Hahahaha! One of my favorite performances by the FF. This and the tribute to Led Zep at the Kennedy Center. Love how David Grohl and Taylor Hawkins can switch out like that!
I've listened to so many covers of this song and no one has ever been able to measure up to CCR. I understand having fun singing something You love. I'm all for that..but I have to say, when I hear a cover of anything by CCR, it just makes me long to hear it from them more than anything. They put a spell on me. Because I'm theirs. ❤️ They ain't gonna take none of my fooling around, listening to other bands cover their songs..😂
The Foo Fighters are the world's leading rockers. Just saw them last Tuesday and they did covers of songs I didn't like that were amazing. They're amazing
When I saw that Foo Fighters covered my favorite CCR song I had full faith in Dave Grohl to do it modern justice and I’m not even a big Foo fan but I was not disappointed. There is only one John Fogerty though.
This cover of the CCR song rocks! I can't believe the low viewer count. I saw it live on TV with speakers turned up and wow! I am going to see the Foo Fighters next week!!
I love Foo Fighters, and they did a great cover of this song (which is my favorite CCR song btw), but it's sad that he didn't know all of the words, or just got mixed up, not sure which.
When i first saw this i was like... yeah ok the foo fighters doing CCR this had ought to be funny... Lemme say F#$kin amazing... I am floored... my hat is off to you guys .. Now you have a new fan
Hey I'm a huge CCR/John Fogarty fan and I think this is kick ass, the bass player is rockin, so are the drums, hell man it's right damn good, I think you'd be hard pressed to hear someone cover it better!!!
In my view this great band are up there this is as good a cover as i ever heard so what a few words wrong its live and smokin also love these guys attitude they have hearts and it shows
I think a lot of angry posters don’t understand the context of this cover. The song was played at a hurricane Katrina benefit. A bunch of bands were playing sad and reflective songs. Foo Fighters instead came out and sing about love and pride of New Orleans. Game set match, Grohl!
well done! ccr has such signature licks and sound. they kept it clean and easy and made it rock. so glad Dave didn't try to put a bunch of crap in that it didn't need...great cover
The Foo Fighters aren't my favourite band, they're not even in my Top 20, but Dave Grohl is one of the only singers who can sing this song properly, without raping it. I would love to hear him cover "Fortunate Son"
this is possibly the best cover of this song ive ever heard. I used to cover this with a band i was in that didnt last till even 1 show and it still didnt sound as good as this. (just for the record ive been in alot of bands that played regularly before that band. i just never got to play a show with this band cause our drummer didnt have time to make the practices)
On The Bayou Lyrics Now when I was just a little boy standin' to my Daddy's knee My Poppa said son don't let the man get you do what he done to me 'Cause he'll get you 'cause he'll get you now now. I can remember the fourth of July runnin' through the backwood bare. And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin' chasin' down a hoodoo there Chasin' down a hoodoo there. [Chorus] Born on the bayou Born on the bayou Born on the bayou. Wish I was back on the bayou rollin' with some Cajun Queen. Wishin' I were a freight train, oh, just a-chooglin' on down to New Orleans. [Chorus] I can remember the fourth of July, runnin' through the backwood bare. And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin', chasin' down a hoodoo there, Chasin' down a hoodoo there. [Chorus]
Yeah... pretty much if you ever by crazy chance walk around a street corner and get caught in the middle of a rock n roll contest.. you'd best just use this song...
OH...........MY...........GOOD............GAWD!! The FOO'S freakin KICKED MAJOR AZZ on this one!! NOBODY could've done a better cover on this one, than the Foo-Fighters!! HATS OFF to em on this one!!
Love the foo fighters i would to have this song on my ipod when i ride my harly here in south dakota im 48 years old n would love yo meet da foo fighters or send me this song cant purchase it anywhere bummer
40 year old solos still hit it hard, unlike that digital garbage we hear today, no one will be listening to that in 2042, but CCR will still be getting airplay!
I saw this that night.......like everybody else on T.V. they rocked it. When they played in the WHITE HOUSE for the tribute to THA MACCA.....they were the only band that ROCKED IT....band on the run, plus he gave a great into.
i've been looking for this since i caught it live on a friday night. i was talking about it with my guitar instructor. this song has passion...it was so "in the moment." thanks for posting! if you have an MP3 of this, that would be incredible.
I'm no fan of modern rock bands, but this is a decent cover of CCR's masterpiece. John Fogerty is 67 years young and still tears this song up in concert! I saw him live two nights ago and he can still rock his fanny off. Check out one of his concert DVD's for proof! NEW ROCK NEVER....FOGERTY FOREVER!!
Kurt would've rocked this one. Nirvana were briefly a CCR cover band at one time, and I can definitely hear a Fogerty influence in Kurt's vocal approach.
low viewer count probably because there are 2 of the same vids on here. other probably has more i guess. i checked them both out because the other looked a little fuzzy. this 1 is a bit better quality. badass cover though i was watching this the night it was televised and it was awesome because i didn't know they were gonna do this song.
This is really nice! I actually would've thought Taylor's voice might have worked a little better since he usually sings a little higher, but Dave still does great to my slight surprise.
everything about foo fighters is amazing, covers, singles, everything. Now this cover.. everybody does change a thing or two, nobody does exactly da same shit, so, fellas! please, its a cover!! dont get angry with this guy right here. He made a good job though
Amazing cover! Stop comparing versions, people.....Music is not a contest! Sit back and enjoy!
Stop being a control freak. =]
Janine Riddle true
I am full agree with you
Damn right!
Thanks Dave.
When I listen to this, so do my neighbors. Even the cops like it ‘cause they show up too.
Hahahahaha 😂
Hahahaha! One of my favorite performances by the FF. This and the tribute to Led Zep at the Kennedy Center. Love how David Grohl and Taylor Hawkins can switch out like that!
Great version. It capture the original spirit and has a high energy all its own. Great job!
I've listened to so many covers of this song and no one has ever been able to measure up to CCR. I understand having fun singing something You love. Gotta love the references to one of their best songs 💯
@@cerberus5985 Which ironically is also a cover!
I think Ratt did the best cover.
one of the best covers of this song ever. great job, especially i love the percussions
that hit the spot....
The Foo Fighters are the world's leading rockers. Just saw them last Tuesday and they did covers of songs I didn't like that were amazing. They're amazing
Rip Taylor, love the way he's drumming here. Just into it!!
This is the best cover of Born on the Bayou. I was pleasantly surprised. They do it Foo Fighter style, but CCR lives on forever. I grew up with CCR,
I love Foo Fighters, and they did a great cover of this song (which is my favorite CCR song btw), but it's sad that he didn't know all of the words, or just got mixed up, not sure which.
Favorite CCR tune played by favorite fucking band.....
DAVID FUCKING GROHL !!!
These guys rock! What a great cover. Saw them in Indy last summer!
Best Born on the bayou cover he has a great voice for it and Nates bass playing is so great on this
Rip Taylor you truly were a gem of a drummer. He's having so much fun here. Its painful to think about what happened.
When i first saw this i was like... yeah ok the foo fighters doing CCR this had ought to be funny... Lemme say F#$kin amazing... I am floored... my hat is off to you guys .. Now you have a new fan
its nice to see a cover of an amazing band ! ccr are definately underrated nowadays
Hey I'm a huge CCR/John Fogarty fan and I think this is kick ass, the bass player is rockin, so are the drums, hell man it's right damn good, I think you'd be hard pressed to hear someone cover it better!!!

