The definition of "talented" in the dictionary should have a picture of Dave Grohl next to it. Dude sings, plays guitar, plays drums, writes absolutely incredible music. He basically played every instrument and did all the vocals on the Foo Fighters' first album. Also, let's not forget about how amazing of a human being he is outside of music. I love this fucking song. I think the foo fighters are on the most underrated bands. They got famous easy because Dave was in Nirvana but they aren't as widely know because they play a lot of music that doesn't bow to the commercial appetite. Anyway I love foo fighters and this is one of my favorite songs.
He did go by "Chris" for a period in his younger years only because the shitkickers in his hometown weren't smart enough to spell and pronounce his name properly. He went back to the traditional spelling after a trip to Croatia out of respect for his heritage. He uses "Krist" because that's his proper name.

Slash is mediocre, only reason people rate him is because of Guns & Roses. I can name at least 7 guitarists infinitely better than him: - Nuno Bettencourt - Eddy Van Halen - Joe Satriani - Steve Vai - Eric Clapton - Eric Johnston - Newton Faulkner (completely different styles but the guys got guitar skills like you'd not believe - watch any of his live stuff).

Just thought; Nate's view is always that at 2:17. Psychologically must be difficult sort of always "appearing" behind Dave Grohl. It's clearly Dave Grohl's band, but I've never not noticed Nate Mendel. Probably just me this. I don't know what happened to the Foo Fighters after 2005 but, I didn't like it. Used to idolise this band. The new stuff leaves me cold. Such a shame.
If Nate really had a problem with "appearing behind Dave", he would've left. He once left temporarily because his old band was getting back together, but he said it didn't feel right and rejoined straight away. Clearly, he doesn't have a problem.
I think you've got it twisted. Nate has to have a constant eye-to-eye view of Taylor b/c THEY are the rhythm section. There's plenty of times that Dave's ass is facing the audience b/c Dave has to play off the percussion with what he's doing on guitar. And if you never gave Wasting Light a listen from beginning to end, I highly recommend that you do....it is their best album. The first FF doesn't count b/c it's all Dave. Concrete and Gold is probably my second favorite.
