With this song, John Fogerty was sued for plagiarism for copying himself. The late Saul Zaentz was the former owner of Fantasy Records during the CCR era and owned the rights to Fogerty's compositions. He unsuccessfully sued Fogerty claiming this song ripped off "Run Through The Jungle". Though there is a similar style in the two songs, the judge ruled in favor of John Fogerty who, by the way, finally regained majority rights to his own songs earlier this year.

When CCR was new to the radiation in OKC , and I was in my first kid band , we played a LOT of their songs . Young and older alike loved their music , and it got us a lot of work . We wore out a few albums setting the needle back to the song's start , over and over , 'til we got it right . I didn't know yet about ASCAP fees for public. " venues " , and I wondered aloud if we should be sending them some money ! In retrospect , it was my first attempt at studying style and composition . I'm near 70 years now , and I still listen to and play Fogerty's music ! I don't mean for this to sound like it's about me . All that stuff is just point of reference . This music is as great as any , and really tells relatable stories . It's up to ALL OF us to see it lives on !!!

I've always loved CCR and when this came out I was 19 years old living in a barracks on Whiteman Air Force Base, Misery. Whiteman Airplane Patch! I bought this CD in May, 1985 and it was my 3rd ever CD after the boss and purple rain. I remember that May the Base would not turn on the A/C in the barracks(but every other building had A/C) until it turned 80 degrees 3 days in a row. Well it got hot in those barracks, so hot that when I left my room there were guys sleeping in the dirty hallway. Tensions were high a couple of disgruntled airmen went to the day room and threw the brand new console TV out the 2nd floor window. Next thing we know we've got room inspection and I'm standing in attention in the hallway while the commander walks over sleeping airmen. Well, everybody's sweating the comm commander finally got the message and got on the hallway phone to the civil engineer commander the a/c got turned on that day. Day room was locked up for awhile and they took out the beer vending machines as the law had changed from 18 to 21. Those were the worst barracks I was ever in and I was in A LOT of barracks/dorms around the world. Fly safe fellas enjoy your Fogerty and CCR!

Ya somos dos chulada
Death is EVERYWHERE:
tonight i just lost my Father-in-law.
this song is TRUTH.
Plz 🙏4 my family at this time. Thank you.
Lost my father April of 2019 I know the pain, my pops loved this song.
John Fogerty is just awesome!! Love this song. My husband and I went to Harrah’s last night and we saw this man perform. What an amazing concert❤️.
being a young'n during the first years of MTV, you never knew what the tone, genre, and sound of what was coming on next.
A troubled soul and a great musician. This number is the absolute pinnacle of folk rock.
Love the look on John’s face when he’s revealed at the end, it’s like he’s saying “I’M BACK!!!”
He make the river call your lover..
He make the barking of the hound
put a shadow cross the Winter
When the Old Man comes around...
Great song great video, I remember this on MTV back in the day. There was so much entertainment back then you couldn’t keep up with all of it. Now, today, where’d it all go ? I miss those days, but I get to relive it again now whenever I want.
Can never get enough CCR.
this is not ccr its just john this is after the break up
This song was all over the radio when I was about 14 and I was just starting to get my hands on weed. Somehow, every time I was getting high or had just smoked some weed this song seemed to be on the radio.
I can't possible love this song anymore than i already do. Seriously!!!
Last time I watched this video I was about 9 years old, 12 years ago. I just wrote to my dad describing to him this video and he knew exactly what I was talking about, he told me the name in Spanish 🥺 and just found it. No matter the year and the place I was born, he taught me the good old music in English ❤️
I heard this on the radio and I just had to see the video for the first time and I wasn't dissapointed.
Wonderful news!!
One of my favorites!!! I grew up listening to gangsta rap all day being from the hood!!! Imagine me bumping this in my Lincoln continental!!! Lol…. Now that’s gangsta!!!
This song sounds so clear so crisp so fresh imho. It always did and still sounds great even now. His distinctive voice and some great guitar too don't forget. The heartbeat of CCR. The voice. The spirit.
Another hit that made the list of the Best Hits from the Greatest Decade of Music 4evermore thee 80's!
EVERYONE knows the greatest era for rock was the 70's....then the 60's ,then the EARLY 80's...from 87 on it went criunge ....it also very much depends on WHAT you call rock.

I seen John Fogerty and Creedence ilive in concert in 1998 was one of the best days and concerts of my life !! Amazing 👏
I remember this RECORD when I used to go to School at United Tribes in Bismarck No.Dakota ; it reminds me of driving my 1970 Ford Galaxy back in 1985 around that City
Told someone the other day that this was my favorite video of all time! They asked what the video was about...my explanation was simple, it tells the true life story of an extension cord and all the ups and downs it went through in it's life!!! 🎸🎸💀💀
LMAO!!
I love this classic, who else must confess the same? Come on!!!!
Yep 👍
Love this, could listen to this all day!!