Great great cover from a great band. Foo Fighters has my respect. Couldnt be more proud. Love being from Houma, La!

Nobody is someone else but i find it a respectuful and worthy cover
The Foo Fighters aren't my favourite band, they're not even in my Top 20, but Dave Grohl is one of the only singers who can sing this song properly, without raping it. I would love to hear him cover "Fortunate Son"

@themanizi glad I'm not the only one who clicked this thinking it'd be a joke to be surprised by how good they actually covered this song.
Kurt would've rocked this one. Nirvana were briefly a CCR cover band at one time, and I can definitely hear a Fogerty influence in Kurt's vocal approach.
J'aime !!
Good job boys, vary prepared
Awesome.

Es bueno este tipo, eh. De los últimos de la vieja escuela?. 👏👏👏
Awesome. You nay Sayers need to pick up a guitar and give it a shot,, that is a great sound to a great song. Nicely done.
Are you kidding? That's a Gretsch, they rock, if they are badass enough for Billy Gibbons i think Dave can rock out on one.
Cool cover.
You're my boy, Foo!
Credence grunge style!👍
everything about foo fighters is amazing, covers, singles, everything.
Now this cover.. everybody does change a thing or two, nobody does exactly da same shit, so, fellas! please, its a cover!! dont get angry with this guy right here. He made a good job though
