctrinated the same useless courses and curriculum for the whole 12 years until you got the qualifications and papers. By this time you've already been brainwashed enough to think you need 4 years of college. So then you go do that and you come to find out it's just as useless as high school but worse because after finishing college you're now 22 years old with still literally 0 experience and now you're in debt $30,000 and you wont be able to pay that off til maybe in your late 30s so now at this point you just wasted half of your life and now your miserable cuz you're stuck with a crummy job that barely pays enough and a shitty boss. Don't go to school kids it's all an illusion. I got kicked out of school my senior year and I will say it's one of the best things that happened to me because if I probably never were to get expelled I would probably be put in this same time wasting loop instead of pursuing my dreams like I've always wanted.

i recommend going into a server with plaza map, enable friendly mode(just write /friendly on chat), write +duck on the console and try to go fast as you can. that actually teached me how to time it. also don't just shoot at the ground. try walls too.
in case anyone is wondering how he was floating you go to console in tf2 ( ` or ~) and type in the console: bind (whatever key it doesn't matter) noclip for me I use: bind v noclip so if you want to use mine that's fine
To learn pogo jump hold crouch and use key w , s ,a while firing to the ground. for the tip

I'd say it is easier to tripple sync if you shoot the first rocket earlier so you can see it in front of you and then when you catch up with it you fire the second.

What is funny to me is that I always crouch whenever I rocket jump. I always thought it was required to do rocket jumps.

Tip: if you water pogo start of by holding w then hold s you go way faster and its easy to control

You could have mentioned how you can take no fall damage if you use the rocket jumper but only up to a certain height the way you do it is you fall down then shoot a rocket and you won’t take any fall damage
I actually started off c-tapping because i thought that was how it was supposed to be, now im great with c-tapping.
The angle needs to be right when your rocket jumping plus the angle at the right time could get you in air in seconds! Without crouching.

Sliding is pretty similar to demoknight, if you have a ton of speed you can trimp of a ramp by strafing a 90° angle just before you touch the ramp... even as a soldier

It's not surfing, that's sharking. Sharking is basically when you keep your speed by sliding up a slope or hold space above water.
If you struggle with the speed you can do Sv_cheats then host_timescale
a little tip he didn't say in this is that in somewhere in the options you can turn on auto reload this makes it a bit easier in my opinion becuase you may forget to reload in mid air when you have time to.
2 years ago this was amazing to me, now I can do this a lot better than I thought I could and I can also sticky jump and trimp
Honestly, i dont see the point everyone in the game's community is so enthusiastic about it. As i see it, it needs great bit of practice. You waste a ton of hp when landing which can be mitigated by using a different secondary (but leaves you exposed to use only rockets and not shotgun) and nothing to show for it. If i devote the same time in other classes i think it will be more deadly. Like learning to headshot everything with sniper, or learning to flank with scout. All those have greater reward. How people get crazy with it?
just want to add that you cant surf on every staircase. Espacially if its a community map. But it should work on 99% Atleast on the default maps

Next video scrap jumping also known as using the most randomest soldier weapon in the game called the i forgot what its called but i know its much more harder because it can be mobility and attack while in the air faster than the stock launcher
