Hi again, you asked if anyone had difficulty finding a particular fabric, well, I have spent a long time looking for the perfect white cotton fabric which is soft but has the structure to hold the shape of the design of the classic shirt, the one which looks fabulous with a pair of jeans. What I find is either too thin or too thick and neither feels great. Of course it may only exits in my head! Thanks you :-)

So many lovely fabrics! The brushstrokes fabric is just gorgeous, and that black dot on grey looks like it has a beautiful drape! That's an excellent point too about sometimes choosing a simple pattern to show off the fabric--I think about that a lot!

Glad you had a lovely vacation. You are right really nice prints like the ones you showed for your top and dress really make simple patterns pop. My favorites are the Fabric you have on in the SOI top and the rose viscose rose jersey...super pretty!!!

Glad to see that you are back, sorry you are so warm. It's so weird that we broiled last week and I got my wool socks back out this week! I'm having a hard time being motivated to sew summer clothes but I fell in love with the the pink blouse you wore!!!

Hi Cheryl, adorable fabics as usual and I love your Molly top in that gorgeous pretty viscose ponti 💞. I also love the prints that Sea Salt do and your dress with boats is lovely👍. I still haven't bought any of your Modal jersey yet but I had to buy the white jersey from you to make my Mum a t-shirt for her Birthday so that had to come first of course 😊. I have seen Melly's video on that neckline and thought it was very well explained. I have just bought the new Sew House Seven pattern which has five different versions of v-necklines and think I'll catch up on that tutorial 👍. How funny! I just uploaded a video tutorial for twin needle sewing, I always overlock the raw edge first too. Like you say, it looks so much like coverstitch (but without the price tag!). I love that molly top, never heard of viscose ponte so I’ve learnt something today! Welcome back from your hols! X

Oh, I just adore your McCalls dress Cheryl! Great fit & the print is so cute & summery:) Ive made several of the scoop neck view but not the V neck yet. I now have a project in mind in using the V neck view in a mint & floral French terry :) Thanks for the link to Mellys video, I'll be checking that out next. Gorgeous fabric haul too.
Rikki B thank you Ricki 🌷🐝 French Terry will be lovely. Double check the fit before cutting if you can as you may need to size up slightly for a terry fabric 👍🏻
I made a version of the scoop neck in a similar stretch french terry last year (but in solid) so it'll definitely work:) I'll probably do a practice V neck first though:)

So nice to see you back. Always great inspiration and ideas in your vlogs. Loved both of your makes and seeing the new fabrics. Can you tell me how the double gauze washes? Does it shrink each time you wash it or does it keep wrinkling up? It reminds me of American cloth diaper/nappy fabric so I've been afraid to use it. Thanks for another great video.
Kathy McConville thank you Kathy 🌷 I haven’t used the double gauze myself yet but will let you know. Not had any complaints so far so I imagine it washes well. Just use fabric conditioner as well as detergent for softness 👍🏻

Hi Cheryl great to see all your lovely fabric and makes. Do you have any tips on sewing with viscose fabric as I always seem to stretch the neck out even though I stay stitch as the pattern suggests. Thanks.
thanks Mary. I'd try not to press it too much with the iron, always stay stitch and use stay tape if you really need to. I use the Dritz Tape from Amazon here..amzn.to/2kPNIuS

Love the flowered pointelle. I'm just getting back to sewing after not for many years, so this fabric, and the simple pattern would be great. I also love the way the neckline lays flat. I have one collar bone that has been broken and the shoulder is a bit wonky, so I'm partial to jersey. Easy fit. Did you know that jersey was named after the Isle of Jersey? Sorry, that's all I know but a funny little tidbit. lol.. Nice video. Love all the info. I'm a little overwhelmed with all the new fabrics, etc. but one at a time.. Don't know how to do the PDFs yet, but have an old printer, I might hook up and see if I can copy that great top. I have a lot to learn. Thanks so much for posting. If you have beginner videos that show how to copy and size, I'm up for learning what I can. I'll check out your site. We'll see if I'm still teachable. Hah!
thank you so much 🌷 A good idea for PDFs is to get them printed if they come in an AO size or 'copy shop' size too. Most of the PDF sewing pattern companies give you a version to be printed on one sheet, so you can then upload onto a site like DottyPrint or Netprinter. I have a video on it which explains more - a few weeks ago.
