In a new song we're writing, we transition out of a breakdown into the main riff using the "leave no fret untouched." My drummer asked me how to play it and I said "3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12"

Dude, I love the drumming. Can you do a video that features how you create the drum parts?
Basically just program the kick to match the guitar. Add the snare appropriately (usually when there’s a pause). Then add some kind of cymbal to keep steady time.

@@leviathan3630 Just put snare on 2 and 4, sprinkle in ghost notes, then put a few in wherever the melody part gets most intense, in sync with the melody.
