Just what I needed. I had C6C7 replaced with the Mobi C artificial disk about 9 months ago. Now I’m told that I’m hyper mobile, specifically in my cervical area and that the muscles in my shoulders and upper back are weak, as well as the muscles in the front of my neck. Anyway I have constant pain because of it.

The chiro took x rays and says one of my legs is slightly longer than other and clearly on the side that is longer, the hip is higher. He suggested a wedge in the shorter legs shoe but I think that that is a bandaid and there is likely a way to make my legs and hips even and he said most likely not. I'm so confused.

You might be having a pelvic tilt on one side, your hip flexors might be tight on the shorter side, or it may be a birth defect. Get a better consultation.

I disagree with this approach. For stability and additional length to go deeper into this pose, I tell clients to allow their shoulder blades to drop towards their butt. This engages the seratus anterior and keeps the shoulders from turning into earings while doing this pose. Vincent can stabilize using his traps but many people can't and have trouble with downward dog. If they engage seratus, that problem goes away.
