Great work mate. Came here coz a friend has this laptop and I needed to see how much of a hassle it was to add more storage (and clear the inevitable cat fluff from the cooler).
I believe they are the same laptop, MSI use the last 3 numbers usually for different dealer to make it look exclusive, so the end user cant compare price i.e. if one dealer has GF63 9SC-419 for £799 and you google that number only one dealer will have it. It helps keep the profit margin for the dealer and stops the online giants trashing the price.
Subbed! Thanks for the review. I feel as if a lot of the channels are overly negative towards laptops in this price range. I think that we as consumers know that they all have flaws, but are willing to accept those to get a laptop like this in the price range we're looking for. Hi, just bought a msi gf63 9sc-045nl which has 8gb. want to upgrade ram to 24-40gb for now and possibly all the way to the max 64gb later on. Would it be fine to add a single 16gb or 32gb stick in alongside the 8gb to increase it to 24/40gb? Or maybe a single 32gb so i can later add another 32gb? Or is it preffered to put in 2x16gb/2x/32gb at once? Would really appreciate your advice on the matter. Tx in advance.
@@hkshing630 finally I decided to bought the asus tuf 505dy. I'm afraid that having msi laptop gonna have much problems. (it only have 1 fan, and asus tuf have 2)
@@Eru- MSI fan is a lot larger than ASUS TUF fans, though. It also has longer heat pipes (so I'd imagine that helps). Also, MSI GF63 9SC has 512 SSD (like the Asus TUF), so that matches, but then this model of MSI also has faster max processing (4.10 GHz vs Asus's 2.4 GHz). I think all in all, it could come down to just what is in stock to be honest. I ordered the MSI yesterday due to stocking issues of the Asus TUF. I'll let you know if it has cooling issues (but even if it does, I saved enough with this purchase that I can always buy a cooling pad). My only worry is the generally "budget" persona that MSI seems to create for themselves.
The majority of laptops have internal battery these days it’s easy to get apart but agreed it’s more difficult for the non technical end user to change think they have done this to reduce the cost of manufacture and help reduce the thickness
I'm having a tiny bit of a problem with mine. I got it about a week ago and the battery hardly lasts 1½ hours just doing something like watching youtube.
Nevermind... I managed to fix it. For anyone with a similar problem in the future: The LED on the power-button will be either white or orange. when it's orange the computer is using the dedicated GPU(dGPU), when it's white, it's using the integrated intel GPU )iGPU). Go into Nvidia Control Panel, manage 3D Settings, and choose which programs get to use the dGPU and which do not. Some programs will be stubborn, like MSI Afterburner, where even if you tell it to only use the integrated card... if it's polling the dGPU for temperatures and load, it will keep the more power-hungry card running whenever it's on. and yeah, you can tell things like Steam and GOG and whatnot to use the iGPU... while the *games* still use the dGPU.

@@mohamedfawzy2901 Apart from the single fan, another detail is that this msi model sports a maxQ gpu, to my understanding it is slower than regular 1650 in the tuf, I feel it is too underpowered for that cpu, I'm now trying to RMA my fourth faulty Asus laptop, a ROG Zephyrus GA502DU with bad coil whine and a rattling fan, I have my eyes set on this MSI, fingers crossed it gets discounted in black friday: MSI GF65 Thin 9SD-072XES Intel Core i7-9750H/16GB/512GB SSD/GTX 1660Ti
@@mohamedfawzy2901 Oh, nevermind about my other comment, if it's the 1650 maxQ and the intel 8300H it's a good combo, and the single fan should be ok. I was looking at the 9750h version, a 6 cores cpu is overpowered for that 1650.
for me the 60Hz was no problem, at this level i think its the norm. if it was a more powerful GPU then i would say 60Hz wasnt good enough. its on a good price at them moment in UK for black friday until xmas.

@@DTecSteve sorry for the late reply. Yes speaking from experience. I have been using this laptop for 4 month i think. Most high graphic game like Doom 2016 makes the laptop very hot (90celsius) even with cooler boost.

