      This is the most insane thing ever. Imagine being on that plane and you ask, “what happened” and the reply is, “oh the pilot has been sucked out the front window of the plane and is hanging on with his feet that have been caught in the controls”…. Absolutely nuts.

    The Atlanta Journal-Constitution did an AMAZING feature story on this accident. It appeared a few years after it occurred. The psychological and physical torments they endured!!

      The only thing the copilot didn't do was hold on the captain. Amazing job

    I love the woman looking out the window the closing it and looking straight forward. Also, the big guy chugging his drink instead of pouring it in the pocket. I'm sad for the real people but the writer of this dramatization definitely has a sense of humor ❤

    Why aren't the screws embossed with codes for better identification?

    Maybe they should require the flight crew to keep shoulder harnesses and lap belts on while seated

    The fact that maintenance practices and standards are often the cause, is despicable. The fact that airlines do not want to use less flammable fuel due to the cost demonstrates corporate greed and immoral practice, no passengers are valued, only profit. I’m amazed that the FAA tolerates this BS. When will the airlines ever value passenger lives over big profit? Answer: never.

    I'm just floored with this report. First of all they are screws not bolts, and why wouldn't they have a computer program to identify the proper hardware? I was out of Commercial Aviation in the 90's and there was NO DOUBT if you have the correct part to go with the aircraft. Is this the Piers Morgan version of British Parts Department? The mechanic should have felt that the screws were not torqueing correctly and felt that the heads would rock even after final torque. Had it happen to me on fuel panels on a 737, they were trying to burn me the next day but I notified them when they pulled me off the project and the management never heard me until they fueled the bird the next morning. Recognize that 90% of this stuff happens because of mid level management and they do their best to sluff it off on the mechanics. Would love to see some of those bastards do jail time.

    0:49 could it really bring down the plane though? ALL of your stories say that planes are designed to fly on one engine and pilots regularly train on the simulators for that situation.

    • @readonalds6735
      @readonalds6735 11 месяцев назад +2

      yeah but the captain could’ve been sucked into the engine which could’ve messed up the hydraulic system

    • @bootycakessss
      @bootycakessss 3 месяца назад

      just because they CAN fly with one engine (or less than the regular amount) doesn't mean it will. if a twin engine aircraft has an engine blow out in clear skies and minutes from the airport, everyone's probably fine. but add on a ton of other factors (weather, pilots, mechanical status of the airplane, etc.) and that completely changes the story.

      Up here in this gigantic freezer called Canada where I have the misfortune to live, we have even better airlines than this! The first class passengers on Canadian planes are treated like royalty, given caviar and champagne! Even sex workers are available to the men in private cabins. Second class passengers are only given stale bread and old turnips for food, and Chinese cooking wine to drink! Third class passengers get nothing at all to eat, and have to pay extra for bottled water if they are thirsty. Just before landing, when the airplane is about 100 feet above the ground, the all the third class passengers are booted out the cargo hold! But don't worry, most of them usually survive the fall because Canada is always covered with about 100 feet of snow which cushions their landing!😊😅😢

    I’m pretty sure the captain broke the rules by taking off his shoulder harness

    • @sharoncassell9358
      @sharoncassell9358 Год назад +3

      Actually most pilots take off the shoulder harness once airbourne past a certain altitude. The lap belt is not as stable and one can slip out of it.

    If they listen closely to the voice recorder...... I'll bet very heavily...... They can hear from the copilot as well as the man with the presence of mind to catch his legs on the nearest thing inside as he was making his Exodus........... "Are you kidding me?".......... And even louder from outside of the plane.... "Are you kidding me! I never thought about what that would do".....

    We can actually call this a joke.... But possibly an analogy of life.... Supposing after they leveled off.. and were able to navigate to the airport... Able to begin bringing the captain in somehow possible.... But as they did so the plane begin to tilt and go into potential stalling excessive wing tilt ... They released him back out... Plane stabilizes...😢 What actually occurred here.........?
