I love LIV. What a scenery here but Team aspect just doesn't fit in because its because of Merch and noone can make tactics or whatever to make winning team its net how every single player plays so it doesn't really fit in golf-doesn't have any sense

Love the team aspect. What is so great about it is that if there is an individual running away with the tournament. Which makes the event boring in my opinion. We still have the team aspect to keep viewers interested. The Stingers come back from 5 shots down in the last hour to tie the Rippers for the first team playoff was incredible. Then the playoff on top of it was even better. What a great event today, loved it.
So true. It adds so much drama, particularly with all 4 scores counting on Sunday. It also means players that are out of the individual still grind to the end. Rahm pumping his fists for late birdies in Hong Kong when he was out of the individual is what it’s all about. He knew his team could win, which they did.
I’m a LIV fan, but as an Aussie I’m embarrassed by the behaviour of some the crowd during that playoff. Remembering there were close to 10,000 people following that playoff but it only takes a small portion of idiots to ruin / taint what was an excellent event

100% agree with you. I was there and while 99.9% of the crowd were super respectful it only takes a couple of dickheads to make us all look like idiots.

Someone yelled in Dean Burmeister's backswing on his second shot on second playoff hole. Not cool. @21:20 in the video. However, there was some super golf at the LIV Adelaide tournament. Fun to watch. Such a great event.
That was a wild LIV team playoff sequence to watch.
It looked like Burmester and Oosthuizen had the win in the bag, and huge credit has to go to Cam Smith for not giving up and making a couple of huge recovery shots on his part to give him and his partner Leishman a chance to stay alive.
LIV Golf appears to be heading into "stadium-golf" style entertainment, especially with the added pressure and suspense of its teams format, which they really should just officially transition into internationally-named teams.
i.e. "South African Stingers", "Aussie Rippers", "4Aces USA", "HyFlyers USA", "Legion 13 Europe", "English Majesticks", "Torque L.A. (Latin America)", "Euro Cleeks", "Spanish Fireballs", etc
A shame we can’t get this on a mainstream TV channel here in the US.
Well the way the PGA operates any station that takes them knows the PGA is never going to give them the rights to PGA events ever again. Same with sponsors on LIV and even courses. They've all been forced to pick by the PGA, they know the consequences the PGA will hit them with if they work with LIV at all.
An even better Adelaide LIV event than last year - the Aussie golf fans are amazing, they bring the atmosphere, and the golfers fed off that. And, Cam Smith and his mates winning the team competition in such dramatic fashion was the icing on the cake.. Full credit to the South Australian Government and the entire staff behind the scenes.

A shame Brendan Steele's individual victory has been forgotten, he played 3 very solid rounds. As an Aussie golf fan, I hope we can eventually get another LIV event in Sydney or Brisbane.
Go and watch Zurich Classic PGA highlights and it's obvious to see why LIV Golf is the future of golf industry. Well done Greg Norman and thanks to PIF for their support.

Brendan Steele winning was a bit of a side show in the end. not sure if that's really fair.

@@thomasmurphy82 In many ways he did. The event is what it is in a big way due to Cam Smith and he delivered big time this year. But yes credit to Steele for winning the actual individual stroke-play event.
The whole of LIV is a sideshow. More like the dodgy bros circus coming to town. All money and no class.
The Team event is the main show. Individual winner is just the side show. Last year it was the crazy hole in one by chase.. now first team playoff with 2 of the biggest sporting rival countries in the world (Australia v South Africa). This is a preview of what LIV golf should be. Sundays team only event.
@@rooboy69 ye but I don’t get that. I know liv is team centric but poor Brendan Steele got almost no recognition there. I get the whole cam smith thing, but winning a tournament should still be the biggest achievement. The team thing feels a bit arbitrary. They are a team but there is 0 co operation between the members of the team. The event itself looked pretty good tho not gonna lie.

Was the team aspect of the event so crowd gets lively, was a great atmosphere and something you should expect from team formats.

It's a team format, the whole point is for the crowd to be involved and build it up... including trying to put off the opposing team in this instance.

Insane finish. I was convinced the Oz team couldn't recover from their 2nd shots at the first playoff hole, so I switched over to the footy. Couldn't believe the final outcome.

This is why Australia needs more events
The only LIV tournament that actually lives (no pun intended). That's because Australian golf fans have been starved of truly international competition.
I would have liked to have seen a teams playoff on a par three with all team members participating in two groups of four. The watering hole would have been perfect for that.
Golf markets around the World need a LIV Adelaide type event. I just wish the US golf fans understood this. Having all the best pro golfers just playing every week in the US in not good for pro golf around the World. Great win for the Aussies in Adelaide. All four members of Ripper GC played well.

Its because they have the biggest seating areas at 18. It's not necessarily the most fun, but that's why they do it.

That was fun to watch. I didn't mind the rowdy fans near the end--reminded me of almost every other international sporting event where a home team is against a visiting team. I'm pretty sure fun is still banned on the PGAT if you don't appreciate the fans getting into the action.
I can appreciate the excitement of fans up until the shot is about to be played, then its time to shut up and let the player make the shot. Then you can do whatever you want. I did also find it in bad taste that they were cheering for poor shots, but that's just my personal opinion. I just think the players and the competition deserve some respect and I think the line was crossed by many of the fans. Even Cam had to yell at them on the second playoff hole, that's how out of control it got.

LIV Golf needs a video game. Create teams and characters, logos, online leagues, create courses.
No idea how Stinger gc could finish so high as individuals and only draw for 1st place
The fact that only 3 scores count for the team total on days 1 and 2 may be the reason. You could just look back on their scores through each day, that will tell you how it happened.
What an event !!! Just love it. But lets be honest-team aspect is just not neccesary-doesn't really make sense-it would if captains could buy-sell,free agency-but still everyone plays golf no tactics possible
Well I take some back seeing the play-offs it adds a little bit but words about the franchizes and "managers/captains" are really just too big..
They do have trading and the idea is that the teams will be owned just like franchises in major sports and they'll have player contracts, trades, free agency, all that stuff. They also have relegation and promotion which is a kind of free agency. LIV has been evolving every year as it gets its feet under itself. It's an incredibly new thing still, they're working it all out. Fully fleshing out the team aspect is the main reason I'm interested.
Literally if it was 72 hole tournaments-Rahmbo would win this one and probably 1or 2 since his first appearance

He absolutely should continue to play. Also remember there’s a relegation for players that don’t earn enough points.
Glad to see him back. He is a wildcard after all, if he gets relegated at the end of the season then he'll have to earn his way back (might even go the PGAT route next year....) but at least he will have had his insurance money covered this year which was the main hurdle for the past decade +

Is the same thing as saying 'PGA Tour history' back in 1970 - 2 years after it was created.......they kept records then for the new hot tour at the time and they are keeping them now for the new hot tour of today LIV.

I think the fans deserve heavy criticism of how they behaved during the playoff. Be respectful and STFU during the shots just like you were during all the Aussie shots. The fans enjoyed themselves and added positively to the atmosphere until the end and I think LIV and the broadcast team as well as the Rippers should have called them out on it while it was happening as for sure afterwards. Unfortunately they ignored the horrible behavior. I'm disgusted by that.
Who won the damn tournament and why is it harder than normal to find the highlights. Nobody gives a flying F about who wins the team aspect of a game that is not team based nor has it ever been.