1:52 “Where is the bamboo? 😯”
After all the reviews and you just commented about the bamboo that never exist. lmfao
What is the resolution of display?
Which one is best asus tuf 505dt i5 vs msi gf63 thin 9rcx i5 vs Acer Predator i5 8gen
If you are a kind of travelling guy the go with msi gf 63 thin..
And if you are a rather power hungry gamer who satys most of the tim at home go with asus tuf fx505dt...
You wont need acer predator in 2019..
I have this laptop its good but it gets hot, really hot and the fans at max speed are loud af I'm going to buy a cooling pad so maybe I wouldn't have to have the fans on max when I'm recording games
Reaper 48 I doubt a cooling pad would make enough of a difference to reduce the fan noise. you would be better putting that money into a decent headset. 👍
@@DTecSteve I do have one
Is fingerprint sensor available?
which is better Nitro 5 or MSI GF63 ???
i haven't seen the nitro 5 but from experience i always think the Acer kit feels cheap and plastic maybe acer will send me one to review. i dont have a good contact at acer they always look after the large national stores and big internet retailers. small indy shops dont get a look in these days.
Do you recommend this computer for a student?
😐😐😐😐....
Only one fan?? I'm really confused. Which is better guys, this or tuf 505dt?
I had to RMA 2 TUF FX505DT last month, just saying. Anyway, I would say a TUF would be better if you can get a non faulty unit, I'm not convinced that single fan can cool this laptop properly.
@@AlexGarcia-oy3qb i saw that this msi never gets over 80c on both gpu and cpu...This comforts me alot... I saw videos for FX505DT getting over 90c... What do you think?
@@AlexGarcia-oy3qb ruclips.net/video/WeEFIxgLVC0/видео.html
@@mohamedfawzy2901 Apart from the single fan, another detail is that this msi model sports a maxQ gpu, to my understanding it is slower than regular 1650 in the tuf, I feel it is too underpowered for that cpu, I'm now trying to RMA my fourth faulty Asus laptop, a ROG Zephyrus GA502DU with bad coil whine and a rattling fan, I have my eyes set on this MSI, fingers crossed it gets discounted in black friday:
MSI GF65 Thin 9SD-072XES Intel Core i7-9750H/16GB/512GB SSD/GTX 1660Ti
@@mohamedfawzy2901 Oh, nevermind about my other comment, if it's the 1650 maxQ and the intel 8300H it's a good combo, and the single fan should be ok. I was looking at the 9750h version, a 6 cores cpu is overpowered for that 1650.
Does 60hz screen is enough? Im quite hesistant to buy this because of it.
for me the 60Hz was no problem, at this level i think its the norm. if it was a more powerful GPU then i would say 60Hz wasnt good enough. its on a good price at them moment in UK for black friday until xmas.
@@DTecSteve noted sir. Last question, what do you recommend?. Msi gf63 9sc i59th gen or asus tuf fx505dt 120hz ryzen 7.. or any budget gaming laptop in mind? Thanks
I have this laptop but how do you change the led color or you can't? ;w;
U cant, sry m8

Can 4k resolution work on this?
What intel is this?
It gets really hot really fast.
You speaking from experience? And what are you comparing it with?
@@DTecSteve sorry for the late reply. Yes speaking from experience. I have been using this laptop for 4 month i think. Most high graphic game like Doom 2016 makes the laptop very hot (90celsius) even with cooler boost.
@@DTecSteve dunno about other laptop. But my friend who use TUF gaming never had any heat issue. im not a laptop expert.
@@muhammadazamuddinbinazlan8518 hmm..i think you can stay around 70-80 if you downgrade graphics setting games you play
Im buying this for school and play games on for 600 dollar in Sweden
Is it 100% sRGB? , I might use it for some work in Photoshop but I didnt any information about this.
I think its about 70% sRGB mate
@@DTecSteve thanks
@@Mro0Ali0o it's 45% NTSC which translates to about 65% srgb
We sell lots of laptops via our store but seldom get asked about colour space the majority dont seem to be concerned with it. Perhaps this is something i should include in future reviews?
@@DTecSteve i think it would be really nice if you included it in since some people want to photo edit as well, just my opinion brother
Hi is this low end laptop?
as i just bought it.... NO it is not low end. it is mid-high-ish end laptop. runs most games at low-medium (up to high) at around 60-120+ FPS. really nice laptop. would recommend.
@@TheBeast0253 thank you!!! 😄
Is it dual fans or a single fan ?
Single fans. I have this laptop, it is powerful. I can play doom 2016 in high setting but can't play for a long time because the cpu and gpu temp will rise to 80 Celsius in 30 minutes.
@@muhammadazamuddinbinazlan8518 do you think a cooling pad under this would help?
Single fan design is not a good move for a gaming 15" laptop
single fan is ok for this level / spec. its not a £2k laptop with high end graphics. if it was inadequate i would of said.
not 144hz?
About to buy it, does it overheat alot?
I didn’t find that it overheated loads no more than any other laptop we tested at this level
@@DTecSteve ok thanks :)
Yes it does but u can play with cooler boost with a big fan noice
