@@2stfilms492 In order for it to be playable as normal on xbox one you need to purchase and download the base game and then undead nightmare as a DLC. It will bug out on game of the year edition or standalone undead nightmare.

It happens no matter what. It's related to the patch on game of the year edition. The switch port won't have multiplayer, so they're going to be making a lot of changes, but if they fix this glitch needs to be seen. As for this fix working, as long as you use a horse deed and load a save file it'll fix the game temporarily. You can't save with a bed or die though because that causes a softlock that will require a full game restart.

@@chicaroo1 You get Death as a reward for beating A Civilized Man, along with a horse deed (aka blood pact) for it so that if it dies you can get it back. When you catch the others and complete Horses of the Apocalypse #5 (kill all 4 types of undead with death) then you're rewarded with the other 3 blood pacts you were previously missing. If you instead choose to do all 5 Horse of the Apocalypse challenges before A Civilized Man, challenge 4 (which is ALWAYS Death) will automatically give you Death's blood pact so that you can't softlock on challenge 5.

I just started Undead Nightmare on my Series X and it's a buggy mess, headless NPC glitch fairly often, and most of the time when I save in a bed the game just cuts to black and I have to restart.
Stop playing on game of the year edition, get a normal copy, and enjoy the game as it's intended to be played. Or, stop trying to use a bed because that's the fastest way to hardlock the game and instead use horse deeds because those always save the game safely and just reload it when the glitch happens. The game's playable.
@@miketolvanen9788 Horse deeds are infinite and never deplete. They're the easiest way to force an autosave, but they will also overwrite the current horse you have, so just keep that in mind.

But, if you really don't wish to play against the clock, uninstall the game of the year edition completely and get a refund from that game store, then use that money and purchase it digitally and then buy undead nightmare as a DLC. Or, save $50 and buy it on switch or ps4. Every world record for undead nightmare has been set on a digitally purchased copy of rdr1 since april of 2020 because it doesn't have these problems, and the switch and ps4 ports also fixed them.

Good question. It's fixed on the ps4/5 and switch now, and the original DLC version is playable if you own an original copy of the game.
