I grew up during Vietnam. I remember hearing adults talk about it and all I understood was it was a far away place where bad things happened. Then I watched The Deer Hunter. I was never the same. Innocence lost forever. 😢
I was stationed at Monkey Mountain Vietnam in 1967, I was 17 when I arrived and 18 when I left, somewhere along the way I was exposed to agent orange, a defoliant used to spray the jungle. I am now 73 years old and have a VA disability from the exposure to Agent orange, nasty stuff. This video brought back so many memories, good and bad. To all Vietnam vets everywhere. Stand tall, Stand proud. God bless you and your families.

Everyone who made it home and is still with us needs to be recognized and appreciated beyond words but by love and support because we are grateful for any part you played in that conflict as they liked to call it but it’s not like that now and it’s time you get the recognition you deserve.
as a soldier I agree; the training we do is incredible, but I'd shure as heck would prefer to do demonstrations alongside the Spetznatz and GSG9, our Canadian outstanding troops. we don't want to fight each other, we want to work together, do great things, but actually go home, all are skills can be applied to search and rescue

Wouldn’t really say it’s against war, it’s more about how some people can avoid the draft because they are rich, while the lower classes had no choice.
My uncle fought during the Tet Offensive at Hue. He was lucky. He not only survived the battle and the war, he then got to raise a family and a very successful business. But the war will never stop haunting him...
If you see a vietnam vet, look him in the eye, shake his hand and say welcome home. Many soldiers felts unwelcomed when they came back. It means more than youll ever know
Been in around three jungles for the USA Army. But thank God I was not in that one. And God bless those who were. So yes, shake their hands while we still can.
I get this sentiment for the few years after the war. But at this point it’s been over 50 years since we left Nam. Most of the veterans are pretty old or have sadly passed. They have been back home well before most of us were even born.
Great guitar playing the birds were the best growing up in the 60s and the 70s was a great time I love that raw electric guitar sound of the 60s. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍
Exactly as planned. Get the poor & working class kids to kill each other. That's the real reason for war. Don't be fooled. The "elite ruling class" collaborate regardless of borders. Same as Democrats & Republicans in the US. They work together while keeping the public divided & fighting each other. The wrong ppl have power in this world. But we give them that power. Wish ppl would wake up & stop falling for their shit
The draft was a terrible part of our history. I say this to as an Afghan war vet who voluntary joined to pay my $51k in student loans back. Key word: voluntary. Thank your Vietnam War veterans for surviving and sacrificing their physical and mental health. Now that Afghanistan collapsed, we understand our Vietnam vet family.
Ahghanistan collapsing was intevitable. I have no idea what we were fucking doing there in the first place. The British tried, the Russians tried. Why bother? It's tribal wars, nothing else.
Thanks American brother for doing your part. The drug war run by our cheque signing letter heads will never be won. Regardless of the soil we die on for it.

Salute to my brother Howard who served in the army in Vietnam. In 1969 a car drove up our country driveway to report him MIA. He was later found and I remember the overseas call we received. I was only 4 and he asked to talk to me. His voice started to crack and he choked something out about how sorry he was that all the pictures that I drew for him got burned. He was in artillery and their line was attacked and people were running and shooting and he had burns on his lower back and he was eventually found and sent to a hospital. It took awhile for the military to find out where everyone was.... and in my innocence, I told him not to worry. I would draw more pictures for him. He passed away from throat cancer.... I miss him so much. He was and will always be my hero. I may have already told this story here, but well, here it is again.
