this song,..reminds me, of the way you just described,..only, that I live in Nova Scotia,..we have no Bayou's,..but we have a soul,.thats proud,...most of the "Cajuns" came from here,..some still remain,& the Acadiens, have always ,..& will forever,..be apart of my life,...bless you,..,..Je Temme,..mon amis,..
this is simply stunning, both the music and the visuals. As a guy who will never see these places sadly, i want to say that John Fogerty and Creedence have meant so much to me over the years, right from the first time I ever heard this stunning voice in the sixties until this day. I have seen Creedence at the Royal Albert Hall in the early seventies when they were then a trio and have seen JF in London since. They are my lifelong alltime favourite band ( closely followed by pink floyd..!! ) I was singing their praises over here long before they were big time. not easy in sixties UK. Your written descriptions of your childhood coupled with this video and music confirm what JF always meant and felt about the Bayou. lovely, touching, moving, evocative and left me wanting to visit....many thanks.....x
I grew up in swamp like that!.., Except that we never had an air boat... Not even a Fishing pole!... we use to hunt Gators with Machetes and my Dad was always my Hero!... 5'5" and 120 Lbs... He was my Hero RIP.
We had the same kind of thing in Florida, I really miss living on the water!! People just don't understand what it's like. To be around water all the time.
IMHO this is right up there with "In a Gadda Da Vida" as one of the great classic rock masterpieces. Just a joy to listen to; pure ear candy! I love those solos and the great rhythm.
Great video. I've seen those bayous, walked the cane thickets and piney woods. Family is from Eunice, Ville Platte, Oppolousas, LA, Beaumont and Woodville TX. Being out on a sandy bank catching bluegills with only the sound of the wind through the leaves and the frogs croaking is something that eveyone should experience at least once.
Sensational video! Matches my favorite song PERFECTLY! Love seeing all the bayou critters taking center rocking stage here too.You have mastered the art of musical accompaniment.
Love the little alligators :) they're so cuuute... Had to sit down and play some drums--like RIGHT NOW...:) It was up between the HUGE Ludwig Bonham set (my favorite kit ever-ever:) and the smaller, highly affordable Sakae cocktail kit (they used to make cocktail kits for Yamaha) for 644.00 leaving Vic's Drum shop (Chicago) WITH GREAT, immensely effective but VERY, VERY light and compact hardware AND Remo coated Ambassadors as God Himself intended :). The original heads were kinda cr*p...but it's a GREAT kit. It even holds up in volume AGAINST that monster Bonham kit :) I like DW, but they don't do LOUD as well. I've seen vids where they're a bit too quiet. I've yet to see a normal Ludwig set too quiet...minus those stupid ones with no bottom heads--big in the 70's...(Karen Carpenter used that setup on the same kit Bonham had in blue). And of course, a Ludwig 402 Bonham snare is STILL the greatest snare I ever touched, though I try not to touch too much stuff at Vic's because I WILL buy it...barely have room for what I have and I STILL want portable congas, a cajone, and the Karl Perrazo timbales... The only downside is the pedals aren't the greatest, or at least not DW stuff. But DW stuff (one pedal) is about what the whole kit cost so...my larger guy friend says the kick walks a bit and I can see that.
That was the most incredible visual journey that perfectly matches the song that I have ever seen! I've always been into making these kind of videos. You have done a perfect job!! Congrats!!...and thank you.
i talked to Jr and aggie, his beautiful wife a week or so ago! such beautiful people! got a hug from aggie! Jr, six foot eight said that his daddy would whup him if he did not get a squirrel in the first shot, said this job will change your personality, norcal heavyweight champion boxer, one time I pissed him off, he put his fist in front of my face, I shut the fuck up! I love jr and his wife aggie, he is from kentuck.
